The Woman in the mirror was wearing a white gown, Knee-length, revealing a pair of white arms and slender legs. Her long black hair was a reflection of her pale face, and her small delicate face had lost the Sparkle of her eyes at her age.

This was the third year, two months, and seven days of her marriage to Clitton. For three years, for more than a thousand days and nights, She was waiting for the Occasional visit from her husband, Clitton, In this cold Villa.

Thinking of this, she smiled to herself.

How ridiculous!

She dressed up like a delicate and noble princess and sat on the Sofa waiting for the man to come and divorce her.

Yes, their marriage was coming to a halt today, Lydia took a look at herself in the mirror, and Suddenly a charming smile blossomed, as it was her last day as his wife. She took her lipstick out of her bag and tinted her lips even more redder in front of her mobile phone.

Just in, She heard a vehicle driving into the villa. Even though he had been here only a handful of times in the past three years, Lydia could tell at first sight that it was him!

"Clang".

The glass door opened from outside, and looking upwards, there was a pair of long, slender legs, wearing black suit trousers, which enhanced the man's figure. He had a face that was seductive with lean, defined features and dark eyes, and he was looking at her with a hint of anger. The gaze was cold, like the snow in winter. It did not matter she was used to him looking at her like that and smiled blandly.

"Lydia, what are you still dawdling around? We agreed to go to the Civil Registry at 10 am for a divorce!

The man stepped forward and cupped her delicate chin with his large hand, applying extreme pressure.

Ouch, She screamed.

A tear soon oozed from her eyes, but the stubborn Lydia didn't want to show her weakness in front of this man.

Even if she had to gnash her teeth, She would still smile.

"I'm waiting for you, shouldn't I ? Let's go".

The tone relaxed as if they were just going to see a Symphony.

The black jeep was parked at the door and Lincoln, his assistant, was standing by the car with a stern look on his face when he saw the two figures approaching, he opened the car door respectfully.

"Civil Registry" The man commanded in a cold voice.

Lydia's lips blossomed into two sweet and unusual dimples as if she was not one to be Divorced today…

Lydia deliberately sat to the left of Clinton, the closest distance to his heart.

Oops! He doesn't even have a heart at all.

The car started slowly and the atmosphere in the car was silent like a pool of stagnant water. Clinton was staring out of the car window as he could not wait to get to the Civil Registry.

Suddenly, the tires hit the ground with an ear-splitting sound and Lydia's body leaned uncontrollably towards Clitton as the brakes were applied.

Clinton immediately pushed her, allowing her to hit the door handle which caused a bruise on her forehead.

"Ah" Lydia screamed in pain, rubbing her forehead.

Clinton doesn't know why but his heart hurts at the sight of a scar on her beautiful forehead.

He shrugged off the thought for a second time, he had no sympathy.

"What's going on!" He questioned.

"So...Sorry Sir, someone just crossed the

road".Lincoln explained in a frightened and Confusing voice.

"Watch the road".

He did not yell at him or blame unlike so much. It was only when the man's cold voice sounded that Lincoln breathed a sigh of relief.

Lydia sat up with her hand over her head, her eyes bright as she looked at Clitton sitting upright and cool. Even if it hurts more, she keeps smiling all the time. Clinton looked at her smile and felt extremely uncomfortable.

What is that smile? he asked himself.

Self-depreciation, a touch of sadness, her pale face with bruises on the chin and forehead, undoubtedly called for pity.

Once again, the thought came to him. It's only because this woman is such a good actress, otherwise, she wouldn't have made Grandpa like her so much and forced him to marry her.

He never loved her, she was too nice, obedient, naive, and a fool. He wanted a slay queen with high class wearing heels and a skimpy dress, not Lydia's usual baggy pants.

A few moments later, they arrived at the civil service. Clinton got out of the car and shut the door immediately not minding Lydia who was coming right after him, thank goodness it didn't hit her.

"Lydia, you've only been married for three years?" The staff was a bit shocked.

"Yes, what's the problem? Lydia replied.

"Why do you want a divorce?"

The first years of marriage are often the sweetest time for couples. It's hard not to wonder what's going on.

