SASHA POV
"Sasha, focus," Luis growls after landing yet another punch.
"I don't feel like training Luis," I say before turning away.
I sit down on the weight bench and look back at Luis. He has one of his hands over his eyes and the other on his waist. I can tell I am frustrating the man who pledged himself to be my guard, but I can't help it.
Why should I train? My parents are never going to allow me to fight or even see a battlefield. I'm the spoiled and pampered Princess of Riverstone. No one my age will even attempt to befriend me. My only friends are Luis and Roland, my guards. My parents didn't even allow me to attend school. I had a private tutor. I'm an 18-year-old wolf with no life.
My schedule consists of training, reading, hanging out with my little brother, training some more, and reading. If I leave the house, my parents have to know, and I have to have at least one of my guards. I understand my parent's overprotective nature when it comes to my well-being; I really do.
My fathers lost close to 300 pups in a vampire attack. I alone survived because my cousin was smart enough to put me in a panic room secret hole. Yeah, you read that right; I have two fathers—the Kings, Jackson and Jason Stone.
During the great war, female werewolves were being hunted and killed. To combat this, the kings, my dads, started a breeding program. They wanted to repopulate werewolf numbers. For ten years, my fathers bred humans. They created almost 300 lives before meeting their mate, my mom, Queen Amelia. When the breeding program was ended, a traitor let the vampire king into our lands. My brothers, sisters, and cousins were all murdered.
So I understand why they want me safe, especially my biological dad, Jackson. The thing that gets to me, though, is my baby brother is living a regular life. He is attending a traditional school. He doesn't have a guard, and most of all, he has friends.
Today is Ethan's thirteenth birthday, and I have decided to put my foot down. I am going to demand some independence. I am royal. I should have some kind of royal duty. I am one of the best fighters in our pack. I can protect myself if needed. They have to ease up on the leash!
"Sasha, you need to train," Luis groans from the mat, and I growl.
I pick up my water bottle from next to the bench and take a drink.
"Luis, don't you ever get tired of babysitting me? I mean, all we do is train, and then you watch me read. We both have no life," I say, and he drops his arms down.
His frustrated face morphs into a knowing smirk.
"I was wondering when you were going to crack," Luis says, walking off the mat and taking a seat on the machine next to me.
"What do you mean," I ask, watching the man who hasn't left my side since I was five years old.
"For years, I have watched your frustration grow. When your parents allowed your brother to go to school and not you, I thought you would blow. But you have stayed obedient. If I were you, I would have started to rebel a lot sooner," Luis says while wiping his brow with a towel.
I laugh, and he watches me with twinkling eyes.
"I always thought that when I turned 18, they would ease up, but that was eight months ago. I'm still not allowed to do anything. I've never even left Riverstone. Mom is training me to be the queen until Ethan finds his mate. Since he is immortal like them, who knows when she will be born. But how can I be a good queen when I haven't seen anything past our border," I say loudly while throwing my arms up in frustration.
"Discuss it with them. They should be in the office right now. Ethan's party isn't until five. Let's go talk to them," Luis says, standing to his feet, and I smile.
He holds his hand out for mine, and I grab it. He pulls me to my feet, and we head to my parent's main office. "Here goes nothing."
*"**********
"Mom, Dads," I say while knocking and opening the door.
"What is it, honey," Mom asks, not looking up from her computer.
Both my dads look Luis and I over before smiling at me.
"I want to discuss me taking on more responsibility. I feel useless," I say while taking a seat in one of the available chairs in front of their desks.
Mom stops typing and looks up at me. "What kind of responsibility," she asks.
I shrug.
"Maybe something off pack lands. I have never been anywhere else," I say, and one of my dads growls loudly.
I groan internally as my Father Jackson gets that look in his eye.
"You are a royal Sasha. It is dangerous for you to leave," dad says, and I snap.
I have never back-talked my parents. I have always behaved like a dutiful daughter, just like I was trained to.
"ETHAN IS ALLOWED TO LEAVE PACK LANDS! HE HAS BEEN TO NEIGHBORING PACKS! HE WILL GET TO ATTEND HUMAN HIGH SCHOOL LIKE ALL THE OTHER PUPS! HE IS ROYAL! IS IT BECAUSE I AM FEMALE," I shout at my father as I jump to my feet.
He doesn't even growl at me. He is too shocked. The room is silent as my parents look me over. Luis clears his throat, and my parents snap their eyes to him.
"If I may your majesty, Sasha has a point. She is strong, capable, and intelligent. Why is she being kept in the house and the gym? If you plan to have her lead next to Ethan eventually, then she needs experience," Luis says, and my parents shift uncomfortably.
"You do intend to name me queen until Ethan's mate is found, right," I ask my mom, and she looks at my dads for a split second.
