Keisha’s POV

I smirked as I looked over at an irritated Maya.

She really thought that because she was “just the painter,” she wasn’t going to have to be involved in this whole little not so little rehearsal dinner.

But she was.

And she needed to be.

The simple fact was that Maya needed to know exactly where she wanted to stand and what angle would give her the best view of Carmen and Stephen at the front. She wanted a full, unobstructed view of the bride and groom together so she could capture

  • The Price of Peace: Book 3 In The No More Regrets Series   Rehearsal Dinner Part 2

Keisha’s POVI smirked as I looked over at an irritated Maya. She really thought that because she was “just the painter,” she wasn’t going to have to be involved in this whole little not so little rehearsal dinner. But she was.And she needed to be.The simple fact was that Maya needed to know exactly where she wanted to stand and what angle would give her the best view of Carmen and Stephen at the front. She wanted a full, unobstructed view of the bride and groom together so she could capture them properly in the painting.Especially Carmen's dress. That was the whole point.Maya wanted the front view of Carmen in her wedding gown and Stephen in his tux, so she needed to get the real optics of them together before tomorrow. As we finished packing up our to-go boxes, we walked out toward the cars.I looked over at Kole.“Well, hopefully this shit will be done quickly. We can go get our baby and have her ready for tomorrow.”Kole sighed.I already knew what was bothering him.He was st

  • The Price of Peace: Book 3 In The No More Regrets Series   Rehearsal Dinner Begins

Maya’s POVShane had officially told me that he was moving into his home.Okay, let me correct myself. Our home.I smiled to myself at the thought.Because yes, the promise he made to send one of his friends over to look at my house and give me an estimate for turning it into an Airbnb had actually panned out.The guy came Thursday.I walked him through the entire house, showed him everything, and waited for him to tell me how much money I was about to have to spend.Surprisingly, it wasn't nearly as bad as I expected. He told me that the house didn't need a ton of work. Once I moved all of my personal belongings out and changed some of the furniture, it would be pretty much ready. He did suggest knocking down one wall to open up one of the rooms and make the space more appealing. Then he gave me the quote. It wasn't bad at all.Actually, it made me understand how Shane had managed to get his new house completely renovated for such a reasonable price. The man knew people. And apparent

  • The Price of Peace: Book 3 In The No More Regrets Series   The Final Straw

Shane’s POVTwo days later, I placed an order for some hot wings and an extra-large sausage and cheese pizza.“What's your name, sir?”“Shane.”“Is that the first name?”“Yeah.”“Okay, we got you. Your total will be thirty-two fifty.”I paid for our dinner, as usual.Because Isla had basically checked completely out. When I say checked out, I mean she had formally checked out of life.Sunday was the last straw for me. I had reached the point where I was done trying to pretend everything was okay when it clearly wasn't.Tonight was the night I was going to tell the kids that I was completely moving out after this weekend.I had originally planned to wait until SJ's graduation, but I didn't think I could make it that long. Graduation was still two weeks away, and mediation wasn't for another three weeks. This weekend was Carmen and Stephen's wedding, and because it was technically Isla's weekend with the kids. Maya and I had originally planned to stay at the hotel two nights, but after

  • The Price of Peace: Book 3 In The No More Regrets Series   Same Ole Isla

Shane's POV I woke up with a damn crick in my neck and a pain shooting across my lower back. For a second, I had no idea where the hell I was. Then I remembered.Maya's mother's house.I looked around the living room and groaned.Never again.I loved Maya. I loved her mother. And I definitely loved baby Gabby. But sleeping on that hard-ass couch with the plastic still wrapped around whatever cheap-ass cushion was underneath it?Never. Again.I slowly sat up, rubbing the back of my neck."Jesus Christ."I looked around the house. Isla's father had been there last night, which was weird as hell considering everything going on, and Jason and his kids were there too. The house was packed.I had decided to sleep on the couch because I wanted Maya and Gabby to be together, and Maya's brother had his own room. So the couch seemed like the logical choice. It definitely wasn't.I stood up, stretched, and made my way to the bathroom. After handling my morning business, I came back out to the

  • The Price of Peace: Book 3 In The No More Regrets Series   Damn.... You’re Stupid

Keisha’s POVAs we pull up to 26 in California, I sigh and look over at Kole.“Hopefully, this is it. Hopefully, this is the last time we have to deal with this bastard.”His cousin already copped a plea. Three years of probation. That was it.Kole nods. “Yeah. From what the detectives told us, this should pretty much be it. So let's get this done and go enjoy our final days before Carmen’s wedding extravaganza.”I chuckle. “Yes. Please.”I was more than ready for this shit to be over.We walked into the courthouse, and almost immediately, we spot Detective Torres and Detective Alex.I look around. “Where do we sit?”Alex gestures toward the courtroom. “Anywhere you want. This is an actual hearing. The last time you came in, it was the arraignment. He entered a plea of not guilty, so now we're moving forward with the actual case.”He pauses.“He’s representing himself.”I blink.“Pro se?”“Yep.”I shake my head. “Well, this should be interesting.”Kole squeezes my hand.“Let's just si

  • The Price of Peace: Book 3 In The No More Regrets Series   The Boat Has Docked

Keisha’s POVAs the boat slowly pulled back toward the port at Navy Pier, I was more than ready to get off.Don't get me wrong. The bachelorette party had been amazing.I loved it.But my feet were killing me, and I was pissed off because I couldn't drink. Not one damn alcoholic drink. Then the frat brothers and sorority sisters started strolling, and that somehow made me even more irritated because I couldn't even get my pregnant ass up to participate.I watched Sienna get her ass up and slide right into the line like she'd been waiting for somebody to start it all night.Knox was right there with her.My husband, Kole, was out there too yelling, "Phi".And, of course, Steven.Even Carmen was out there.Meanwhile, Maya and I were sitting at our table, watching everybody else have the time of their lives.I shook my head.“I'm too pregnant for this shit.”Maya laughed.“You and me both.”Still, I had to admit it had been an amazing night. We danced. We laughed. We ate. We got gifts. W

Shane’s POVMan… I can’t believe they’re actually finally married.I stand there for a second, drink in hand, letting the reality of it settle in while the reception buzzes around me with the music thumping, people laughing too loud, somebody already drunk and it’s not even late yet. I glance over
