Chapter Fifty Eight.Nicholas's POV.At the exact time that I stepped into her office, I close my eyes, take a whiff of the air, spread out my arms, allow my hearings pick on any low reverberation, allow my mind crawl the walls, but I found nothing, and it all came back as a reverse, and I'm walking one step after the other into her office. Staring at the window from which she fell, it isn't broken which is a surprise. I may have thought this was the work of Hunters, but I'm beginning to think in another direction. If the glassy walls aren't broken and there's no proof that anything happens here, you know, as though anything that can show the existence of something supernatural happening here has all be erased, or let's say reserved, that I can't even smell the scent of Olivia who was here, as neither can I smell the scent of Anastasia, I am beginning to think this is clearly not a Werewolf or a Hunter's job. They can't hide everything. This must have been done with something more p
Chapter Fifty Nine. Anastasia's POV.I have been awake for half an hour now, but it's as though I am locked inside my own consciousness. Then, a few minutes ago, I began to feel even more alive, but it still wasn't enough. However, this time around, I could hear the sounds of people breathing in the distance, the feelings that surge through their body. It's a lot of emotions, but somehow, I am more attracted to the strong ones. My empathy has been causing an internal distress for me that isn't being revealed medically. Suddenly, I can open my eyes, but my body remains locked in place. For some reasons, I feel no fear, instead I just remain calm and let things work out themselves. My breathing is back to normal. I cannot recognize the room that I'm inside. Wandering my eyes around the ceilings, I figured that this isn't my room. Then, shifting my face to the side, I see Kyra. She's resting her head on the side of the bed, seated on a chair next to me. I could hear her soft snores
Chapter Sixty. Unedited. Anastasia's POV. Kyra and Olivia has spent the past twenty minutes or so to get to know each other. They look cute together and have some likewise hobbies, which has helped in improving their conversations. On my hand, I'm focused on finishing the food. They did not even indulge me in the discussion, so I can focus on getting food in me. I am done now and Kyra is the first to talk, "so, the doctor called me in earlier to say that your reports says you're okay now and you can be discharged in the evening. It's still morning, so perhaps we should talk about your plans? Do you go back to working or come home for some break?" She says it as though she would even be around. I'd be bored out of my life. "And I'll be around. I don't have any gig to work on, so..." She trails off, unintentionally answering my unsaid question. I mouth is kept opened for a minute. "Wait, you aren't joking?" "Of course. Why would I?" Yeah, why would she? I find myself nodding,
Chapter Sixty One.Unedited.Anastasia's POV.I smile when Kyra's hand grips mine slightly harder. She has her fingers interwined with mine. "I have a question to ask? And it might be so ridiculous?" She states, her eyes on mine. If Kyra is asking for permission, then trust me, that question is going to give me a hard time to answer. "Could it be that you're in love with your boss?" As she says, my face shifts to meet her gaze and a frown plasters onto it. "Are you seriously asking that right now?" Before she could talk, I add, "I'm still on the sickbed and you're asking that. Seriously?" I don't know why my voice is tight and why my breathing has accelerated, but that question sparks something in me that I never thought. She raises her hands up, sounding unworried, "well, you don't need to be worried. I'm just asking.""Why?" She looks like she's searching her brain for an answer, "well, first of all, you did not seem to have an issue when I told you that your boss hasn't been
Chapter Sixty Two.Nicholas's POV.My monster is out, and we are coming for them. The moment I land on the water, I create an invisible tightness in the air and use the aid of gravity to make it hit the water behind me repeatedly, as I race towards Hillary's ship. The water behind me make a ripple, folding up continuously as it rises into the air. An act of levitating water with a fold of nature. I am creating a wave of water behind me that's forming a massive fold. The sound of the water as it crashes, stashing up reaches my hearing and I smile, devilishly. My monster has been provoked by Anastasia leaving and with this coming up, I am not in a state where I'm thinking twice. Although I am not as angry as I would have been expected to, but I'm still pissed. This time, pissed at everything. In the distance, I see the ship Xander's on. I can already sense him there, quicker, because of the mind-link connection, and the one of the Werewolves, "there," he says with an unfazed tone, ta
Chapter Sixty Three. Nicholas's POV. Unedited. I turn my face to the back as I open the door to my study room, gesturing with my hand that Hillary should head in first. He chuckles and pushes me inside. I shake my head, as I crack up, too. The room is dim but my vision works perfectly in here, so I need not shift the curtains. He hums, as he finds himself comfort. He's taken a space on a couch at the side of the room, next to the wall. "So, the drink." "Patience." I tell him. "Only if you have an idea the ones I've had in the past months." He tells me. To be honest, I understand his reasons to wanting to meet the ones he cares so much about. He's been away for a long time. I am certain that if he opens his mind to me, I'd see that he misses Anastasia. And speaking of her, I wish to discuss my past doings with Hillary. I know he would kill me, but at this point, I have no choice than to, or else, I might put her in more trouble than the one I have. Plus, he's had an idea
Chapter.Anastasia's POV.Unedited. "No.""Yes."I am sounding dramatic, my voice raised, "no, please," then I make my facial expression one that gives the puppy eyes look."Oh, please, don't use that on me. Trust me, this series is interesting," says Kyra, countering me. I shake my head as I fight with the air. I am sitting on the same couch with her. We have a bowl of popcorn on the floor and a bottle of champagne. I have dropped my wine cup a few minutes ago when we fought for the remote, but of course, she won. "We've watched it for how many times now?" I ask, and she hums, her brain reeling for an answer. "Well...""Just let's check some anime series or something." I say and find myself yawning, lightly. Strangely enough, the Champagne makes me feel sleepy. "Oh, yes, I know one." I huff. "No, I am serious." And she sounds serious, so I am giving her the benefit of the doubt. We have the TV on casting, so her phone is connected to it. I place my sight on the television screen
Chapter Sixty Four.Anastasia's POV.Is it just me, being suspicious for no reason?Perhaps. That can only make sense. I have been questioning myself, but tonight I felt it again. I am outside with Kyra. We have just finished with today's activities, which involves nothing that we haven't been doing since I came back with her. Again, we went to the store, because we've eaten all the snacks in the house. Then, we went to the Cinema to rewatch Black Adam, at least, on that, I'm glad that we both love the movie. Afterward, we spent the remains of the day at the ice cream shop that's a few blocks away. Seemingly enough, which Kyra wouldn't agree with me, the guy at the shop likes her, but Kyra, on the other hand, finds him as someone she could tease and because of that, we are just going back home. When I checked the time, which was a few minutes ago, it says ten minutes after nine, in the evening. The sky has gotten darkened, and the black clouds spread all through. There is no moon
