Viktor’s POV

I stared into her teary eyes and sighed.

“Yes, but don’t think I won’t punish you for trying to hide something from me again,” I said. She nodded her head and stepped away. I was angry with her for certain.. but I knew they were hiding something, and with her bruising, I knew it had something to do with that.

When I called for Beatrice, I saw the hesitation in her eyes before she told me. I wanted to rip Violette up and punish her, but I knew it would be of no use. There are a lot of things I can tolerate, but lying is not one of them.. I just couldn’t bring myself to punish her, as her mate is already doing that.

“You may leave if you wish,” I said. If she wasn’t feeling up to walking down the hall, I suppose I wouldn’t be against her sleeping in the floor. It’s not like it was just bare concrete, there’s a fluffy rug and a pillow down there, and I gave her my comforter to cover up with. So.. it’s not entirely uncomfortable.
