Kayla pov

I woke up and looked around my environment, it a hospital, Sally must have rushed me to the hospital.

I picked up my phone from the table beside my bed, I needed to confirm if I was dreaming or what I saw is really true.

When I opened my phone I saw the exact pictures I saw at the restaurant. It was pictures of Ella and Justin kissing passionately. He promised that he was not going to do it again, why did he go back on his promise? Why did he choose to hurt me this way?

“Finally, you're up.” Sally said feeling relieved when she walked in and saw me seating on the bed.

“I'm sorry I made you worry.”

“You don't have to apologize over something you don't have control of, pregnancy can be like that sometimes.” I realized she didn't figure out that I saw something so I chose to leave it that way, I'm tired of bugging her with my family issues, this time I have to get it sorted out by myself.

“What did the doctor say?”

“You’re fine and your baby is also doing good. You have nothin

  • The Price Of Betrayal: A Matter of Revenge    Chapter 10

Kayla's povA few days later, I was finally out of the coma but I still can't forget everything that happened that night. I can't believe he did something like that to me after our shared dreams and desires. We were usually called inseparable in high school but look how we ended. I placed my hand on my belly and tears well down my eyes. He killed our baby, he destroyed everything just because of a stranger that he was having an affair with. He did not think twice before saving her but he left me and our baby to fall like we both meant nothing to him.“Hey.” Sally called me with a smile on her face as she walked into the ward with a bouquet of flowers. “So happy to have you back.” Sally said a little above a whisper as she handed the bouquet of flowers to me.“Thank you.” “Are you crying because of what happened? Babes come on, you are still young, many other babies will come with the right man so stop beating yourself up. You never know this might have just happened for the best.”

  • The Price Of Betrayal: A Matter of Revenge    Chapter 9

Kayla povWhen Justin stepped out of the house I found it very suspicious that he's leaving at this time of the night and today Ella would be going live on her social media accounts. I have been following her for a while now so I know everything that she's doing on social media. I picked up my phone and checked what the time was when Justin drove out of the house. The whole situation was becoming emotionally draining for me and I don't think I can take it anymore. At this point he keeps making promises that he can't even fulfill. The only thing that bothered me about leaving is my mom, she is going to see me as a failure again because that's what she thinks of me, every time she finds a reason to criticize me instead of being there for me. And then there is going to be my baby who would be forced to live without a father. There was a lot going on in my head but in all of this I still couldn't get that image off my mind. The genuine smile on Justin’s face when he kissed her is somet

Justin‘s povI know that even if we both pretend to be leaving happily things can never go back to the way they used to be. I messed up big time and I should fix this mess. The only thing that is keeping both of us together right now is our child.I chose not to leave the house all through the day. I don’t have somewhere important to be tonight even though Ella wants us to meet. I’ve told her several times that I cannot meet up with her. She still insists and even threatened to send some of our videos to Kayla, in order to protect our relationship and I just have to go see her. The crazy thing right now is that I don't know how to tell Kayla about it. She thinks I'm not going anywhere. While we were eating I couldn't help but look at her face, I was trying to figure out from her facial expression if now would be the best time to tell her about leaving for an urgent work in the office, I know that I am destroying the trust she's trying to rebuild but I have to do this or else our re

Kayla's pov A few days later,Things seemed to have calmed down a lot, Justin and I went back to the way we used to be, he treated me with so much love just as he used to.It suddenly felt like nothing happened but somehow the spark between both of us had quenched, I couldn't get the reality off my mind that Justin cheated on me. It feels like one day I will find out that he is with another woman again, I just can't trust him like I used to.I woke up very early in the morning and sat up on the bed staring at his face. He doesn't look like the man I used to know anymore and it hurts.“Hey.” He said to me with a bright smile on his face as he was stretching on the bed.“Good morning.” I replied softly. “How is my little one doing?” He asked as he placed his head on my belly. It felt like the baby is the only thing we both have now that is making our bond still a little strong.“She's doing great.” He looked at me childishly.“You know it's a he right?” He asked, trying to start a cut

  • The Price Of Betrayal: A Matter of Revenge    Chapter 5

Kayla's pov“There's no way I'm expecting a baby now.” I said a little above a whisper. For so many years I was happily married to him I never got pregnant and now that I plan on ending things with him, this? I can't accept the result, there has to be a mistake.I gently touched my flat stomach, already beginning to love this little life that wasn’t even born yet. The doctor had told me that the numbers were still unstable and that I needed to take extra care during the early stages of the pregnancy.“For the baby’s sake, can you forgive me this time, Kyla?” Justin asked. I turned to look at him angrily without replying to him.I was raised by a single mother, and though I had the confidence to give my child all the love it needed, I still remembered asking my mother for a father when I was young. I don't want my child to go through the same childhood I went through, it was difficult growing up without a dad.“Justin, please excuse us.” Lucy said to him while holding my hand lovingly

Ella's povI woke up really tired from last night fun with Justin. He sure knows how to make me feel good. I flinged my shoes off my leg and fell tiredly on the couch.“Ms. Ella, Mr. Fleming has scheduled a meeting with you at 8 PM at the XX villa,” Zach’s secretary messaged her. I opened my eyes wider than normal when I realized the message only interpreted that Zach is back, and he's even in the house. Zach’s back? When I got married, I believed I would finally become Zach’s wife, enjoying his love and wealth. But in reality, Zach had only pretended to go along with his father’s wishes. He only saw me as a mere decoration. His marriage to me was like a contract to him. We've been married for three years but we've never lived like a real married couples. Zach has never had any meal with me, he only shows up when we're having a family dinner.I learned about Zach’s schedule from others, and if we were to meet, it was always arranged by his secretary. I hate this cold man. No matter

Kayla's povEven though I had spoken those explosive words the bodyguards remained unfazed, they were waiting for instructions from their boss. “Let her in.” I heard a deep voice echo from the room—magnetic, without any discernible emotion. At the center of the room sat Zach, his imposing presence filling the space. Despite the weariness in his eyes, his gaze alone brought a sense of pressure. A few glamorous women were seated beside him, casually sipping drinks.I was momentarily taken aback by his gaze, but quickly regained my composure. Reality hit me when I realized how stupid I was thinking talking to her husband would change anything. I realized that I may just be overreacting over nothing. Maybe they were just having a harmless conversation as friends so it might be better I speak to Justin first before jumping into conclusions. The private room was vast and lavish, I couldn't help but feel the stark contrast in our social standings. Perhaps couples like them—rich and powerf

Kyla povI decided to pay a visit to my best friend. We both agreed to meet at the bar where she works at night. “Babes, you do not look good at all, why are your eyes swollen?” Sally asked me.“Sally, I have a feeling Justin is really seeing another woman.” I confess to her being unable to hold back my tears. I have been crying all day Sally, I don't know how to handle the situation.“You know that's impossible right?” “It is, I went through his messages.”“What?” Sally said a little on top of her voice. Justin and I used to be envied in school. We were this famous couple that no one could come in between. Maybe he has finally grown tired of loving one woman in so many years. Sally was furious because she's been there all through, she knows the sacrifices that I made just so that this marriage could be where it is today.“Why would he even think of doing such a thing to you?”“You never know, maybe he's tired. I mean it's been years already.” “Don't you dare say that, you sacrif