"Don't ask many questions, just do the paperwork, I don't have time for an interview here!" Clitton frown fiercely and twisted his eyebrows.

This man is handsome, but he has a bad temper which makes it hard to get along with him.

"Excuse me, Sir. It's our Job. I need to keep this lady safe "

She looked at the bruises on Lydia's chin and forehead and asked Seriously, "Did he beat or abuse you? If so....we can help with that!"

If this is true, the police need to be called.

Her hand was already on the telephone on the desk, ready to be pressed.

Abused?

Lydia was slightly stunned that Clitton never laid a hand on her in the past three years, even though he hated her. He would only vent his frustration in bed, tormenting her hard. Other than that, there is only cold violence between them.

Lydia smiled, reached out, and touched her head, shaking her head, "No. The wound was caused by an accidental fall just now, it has nothing to do with him".

"Ermm......Ok, ok. Do you have children then?"

The staff still looked disbelieving, She thought Lydia was afraid to tell the truth. Then she continued with her questions.

"NO!" Both replied in Unison, quick, and Sharp.

Lydia smiled bitterly. He had it all planned out long ago, so he wouldn't leave anything inside every time he had sex where will the baby come from? And she too, did not care to bind him with children.

Whenever she was urged by his grandfather to have a baby, she would use the excuse that "her body is not well" . No children would have been less of the problem. Then, the Staff went on to the next question,

"So, did you hire a lawyer to discuss the division of property?"

"My Lawyer will handle that, Give her three..." Before the last word "Billon" could be uttered, Lydia cut him off.

"I don't need anything!" She said

Hmmm??

Lydia smiled at his gaze like a siren, narrowed into little crescent moons.

"What are you playing again? Didn't you marry me for my money?"

Lydia fondles the divorce certificate in her hand, her nose slightly sore, having been married to him for three years but her love for him is much more than that.

Clinton got his hands on the divorce paper and threw it into the dustbin. Whether married or divorced, it was as if his marriage was a blot on his life that he did not want to remember.

"Lincoln, Let's go, " Clinton commanded with a cold face.

"What about Mrs Lydia?"

Clinton opened his eyes and looked at him"What are you still waiting for?".

"Lincoln, go ahead and leave me alone, someone will be here soon to pick me up," Lydia suddenly said.

Clinton gave her a look out of the corner of his eye and anger shot through him.

They are divorced, and she's no longer willing to ride in his car. dirty! he said to himself.

Lydia stood by the roadside, looking at the distant black luxury car, and smiled slowly.

"Puff"

The two divorce papers lay down quietly in the dustbin.

Clinton stared at his phone, hands trembling slightly. The walls around him suddenly felt suffocating. He had seen that pain in her eyes too many times—brushed it off like it was nothing, ignored it like background noise. He grabbed the phone, thumbs flying over the keys, words pouring out like a confession he could no longer bury: “Lydia… I don’t deserve to ask how you’re doing. But I saw you yesterday. And I realized—I never knew the woman I married. Not really. You were always powerful. Brave. Beautiful… in ways I was too blind to see."A pause. He deleted, and rewrote, his pulse hammering. "I was cruel. I define you when you were always priceless. I don’t expect forgiveness. But wherever you’re going, whatever storm you’re walking into—remember this: I was a fool to let you go, and I'm sorry for everything.” His thumb hovered over SEND. One tap. It didn’t undo three years of silence. It didn’t erase the bruise on her heart or the ache in her soul.It wouldn’t undo the dam

Two days later, Lydia sat in the back seat of a sleek black car, her fingers toying with the silver ring on her middle finger. The date with Mikhail was happening, despite her father’s disapproving frown when she was leaving the house. When she arrived, Mikhail was already waiting, lounging back in his chair at the rooftop restaurant. A lazy smirk played on his lips as he gestured for her to sit."Finally," he said . "I was beginning to think you'd stood me up."Lydia rolled her eyes but took her seat. Mikhail poured her a drink. "Let’s skip the pretense. What do you really want?" she asked. His smirk widened. "To keep Clinton’s secrets. If you marry me, that is."Lydia’s stomach twisted.
