Shane's POV

I woke up with a damn crick in my neck and a pain shooting across my lower back.

For a second, I had no idea where the hell I was.

Then I remembered.

Maya's mother's house.

I looked around the living room and groaned.

Never again.

I loved Maya. I loved her mother. And I definitely loved baby Gabby. But sleeping on that hard-ass couch with the plastic still wrapped around whatever cheap-ass cushion was underneath it?

Never. Again.

I slowly sat up, rubbing the back of my neck.

  • The Price of Peace: Book 3 In The No More Regrets Series   Same Ole Isla

Shane's POV I woke up with a damn crick in my neck and a pain shooting across my lower back. For a second, I had no idea where the hell I was. Then I remembered.Maya's mother's house.I looked around the living room and groaned.Never again.I loved Maya. I loved her mother. And I definitely loved baby Gabby. But sleeping on that hard-ass couch with the plastic still wrapped around whatever cheap-ass cushion was underneath it?Never. Again.I slowly sat up, rubbing the back of my neck."Jesus Christ."I looked around the house. Isla's father had been there last night, which was weird as hell considering everything going on, and Jason and his kids were there too. The house was packed.I had decided to sleep on the couch because I wanted Maya and Gabby to be together, and Maya's brother had his own room. So the couch seemed like the logical choice. It definitely wasn't.I stood up, stretched, and made my way to the bathroom. After handling my morning business, I came back out to the

  • The Price of Peace: Book 3 In The No More Regrets Series   Damn.... You’re Stupid

Keisha’s POVAs we pull up to 26 in California, I sigh and look over at Kole.“Hopefully, this is it. Hopefully, this is the last time we have to deal with this bastard.”His cousin already copped a plea. Three years of probation. That was it.Kole nods. “Yeah. From what the detectives told us, this should pretty much be it. So let's get this done and go enjoy our final days before Carmen’s wedding extravaganza.”I chuckle. “Yes. Please.”I was more than ready for this shit to be over.We walked into the courthouse, and almost immediately, we spot Detective Torres and Detective Alex.I look around. “Where do we sit?”Alex gestures toward the courtroom. “Anywhere you want. This is an actual hearing. The last time you came in, it was the arraignment. He entered a plea of not guilty, so now we're moving forward with the actual case.”He pauses.“He’s representing himself.”I blink.“Pro se?”“Yep.”I shake my head. “Well, this should be interesting.”Kole squeezes my hand.“Let's just si

  • The Price of Peace: Book 3 In The No More Regrets Series   The Boat Has Docked

Keisha’s POVAs the boat slowly pulled back toward the port at Navy Pier, I was more than ready to get off.Don't get me wrong. The bachelorette party had been amazing.I loved it.But my feet were killing me, and I was pissed off because I couldn't drink. Not one damn alcoholic drink. Then the frat brothers and sorority sisters started strolling, and that somehow made me even more irritated because I couldn't even get my pregnant ass up to participate.I watched Sienna get her ass up and slide right into the line like she'd been waiting for somebody to start it all night.Knox was right there with her.My husband, Kole, was out there too yelling, "Phi".And, of course, Steven.Even Carmen was out there.Meanwhile, Maya and I were sitting at our table, watching everybody else have the time of their lives.I shook my head.“I'm too pregnant for this shit.”Maya laughed.“You and me both.”Still, I had to admit it had been an amazing night. We danced. We laughed. We ate. We got gifts. W

  • The Price of Peace: Book 3 In The No More Regrets Series   Dinner With Old Friends

Isla’s POVI sighed as I walked through my empty house. It was too damn quiet.Shane was with his new woman. Our children were with their grandmother because Shane and I had come to an understanding that we would alternate weekends with the kids, even while we are both still living together.Last weekend was mine. This weekend was his.And he had chosen to spend it with his girlfriend and their in-utero baby.My children were with my mother in laws and honestly, I figured this was probably how things were going to be from now on.People could say whatever the fuck they wanted. They could tell me Shane was always going to make his children his priority.Maybe he would. But I knew Shane.Whenever he had a new child, he focused on that child. He made sure they were taken care of. He was attentive. He was present. And now he had a new baby on the way with the woman he loved.I shook my head. What the hell was I supposed to do with myself?I walked into my bedroom and pulled on a nice pai

  • The Price of Peace: Book 3 In The No More Regrets Series   Party on The Lake Part 5

Maya's POV continued I looked around as everyone opened their gifts. People were smiling, laughing, showing each other what they had received. Carmen waited until everyone had their gifts before raising her glass. “Okay, everyone. We are sailing on Lake Michigan tonight, and it is absolutely beautiful outside. I want everyone to enjoy themselves.” She gestured toward the food. “There is still plenty of food on the hors d'oeuvre table. They're going to start bringing out different desserts, too. There are five different types, so I hope you guys enjoy.” She grinned. “And at ten o'clock, remember, we're all going to congregate together, and we're going to get down. The DJ is going to be playing some really good music for the next two hours and I wanna see some line dancing going on. Then, when midnight hits, we'll be back on land.” She raised her glass. “How does that sound?” Everyone cheered. Carmen laughed. “Okay. Let's get it done!” I looked at the time. 9:30. The di

Maya's POV I looked at Carmen and shook my head.“Girl, what the hell is going on?”That was all it took. She started crying again. Not cute little tears, either. She was crying profusely, wiping at her face and trying to catch her breath.“I’m just so shocked that Stephen even wants me,” she said. “That any man before him didn’t. Look what happened with Crandon. He treated me like shit. And for that man to say he loved me, but then sneak me around? He wouldn’t even announce me to our familys. That man wouldn’t even sleep with me because I was supposedly such a disgusting person.”I blinked.“Say what?”Sienna looked at Carmen, then at me, then back at Carmen.“Wait. Do you still have feelings for Crandon?”Carmen straightened immediately.“Hell no!”She wiped her nose with a tissue.“But when a man treats you like that...like you’re nothing. Less than nothing. Worse than nothing. Like you’re not even worth the gum on the bottom of his shoe, you get a little mental complex.”She swal
