Isla’s POV

I blink at her.

Twice.

Because the way she’s looking at me tells me she’s dead serious when she asks if I’m going to offer her a real apology. And that irritates something deep in my chest, because I’ve already apologized to her, twice. So why am I sitting here feeling like I’m being put on trial all over again?

She smiles slightly, bends forward, and takes another bite of her Polish. She chews slowly, unbothered, like she has all the time in the world. Then she just sits there, wait

Well I am glad Sade told her who hurt her the most between Marco and Isla. I agree with you Denina, the boys are like their father, but Shane should of left Isla a long time ago. The thing about it Shanes going to leave Isla as Sade did with Marco.

  • The Price of Peace: Book 3 In The No More Regrets Series   Pillow Talk

Keisha's POVI rolled over and looked at Kole as he rubbed slow circles across my back."Kole... I know that whole prank package was supposed to be just a prank. I know you said it was a kid who dropped the box off and that it probably has something to do with Joel. But I'm sick of this shit."I let out a frustrated breath."He knows I'm pregnant and so does that little brother of his. So for them to pull something like this just to scare me?" I shook my head. "I'm done. Completely done. I'm reaching out to the State's Attorney because this is getting ridiculous."Kole sighed softly."I know, babe."His hand never stopped moving across my back as we lay in bed. It was almost midnight, and we had to be up early to head over to Knox's house. The barbecue had officially changed locations for what felt like the fifth time.Originally, it was supposed to be here, but once everyone started RSVPing, our backyard suddenly wasn't big enough. Then it was supposed to be at his parents' house sin

  • The Price of Peace: Book 3 In The No More Regrets Series   Hey Family

Kole's POVAs I pulled up to O'Hare Airport, I glanced toward the arrivals curb and smiled. The flight had landed early, and thankfully I'd left the house ahead of schedule. Otherwise, I would've heard my mother-in-law fussing the second I pulled up.I parked the Tahoe, hopped out, and gave a quick wave to one of the Chicago traffic officers directing cars along the pickup lane. They were already yelling at people to keep it moving, so I knew we only had a minute or two before they'd start blowing whistles. The second Evelyn spotted me, she threw both hands into the air."Oh! There's my son-in-law!"She practically beamed as I walked over."Hey, Ms Evelyn."I wrapped her in a hug."How are you?"She swatted my shoulder."Pish posh. Stop calling me Ms Evelyn. I'm your mama now. Call me Mom."I laughed."Okay, Mom.""That's better."I turned toward Travis and pulled him into a bro hug."Man, it's good to see you.""You too," he replied before looking over the Tahoe. "Nice truck.""Thank

Keisha's POV, I glanced over at Kole and sighed."Kole, their flight lands in another hour, so I think you'll be fine leaving in about fifteen minutes."Kole immediately shook his head."Nope. I'm leaving now. I don't want to hear your mother's mouth if I show up late. I know it's Saturday and traffic around O'Hare shouldn't be too bad, but I'm going now."I held up my hands."Okay, okay. Well, let me finish tidying up the house. I have food on the way. Their flight lands at ten, so the food should be here around eleven."He nodded."Sounds good, love."Then he grinned."Kiss Mabel for me. I know she's in there watching her favorite girl, Rachel."I rolled my eyes."Mrs. Rachel has these kids in a chokehold."Kole laughed, pulled me into a kiss, and headed out the door.As soon as he left, I looked around the house and let out a long breath.Everything looked good. All three guest rooms were set up and ready.Soon we'd probably end up moving into whatever giant mansion Kole was secr

  • The Price of Peace: Book 3 In The No More Regrets Series   Realizations and Pregnancy

Maya's POV The weird thing about fainting is that you never realize you're unconscious until you're waking back up.One minute, I was floating.Literally floating. It felt like I was drifting through the sky, weightless, peaceful. Looking down at all the people I loved. Gabby was down there smiling and waving. My family was there too. My friends. Everybody looked happy.Even Shane. He was waving at me with that stupid handsome smile of his, and I smiled back.Everything felt perfect.Peaceful.Like bliss. Then I turned my head, and there was a brick wall. A giant brick wall and I flew straight into it.Hard.Then I was falling.I heard someone screaming."Maya.""Maya.""Maya, wake up."I groaned. My eyelids felt heavy as hell.I cracked one eye open and immediately saw Shane's face hovering over me.Relief flooded his expression."Well, it's about time you woke up, babe."I blinked."What happened?"I looked around."Where am I?"His eyes widened."We're at urgent care."I frowned.

  • The Price of Peace: Book 3 In The No More Regrets Series   Immediate Care

Shane's POV As we pulled into the urgent care parking lot, I took a deep breath. Please let my girl be okay. That was the only thing running through my mind.Hopefully, she didn’t have COVID or anything serious. The lightheadedness, the exhaustion, the fact that she had been feeling drained all day… it could have been anything. But with Gabby around, I just wanted to make sure Maya was okay and that everyone was safe.I parked the car and immediately got out. When I walked around to her side, I opened the door and held out my hand. She looked at me and laughed."Shane, I can walk."I nodded."I know you can."I reached for her hand anyway."But I still want to hold your hand. Come on."She rolled her eyes, but she smiled as she took my hand. And honestly?I didn't care.I wanted to be there for her.We walked inside together, and thankfully, it wasn't crowded. The waiting room only had one other couple sitting there.Maya walked up to the front desk."Um, I'm not feeling well this mo

  • The Price of Peace: Book 3 In The No More Regrets Series   Off We Go

Maya’s POV It felt like I had just closed my eyes when my alarm started blaring.I groaned and reached across the nightstand, fumbling for my phone until I finally managed to silence it."Jesus..."I squinted at the screen.A little after seven hours of sleep.Seven hours. How in the world did it feel like I had only been asleep for twenty minutes?I rolled onto my back and stared at the ceiling for a moment. Then it hit me.I had gone to bed ridiculously early. No wonder I felt confused."When did I become the person who goes to bed at eight o'clock?" I muttered to myself.Slowly, I pushed myself upright and headed into the bathroom. After taking care of business, I stood at the sink and caught my reflection in the mirror.I looked tired. Not exhausted.Just... off.As I turned to grab my toothbrush, another wave of dizziness rolled through me.My hand shot out and grabbed the counter."What the hell?"I squeezed my eyes shut and waited for it to pass.A few seconds later, it eased
