Shane’s POV

My chest is still rising and falling hard as I stare down at her, both of us tangled together, our skin warm, breaths uneven. My heart feels like it’s still sprinting, like it hasn’t caught up to what just happened between us.

“Whoa,” I murmur, half laughing as I shake my head. “That was… beyond amazing. I swear, I was in a trance.”

Maya lifts her head, her eyes heavy lidded and glowing, and presses her mouth to mine. The kiss is slow, lingering and nothing was rushed about it. When

  • The Price of Peace: Book 3 In The No More Regrets Series   The Sprinkler Slash Spritzer Party

Keisha’s POV“Kole, we have to go. Everyone is already there.”I sighed as I made my way down the stairs, because it felt like we had been planning this damn sprinkler party for weeks. And technically, we had.We decided on the name Sprinkler Party because three of us were having babies around the same time. Multiple pregnancies. Multiple families. Multiple reasons to celebrate.Plus, we were three best friends.Maya was further along than Sienna and me, but all three of us were close enough in our pregnancies that it just made sense to celebrate together. So instead of a sprinkle party, we decided it was a Sprinkler Party.Or maybe a Sprinkler Shower.Whatever the hell you wanted to call it.We explained everything in the invitations. My colors were soft lavender and white. Maya's were soft peach and white. Sienna's were the prettiest pastel lemon yellow I had ever seen.It was actually cute. And considering Maya was having a boy, while Sienna had decided she wanted to be surprised a

  • The Price of Peace: Book 3 In The No More Regrets Series   So... Will You

Third Person POV As the weeks of summer passed, things in Shane and Isla’s world had settled into a strange kind of normal. Not peaceful. Not exactly. But normal enough. All three of the kids were in camp now. SJ was spending the next three weeks at basketball camp, while Lily and Sophia attended day camp every weekday. Shane and Isla were still going back and forth with pickups and drop-offs, which meant they had to communicate regularly. The tension between them had eased somewhat.Somewhat.But there was still plenty of unresolved shit sitting between them. After the incident at the house, the police investigation had continued. The Ring camera footage had become a major piece of evidence. There was no footage of anyone breaking into the house during the time frame when the damage occurred. Instead, the footage showed Isla leaving the house shortly before Shane came home with no visitors since the previous day.And when investigators questioned her, her answers didn't exactly hel

  • The Price of Peace: Book 3 In The No More Regrets Series   Life Just Keeps On Life-ing

As the days moved forward, a lot had happened.More than anyone could have anticipated. After everything that had happened at the house, Shane made the decision to keep the kids with him. Since they were practically out of school, he took them to his new house and didn't return them to Isla until Wednesday. It gave them time to gather most of their belongings. The kids had made it clear that they didn't want to go back to the house with their mother, fulltime. After finding out what Isla had done, everything had simply become too much for them.Isla was disappointed, hurt, and angry, but deep down, she understood why Shane had made the decision. That didn't stop the two of them from screaming at each other repeatedly. There were arguments, accusations, slammed doors, and more than a few conversations that ended with one of them walking away before things could get worse.Meanwhile, Maya had been spending a lot more time around the children. She came over with Gabby often, and the kids

  • The Price of Peace: Book 3 In The No More Regrets Series   Final Realization... I Need Mental Help

Isla’s POVI pulled into the driveway expecting... I don't even know what I was expecting.Maybe Shane would still be there.Maybe he'd be waiting for me.Maybe he'd yell.Maybe he'd demand an explanation.Anything would have been better than what I actually saw.Shane was sitting in his truck, staring at my car with the most pissed-off expression I'd ever seen on his face.I slowed down. He looked at me. I looked at him. Neither of us said a word. Then I saw SJ sitting in the passenger seat. Shane started the truck, and just like that, he backed out of the driveway and pulled away.I stared after him.“What the fuck?”He wasn't even coming inside.I sat there for a few seconds, gripping the steering wheel.“Shit.”I swallowed hard.“I really fucked up this time.”I pulled the rest of the way into the driveway and parked in front of the garage. I grabbed my purse and got out.The second I opened the front door, I knew exactly how bad it was.Actually...It was worse than I remembe

  • The Price of Peace: Book 3 In The No More Regrets Series   Reports and Police Stuff

Shane’s POVI walked around my house slowly, because, yes, technically, this was still my house.I knew I had agreed to sign it over to Isla as part of the divorce. I knew the divorce wasn't final yet, but until that judge stamped that decree, this was still my home. And somebody had torn the damn place apart.I took a deep breath and walked into my bedroom. The first thing I did was make a couple of phone calls. The first one was to the police.Yeah.I called the police.“Chicago Police Department? What is your emergency?”“I just came home and my house has been ransacked. Nobody is here, and I don't know if anything was stolen.”“Do you know if anything is missing?”“No. I literally just walked in. I picked up my son from a sleepover, and when we got home, this is what I found. My son is sitting in the car right now. I told him to stay there.”“Okay, sir. We'll send someone over.”“Thank you. I appreciate it.”I gave them the address and hung up.Then I called my attorney's office.

  • The Price of Peace: Book 3 In The No More Regrets Series   Psychoanalysis

Isla’s POVSaturday Morning Day of the Wedding-10:30 A.M.I watched him walk out of that room looking fucking amazing.Shane looked like a man I had never even been married to.And maybe that was the problem.I knew our divorce would be final this week. There was no going back now. No fixing what had already been broken. No pretending we were still the same people who had once stood in front of our families and promised forever, and I was good with that.At least, I believed I was good with it.I watched as Shane called for the kids.“SJ! Lily! Sophia! Come here.”All three of them came running. He smiled at them, and something inside me twisted.“Okay, guys. I'll see you tomorrow. I won't be here tonight. This is Mom's weekend, so have fun. If you need me to do anything, just let me know.”All three of the kids hugged him.Sophia looked up at him.“Have fun at the wedding. And tell Maya we can't wait to see her paintings.”Shane smiled.“I will.”He kissed my daughters and hugged my

Shane’s POVSitting across from Maya feels unreal, like I slipped into someone else’s life and forgot to check the mirror on the way in. She’s beautiful in that effortless, dangerous way.
