Chapter 95

Derrick’s POV

“Hit me,” Lenny said as he leaned against the counter.

I stared down at the glass of tequila in front of me. Returning my gaze to him, I raised the glass to my lips and emptied the contents into my mouth. A strong, burning sensation traveled down my throat as the liquid made its way through. Lenny patiently waited for me to be done with all that.

Barely two seconds after the first shot, my throat was already itching for another. “It’s a long story, but I’ll give you a quick summary,” I said to Lenny, pushing the empty glass towards him.

He received it and refilled it faster than I could prepare my story. Once I had the glass in my hand, I started narrating my plight to him. He listened with rapt attention as I told him everything starting from when Eliana arrived at Emerald to when Oliver started his witch hunt for us, to how the whole thing ended.
