When I woke, I reached out only to find Ben's side of the bed cold, and my mate had evidently left already for the day. I sighed he had been late returning from tracking Anthony, and despite my efforts to wait up for him, the emotion and exhaustion of the day had caught up with me. I had felt his warmth and the great comfort it brought when he did finally make it to bed and wordlessly cuddled me against his chest, but waking up without him now was distressing my already anxiety ridden wolf. I could feel Tara more and more each day. She didn't always have the strength to converse directly with me via our mind link, but I could feel her constant presence now. I climbed out of bed and quickly showered, drying and braiding my red hair into a long braid. I threw on some black yoga pants and a cropped powder blue jumper. Shoving my feet into my trainers, I found my mom in the kitchen washing up some coffee cups.