"Mom.....," I say, and she sighs.
"I gave you that training in case of an emergency. Honey, we probably won't name Ethan king for a long time. He is immortal, honey. He won't be getting the title at 18 like a normal wolf. I'm sorry you thought he would be named Alpha so soon......Sasha..... You might be mated or even gone by the time he gains the title," mom says in a voice barely above a whisper.
My face pales as the blood leaves my face. Father stands to his feet and moves around the desk quickly, but I back up and growl before he can hug me. Dad Jason stands up as he takes in my actions.
"Sasha, we love you. We didn't mean to mislead you," Dad Jason says, and my tear-filled eyes land on his face.
I choke back a sob as I take in my parents and their varied expressions of guilt and regret.
"So the mortal royal gets shoved to the side and forgotten. I'm supposed to exist, not live until I die," I say around my sobs.
Tears run down my face as I dart from my parent's office with Luis hot on my heels. Father yells my name, but I don't stop. ...
THIRD POV
Jackson throws himself back into his seat and puts his head in his hands. Amelia stands up and begins to rub her mate's shoulders.
"We should have given her some pack duties months ago," Jason groans while looking at Amelia and Jackson.
"I just want her safe," Jackson says while slamming his hands down on the desk.
"Jacks, baby, she deserves freedom. I know you want to keep her under lock and key, but we can't," Amelia says, moving to look into Jackson's eyes.
She places a hand on his cheek and waits. Jackson takes deep breaths as he regains his composure.
"Jacks, why are you so paranoid about Sasha's safety. Ethan is just as vulnerable," Jason asks, and Jackson growls.
Jackson stands to his feet and paces the room while his mates watch him. He growls and rubs the back of his neck before turning towards them.
"She will leave us. SHE WILL DIE, just like everyone else. My daughter will die," Jackson shouts before turning and punching the wall multiple times.
Amelia and Jason stay silent as Jackson takes out his frustration on the drywall. When he finally pulls away and faces them, they see his tears.
"She is growing so fast. Before we know it, she will have grey hair and wrinkles. I want to spend as much time with her as we possibly can. I've kept her locked away to ensure I get that time. I know it isn't fair to her.....but she is my pup. We have watched everyone die. And now we have to watch our child age and wither just as they did. Ethan will always be with us. But Sasha..," Jackson sobs.
Jason looks at Amelia, and Amelia nods.
Amelia walks over to Jackson and takes his hands. Jason comes over and places his hand on Jackson's shoulder. Ease and comfort fill their bond.
"It is time to let her go," Jason says in a soft voice.
Jackson looks at his twin with begging eyes, but Jason shakes his head.
"I already know what task she will be perfect for," Amelia says, and Jackson turns to stare at the woman he loves.
A short moment of tension fills the space as Jason and Amelia wait for Jackson to accept his daughter is now an adult. Finally, he yields by nodding his head. He pulls Amelia into his arms and kisses her head while Jason hugs his mates.
SASHA POV"Happy Birthday Ethan," the group of pre-teens yell as I sip my lemonade.I watch my baby brother blush, and I smile. I can't help the love that fills my chest as I watch him open present after present. Although I am jealous of his life, I love him more than anyone. He is the sweetest boy around. While many of his friends act ashamed of their sisters, my brother typically follows me around like a lost puppy. He constantly asks me to train with him, and he includes me when he plays video games. He is such a handsome kid too. He already has a following of females, and it is so funny to watch. He never knows how to respond when one of them compliments him. He is tall for his age, and he looks like our dads, but he has mom's blue eyes. Outsiders always think we are full siblings since mom can pass for my biological mother. I have the same color of blonde hair as our mom, and our faces are similar, but I
SASHA POV"Do you think I should cut my hair back off before we leave," I ask the two men lounging on the couch in my room.Luis shrugs, but Roland raises his eyebrows."Why," Roland asks, and I shrug this time before answering."The long hair is so messy. I have to style it, but with my bob, I get up and go. I'm the princess.....shouldn'tI try to look more put together for the other packs," I say uneasily. My insecurity is screaming out loud and clear. I have no idea how to dress or appear professional. Rules, fighting, and laws, I know, but politics. Shaking hands and fake smiling have never been my strong suit. The closest people in my life share a look before looking back at me."The packs will be more than happy to meet you, Sasha," Luis declares, and I roll my eyes."You should do what makes you most comfortable. During this tour, we will be meeting with many Alphas and many Lunas, but we will be on training fields for the
