Chapter 2- The Birthday Gift

"Surprise!" Said Jake Larson, spreading his hands at the gift he had just bought his friend.

Luke Hamilton was still sturdying Jake's new short hair-cut. When he turned to look, he couldn't believe his eyes. The new Ferrari F8 Tributo parked in his runway.

"No fucking way!" Said Luke, stroking his long black hair.

Jake was all smiles looking on.

"Jake, really? Another Ferrari?"

"It's the latest one," Jake grinned.

"Jake look, the new Ferrari is parked right next to the old Ferrari. You literally parked it," Luke gave an enquisitive smirk at Jake.

"Yeah I know, I thought Ferrari is your favorite."

"Yeah? Even so, you just bought me this Ferrari last year on my birthday. There was absolutely no need to do that again my friend. Besides, now that I've got a fiance, can't be going around picking girls with these sports cars you know what I mean." Luke said on a serious tone. "I'm not that man anymore, Jake."

"Alright, I get it," said Jake with his head down.

"You coulda got me a Lamborghini though," Luke grinned.

The two friends bellowed with laughter.

"You haven't changed at all now have you?" Jake enquired.

"No, buddy I seriously have changed. If you had come to my engagement party you woulda known how serious that was."

"Luke, how many times are you gonna have angagement parties? I've attended two of them already."

The two laughed once again as they jumped into the ferrari.

"Seriously, this is the last one. I think I've finally found the one."

"You think? Buddy, that's what you said the last time. You're far from it."

"Man, you're just jealous I'm gonna get married first, aren't you?"

"Let me take you on a spin," Jake turned on the car and drove out. "What are the fellas gonna say when they hear about this? Luke from the Ballers Crew is married? Pss."

"Listen, I'm no longer part of the crew. It's not like you're still part of the crew, you haven't attended none of our parties recently."

"Yeah I know buddy, just that things been hectic at the company, but I swear I'll make it up to you."

"Make it up to who? Buddy, I'm even glad you came through to my crib today. Besides my Batchelor's party coming up in a few weeks, tonight, we're going to the most prestigious boat party you've ever seen."

"Boat party? Nah."

"Dude listen. Last time you were drunk in a club full of stunning women, you said none of them were worthy of you no more."

"That was just the alcohol talking."

"No, it wasn't. Jake, you left the party drunk and not a single chick by your side. That's never happened. It's time to admit it man, you're sick of this lifestyle. You want something more, don't you?" Luke returned a stern glare.

"Well, I've got to admit," Jake said, glancing out at the beautiful women walking on the pavement. "I've got to admit, I feel empty. I feel like I need something different, someone different, all this-"

"Damn, how long you been feeling like this? This is serious," said Luke stroking his hair.

"Maybe a month ago," answered Jake, "my folks been nagging me about getting a wife and start having some kids. All this ain't even necessary, I'm still enjoying my life. Anyway, eversince the last few times we been partying out, I been tryna find a unique girl you know. Someone good enough to take to my folks. Maybe they will let this go if they found out I've got a serious relationship."

Luke's face brightened, "you see, that's exactly why you gotta come to this boat party tonight. The attendies of these boat parties are no ordinary people. Only the rich and famous attend, even wealthy women with low profiles attend. So, I'm definitely sure you will find a lady that's exquisite and different. Trust me on this one."

"Alright, I'll give it a shot," said a defeated Jake, turning the car around. "As for this car, you'll have to trade it in for a Bugatti yourself."

"I said Lamborghini, fool."

And the two of them laughed.
