Gwyneth is lost

Two days have passed...

"I'll visit my friend's office briefly for work matters," Axel said as he put on his shoes, sitting on the edge of the bed with his back to Gwyneth, who was lying sideways, her hair all messy. "Don't you want to come?" he asked, turning to Gwyneth.

"No," Gwyneth murmured. "I'll stay here... My foot still hurts," she continued.

Axel immediately pulled back the blanket covering Gwyneth's foot and then noticed a slight bruise around the stitches.

"Hmm, I think you should see a doctor," he said. "We'll go to the hospital after I come back... Maybe in the afternoon," he continued, covering Gwyneth's foot again with the blanket.

Gwyneth remained silent, seeming to have lost her spirit.

"Now I'm off..." Axel bent down, kissed Gwyneth's lips briefly, then quickly left the bed.

Gwyneth stayed silent, letting Axel leave the room. She stared at the ceiling, feeling bored, haunted by Dominic's face, worrying if he was waiting for her while she didn't know how to find him,