SASHA POV"Father, I am flying in planes owned by us," I groan as he nitpicks at something else.Roland laughs as he watches my Father, but my other parents and Luis are patiently waiting himout. I guess they figure he has to run out of complaints eventually, but I know him. He is trying to get my flight delayed. He knows that even though we own the plane, it is still on a schedule with air patrol."He isn't going to stop," Ethan mumbles from next to me.I sigh loudly, "I know.""How are you holding up Bub," I ask Ethan as I tear my eyes off of my insane Father.Ethan shrugs before kicking his foot at an invisible rock. He barely glances at me before the first tear falls. I immediately wrap my arms around my brother."I'm not going to be gone forever," I say as his emotional dam breaks against my shoulder. My shirt is getting wet, but I don't mind. Ethan and I have always been close. This separation will be hard on both o
SASHA POVI want to hate her, but I can't—everything about her screams sweet and elegant. Her manners are impeccable, and she iscompletely breathtaking. Her chocolate hair and eyes look great against her tan skin. She has beautiful lips and a model-like figure. Her height matches mine, but she moves with an elegance I will never possess. After she dropped me at my room, she left with Luis and Roland to show them theirs. I then had myself a good cry.Roland is pissed. He caught the Alpha "checking me out," his words, outside and thinks Alpha Ben is disrespectful. He also seems upset that the Alpha claimed Chelsea as his Luna, but she is unmarked. Both Luis and Roland are very much like my mom and me. We believe a wolf should only be with their Goddess given mate. So as soon as Roland finished unpacking, he came barging into my room to vent.I pinch Roland's underarm as he opens his mouth to speak again.Sasha- hush, let Luis handle it. Your attitude
ALPHA BENHer howl rips through my heart as it echoes into the night sky. Never in my life have I felt so defeated. She hadn't listened to me. She had interrupted and put words in my mouth. But her words were valid.I don't know what I want. Foryears I searched for my mate, but I guess I truly did give up on her being alive. I gave up, and I moved on. I moved on and chose a person to spend my life with—a great person at that.Ace- But you didn't mark herAce's grumble rattles me even more, and I sigh. Chelsea has asked me several times about marking in the past, and I always told her that we should both wait. I mainly wanted to give Chelsea's mate a chance at finding her. But I had also told myself it would be disrespectful to the Goddess to place a mark on a she-wolf who wasn't my mateBen- Ace, this is a messAce- you have wanted our mate, but now you are hesitating! Why? Why hesitate? Tell Chelsea the truth.Ben- it isn't tha
PLEASE LEAVE REVIEWS IT HELPS MY STORIES!!! I NEED TO KNOW WHERE I CAN IMPROVE OR WHAT I AM DOING RIGHT. THANK YOU ALPHA BEN"THE PRINCESS IS YOUR MATE," Vince shouts, and I growl loudly."Shut up," I order, and he thumps down in one of my office chairs."I haven't told Chelsea," I disclose in a low voice."Ben, this is the kings' daughter we are talking about. Do you realize what you have done by parading a chosen mate in front of her," Vince says before gripping his own hair like he is the one stressed out."I am aware, but Vince, I can't just drop Chelsea. She is important to me, to this pack," I say before standing up and pacing behind my office chair."You think our pack wouldn't accept the princess as their luna," Vince asks with disbelief in his voice."I don't know. She is young. I don't know anything about her personality. She has never been away from her home pack.....and I know how sheltered Jackson kept her. She doesn't have the maturity level that Chelsea has," I say, try
SASHA POVI stay silent as Luis and Roland chain the filthy man to a metal chair that looks to be cemented into the ground. Ben is standing against the wall and glaring at me, but Iignore him. I don't care if he feels as if I disrespected him in front of his pack; this is what I have been trained for.My parents and Luis have spent years honing my muscles and my mind for assassination attempts. I know how to fight. I know how to interrogate. I know how to tell false information from the truth. I have done nothing but train for this moment. Ben can scowl and act like a pup all he wants. This was an attack on my life, and I will be the one to gather the facts from this pile of trash.Sasha- I need a blade and a bottle of wolfsbane.Roland- I brought my bag it is on the table. There are pliers and a saw in the bag also.Sasha- perfect. Luis, is he bound?Luis- yes. Even his neck is restrained.Sasha- let's begin. Stay silent until
SASHA POVI put my parents on speaker and set my phone on the middle console in the car. Luis gives me a side glare, but I ignore him. "SASHA STONE, YOU WILL OBEY ME," Father yells through the earpiece just as I thought he would. "Father, Mom, and dad both agree with me. You have been outvoted. Why can't you just believe in me and my abilities," I ask while letting my frustration and hurt ring in my voice. I am so tired of my Father acting as if I am incapable. I understand his love is driving his fear, but sometimes it is as if he doubts me. "Sasha, this isn't about how strong you are. This is about what is the safest option," Father growls, and I hear mom sigh. "Jacks, our daughter is a first-born descendant. Her wolf is faster, stronger, and larger than 80% of all werewolves. She has the upper hand even when she is out
