Chapter 9

As we gazed into each other's eyes, a lump formed in my throat, and I took a step back, attempting to dispel the overwhelming emotions that were washing over me.

"Sorry, I just couldn't handle your singing any longer, so I grabbed the towel and escaped," he joked, making fun of my off-key singing. Annoyed, I grabbed a pillow and hit him on the head with it.

What ensued was a brief yet unforgettable pillow fight that released the tension and brought us closer together. I emerged triumphant from the fray, aided by Jasper's momentary distraction with his towel. While he hurriedly tossed his pillow aside and secured his towel, I landed a few firm blows and claimed victory. After the excitement subsided, we both rushed to get ready for the day ahead.
