AYLA

The sound of the helicopter blades echoed in my ears, loud and constant. The wind inside the cabin whipped against my face, but I barely felt it. All I could do was stare at Slade.

He lay motionless on a gurney beside me, his chest rising and falling too slowly. His skin was pale, almost gray. The straps around him held his body steady, but nothing could hold back the fear crushing my chest.

His eyes didn’t open. He hadn’t moved since the hemorrhaging.

Silvia sat across from me, her hand gently wrapped around mine. Her grip was warm, grounding. She was shaking too, though she tried to hide it.

“He’s going to be okay,” she said softly, her eyes locking with mine. “He’s strong, Ayla. Stronger than anyone I know.”

I nodded, but I didn’t believe it. Not yet. Not when he looked like this.

Damon sat near the cockpit, tense, staring straight ahead. One hand rested on his sword, like he didn’t know how to relax, even now. Riven was beside him, blood still staining his armor, jaw tight, e

AYLA“It's not safe to be here,” Riven said to me as we walked through the streets of Mercia, looking for the bar the locator spell showed me.“Why's that?” I asked him, adjusting the vein over my head.“This place is called the badlands. People outside from the palace are crowded here,” he said to me.“Then why is Maria here, she is a lady of the Queen,” I said to him.“She was probably ousted, or looking for someone who is,” I sighed. Whatever Maria is doing here, it's probably the former. Maybe Damon finally found out she was the one behind the potions not me.“We are here,” I said, and Riven stood in front of me.“If things get rough in there, I might not be able to protect you,” he said, and I shook my head.“I think I have shown I can protect myself,” I said to him.“One battle doesn't prove that,” he scolded like friends do.I rolled my eyes but didn’t argue. Riven meant well, even if he was being overprotective. The bar looked worn down from the outside, with cracks in the woo

AYLAI watched the birds sing in the morning dew as I stared from my window. For the first time in days since I arrived back at the palace I slept on my bed in my chambers. There have been no improvement in Slade since the last time, and the healers are working around the clock. Silvia had to force me out to refresh, but my mind was still on Slade, and the words she had said to me.“My lady,” I heard a familiar voice, and I smiled. “Tara,” I got up, and hugged her. “It's been way too long,” I said, and she smiled. I looked to her side to see Fay, and the other maids assigned to me.“Fay,” I said her name with distaste. I don't know why Damon hasn't removed her from my service, maybe to keep on spying on me. In case I have other plans to disappear.“I'm at your service, Lady Ayla,” she said, and I scoffed slightly.I stepped back from the hug and looked Tara over. She looked the same, warm eyes, soft smile, always calm even when the world felt like it was breaking.“I’m glad you’re

AYLAI felt a movement underneath my palm, and my head jerked up. He moved, it's been four days since he has been laying lifeless on this bed but he moved.“Help!” I yelled, “he is moving,” I couldn't contain my joy. The healers rushed into the room at the sound of my voice and checked on him. Silvia rushed in as well, holding me to prevent me from falling.“What's going on?” I asked when the countenance of the healer didn't change.“He didn't move, my lady,” one of them said, and I scoffed. “He did,” I tried moving closer to him but I was stopped.“His condition still remains the same. Nothing has changed,” I rushed to Slade's side, and held his hand.“I believe in you,” I said with tears gathering in my eyes. “Show them what I believe in,” I held his hands up for them to see, but he didn't move.“I'm sorry, you felt what you wanted to feel,” the healer said, and they all walked out.“I felt him move his hands, Silvia,” I said to her after a while. “I know,” she moved closer to me,

AYLAMy heart felt heavy as I stared at Ivy. Her eyes burned with anger, but behind that rage, I saw something else… pain. Confusion. Fear. She had no idea what the truth really was.“He’s your brother,” I said again, my voice shaking. “Slade didn’t kill your mother, Ivy. He never would.”She blinked fast, like the words didn’t make sense. “That’s a lie,” she whispered, stepping back. “You’re just saying that because you care about him.”“No,” I shook my head. “I’m saying it because it’s the truth.”Selene looked down at the ground, quiet now. She didn’t try to stop me, didn’t defend Ivy, didn’t speak at all. That silence told me everything I needed to know, she already knew. She’d been keeping the truth from Ivy this whole time.“You knew,” I said, pointing at her. “You knew and still let her hate him.”“You shouldn't talk about things you don't understand,” Selene finally spoke, and I scoffed.“You shouldn't manipulate people to get what you want,” I said and she laughed hystericall

  • The Promised Luna   Chapter 64!I love him…. That's what saved him!

AYLA“Slade!! No!!” I yelled as I dropped to the ground with his body in my arms.“Hold on!” I continued screaming, trying to stop the bleeding with my hands. Warm, thick blood covered my fingers. It wouldn’t stop. I pressed harder, my whole body shaking. His bloody hand covered mine, trying to stop me.“What are you doing?” I asked through the tears. My voice cracked. I couldn’t stop crying.“Let me,” he whispered. His eyes… they were losing their shine. That spark I think I love…fading.“No, no, no. Don’t do this,” I sobbed. “You promised. You said you’d always come for me. You can’t leave me now.”“I’m here,” he whispered. His voice was barely there.I placed my hand on his cheek. “Stay with me. Please, Slade. You can’t leave. Not like this.”His blood poured down his throat. He choked, coughing weakly.“Don’t talk. Just breathe. We’ll fix this. I’ll heal you. I can try….” I stopped, because I didn’t know how. My powers haven't worked on him for the longest time.I could hear a lot
