Chapter 3: Waking Up

Claire's POV:

A groan passes my lips as I turn a little on my side to feel pain scatter through my whole body.

"Claire" a woman's voice said causing me to feel confused, it didn't sound like my mother.

"Claire" the woman called my name again trying to open my eye's a bright light shines causing me to shut them tightly.

"Oops, sorry hun" the woman said with a little giggle in her voice.

"Mikael, make it a bit darker would you" her voice asked softly causing the man to groan a little.

"Fine, Elizabeth" his griff voice sounded out "and tune it down yourself how do you and Eli expect the angels to learn if you don't do it yourself" the man finished.

"You can open your eye's now" the woman said, so slowly I peak my left eye open to see the blonde woman in all white next to my bed smiling brightly.

All of my memories suddenly flashed back at me causing me to gasp and move backwards towards the wall.

"It's alright" she said softly while reaching out to me.

"Don't touch me" I said roughly pulling myself as far away from her as I could.

She lets out a loud sigh pulling her hand back "we don't want to hurt you Claire" she said softly.

I let out a loud emotionless laugh "you don't want to hurt me" I said in between my laughter.

Anger filled my veins as the smile dropped from my face "if you didn't want to hurt me then you wouldn't have broken into my home and hurt my family" I said venom lacing my every word as I got off the bed stepping closer to her causing her eye's to widen.

"Don't be intimidated, she is only a child" the demons voice rang out or at least that's what I think he is.

Turning my head over I look at him "but I'm quiet excited to keep her around" he said smirking his dark eyes staring into my blue grey one's.

"Well, is she up?" another voice came as the door opened "oh, looks like she is" looking over I see another woman but this one was wearing a deep red.

Her killer cheekbones looked as if they were almost engraved in her face "Im Vera" she said reaching her hand out to me.

I look down at her hand and then up to her eye's that looked almost like a blood shot red when she realized I wouldn't place my hand in hers she retracted.

"I would like to apologize for your earlier experience due to my husband Vincent" she said like I'd know who that was.

She watches as I shaked my head, eyebrows furrowed and shrug my shoulders all at the same time.

"The man you stabbed" she clarified causing my eye's to widen "I'm glad someone finally put the man in his place he's so cocky" she said crossing her arms before looking back at me.

"Anyway it's nice to meet you Claire, we'll be seeing a lot more of each other now that your starting school" she said smiling.

"Im sorry, school?" I questioned out causing her eye's to widen.

"You haven't told her yet Elizabeth?" she questioned the blonde.

"Well, no" Elizabeth said quietly almost cautiously "sh-she's only just awoken" she stuttered out.

The cheekbone lady let out a deep sigh her straight black hair being let down from a tight ponytail while she shakes her head in dissaprovement.

"We will have to discuss this later then Elizabeth" she said harshly causing me to feel shocked at her sudden behavior change.

"Anyway" she said looking back at me "this is a school for supernatural children" she said placing a hand on my shoulder "you'll learn everything you need here" she finished smiling softly.

"Supernatural?" I questioned.

Vera looked confused and looked over to Elizabeth "she doesn't know anything" Elizabeth whispered with her head down avoiding eye contact.

"Oh" Vera said raising an eyebrow while staring at me "well that makes things a bit more complicated" she stated finally letting go of my shoulder.

"I'll let you explain, my husband should be up soon" Vera stated before nodding her head at me and exiting the room.

As soon as she left, Elizabeth let out a shaky breath causing me to look over at her.

"Ill go to Melissa must be waiting" Mikael said before stepping out of the room.

Placing my foot down I feel a sudden pain "ow" I gasp quickly bringing my foot up off of the ground.

"Oh, I didn't have time when you were sleeping, here" Elizabeth said bringing me back towards the bed and raising up my foot.

"What's the supernatural?" I questioned "is it like what you read in books" I asked causing her to laugh a little bit while shaking her head.

"I wish all of our lives were that simple" she said before looking up at me through her eye lashes "I need a werewolf give me just one moment Claire" she said standing up and exiting the room.

'How the fuck do they know my name? A school for the supernatural? Why would they need me?' the questions swirled around in my head.

The door opened again and Elizabeth walked in with a man, looking at him closely I recognize him, he's the man that held my mother down on the ground my body tenses as I glare in his direction.

"I see you recognize me" he said looking down at me "Im only here so you don't feel the pain" he stated quietly reaching for my hand but I snatch it away.

"Don't make it harder then it has to be" he stated sternly causing me to take a deep breath.

He holds his hand out, his palm facing upward while he looked at me expectantly.

Slowly I place my hand in his, as soon as I do he closes his eye's and the pain I was feeling quickly went away causing me to let out a content sigh.

"Im Charles" he said causing me to look at him.

"Id tell you my name, but for some reason you all already seem to know it" I stated causing him to let out a chuckle.

"You have a point there" he stated.

"Do you have a wife?" I asked causing him to look at me wide eyed.

"Why, are you interested?" he asked tauntingly.

My face quickly goes to one full of disgust "definitely not, everyone else I've met has been married" I stated "but weirdly enough they all have had the same first letter in their name" I continued causing the man to chuckle loudly.

"Im so happy someone else is weirded out by that" he stated shaking his head.

"Also, I do have a wife, her name is Amelia" he stated almost dreamy like causing me to giggle.

"Well, Im glad your a little normal" I stated, after a few more minutes he lets go of my hand and I see part of a branch laying on the table while Elizabeth wraps up my foot.

"So what do you mean by supernatural" I asked again.

"Well, there's five kinds" Elizabeth stated "demons, vampires, witches, angels like myself and" but before she could finish she was cut off.

"And werewolves like me" Charles stated confidently.

"Well, I see your a little biased towards favorites" I said causing him to shrug and me to roll my eyes.

"Anyway, here everyone is taught to control their powers and learn their status in life" Elizabeth explained whispering the last part.

"Why am I here though, Im none of those things" I stated but hear Charles laugh again.

Looking over he looks at me with a side grin "your here to learn your abilities, normally the students already know and come without a fight" he continued, before fully turning to look at me "but you just had to be a bit more difficult" he finished.

"The elders sent us to bring you, like they do with every other student" he stated looking me up and down "usually parents are proud, but yours" he shaked his head "wanted to hide you away" he finished.

"What are the-" but before I could finish I was cut off by the doorknob banging against the wall.
