‘Shit!’ I cursed lightly as my skin got scalded as I rammed my hand into a hot cup of coffee.
‘Hell shit! I'll be damned!’ I cursed even loudly.
“Language, Callie! Language!” My mom yelled at me and I hissed more before dabbing off the stains from the table and placing my hand under running water to dampen the burning sensation.
“We're gonna be late for school Callie, hurry up!” A female voice called out from outside.
I grabbed my backpack, threw it on my back and sprinted out of the house, waving my mom and baby brother goodbye. I got into a car and shut the door behind me.
“You're early today princess.”
“Shut up and drive Xyla!” I snickered.
Xyla chuckled and ignited the car engine, driving away from the hood. “You look hurt, boy are you in a mood today!”
“I burnt my hand with hot coffee, how stupid can that be?” I complained bitterly and she laughed at me. I threw her a friendly punch and she chuckled, we both laughed and gisted all the way down to school.
She pulled over at the parking lot and we both got out, luckily; we got to school ten minutes early. Barely had we stepped foot in the building that we were surrounded by other girls.
“Hi Xyla, it's nice to see you back in school.”
“Your hair looks beautiful.”
“You've changed your car?”
“You look refreshed!”
I smiled bitterly, seeing that all the attention was on her but she grabbed my arm and drew me closer, sending off a subtle message that I was with her and the girls frowned, seeing this and made some lame excuse before leaving.
“It's good to be back at school, isn't it?” I asked her, rhetorically.
“C'mon Callie, we just resumed a new semester, cheer up!” Xyla advised me as we walked towards our classroom. We have the same classes this semester so we're going to be basically inseparable.
“If it isn't my fairy princess.”
We looked up to see Tyler, a teenager around our age, jet black hair, slick kicks, a decent outfit and a face to die for approach us. He wrapped his hands around Xyla’s waist and kissed her fully on the lips.
“Tyler.” She moaned against his lips.
I chuckled embarrassedly and excused myself, going into the classroom.
“Hi Cal, looking hot!” Tyler shouted after me and I acknowledged him with a gentle nod. He's Xyla's mate and ever since they realized this last year, they've been madly in love.
I got to my seat and sat down quietly. There were other students gossiping and bragging about their holidays and whatnot and I rolled my eyes, repulsed.
“If it isn't Calliope, Xyla's personal servant. What are you doing here? Haven't your scholarship ended?” A tiny and irritatingly high-pitched voice mocked.
I looked up to see Thalia, dressed up like a doll with Melissa and Rivera standing right behind her, they laughed at her stupid joke and I rolled my eyes at them.
“Go away Thalia, I don't want trouble.” I warned her, lowly.
“Oh, the poor girl doesn't want any trouble, where did you get your clothes? Isn't it the same ones you wore last semester? So last season.” Thalia insulted, loudly. This drew the attention of other students and they laughed at me.
“Go away.” I muttered.
She brought out a bottle of perfume and sprayed it around me, emptying the entire bottle as if I were stinking. “That's better, this place smells less of lowlifes,”
They were all laughing and I fought the urge to bang her head into the table but she was Thalia Flinch, daughter of Alpha Flinch, the infamously ruthless and powerful alpha of the north, insanely wealthy and shady, it would be like digging my own grave.
“Please, leave me alone.” I whispered as I began to flip through the pages of my note. She suddenly grabbed my bag and rummaged through it. I tried taking it but her minions blocked me.
“That doesn't belong to you! Give it back!” I yelled in despair as she got a hold of my diary, her eyes twinkling with mischief.
“Give it back to her Thalia!” A familiar voice commanded.
Xyla walked in, red-faced and angry. She looked at me apologetically and frowned at Thalia. “What do you think you're doing?”
Thalia snickered, though she was a powerful figure in school, Xyla also had a pretty strong reputation and backing, they never agreed on a thing as Xyla is my best friend and always stood up for me when Thalia strikes.
“The pauper's best-friend is here. It's nice to see that she hasn't rubbed off her ill-luck on you, you should hang out with people on your level, people like me.” Thalia said, shamelessly.
Xyla hissed loudly. “You're way beneath me Thalia and you know that.”
Thalia got angry and opened the diary, reading through the pages. “Dear diary, I am so ashamed of myself today, I could barely afford a pair of new shoes and had no choice than to wear the ones Xyla lovingly gave to me..”
Embarrassed, tears rolled down my face, she was reading out my thoughts. Xyla was pissed and she tried to retrieve the diary but the minions did a good job of blocking her as well.
“I can't help but feel suicidal knowing that I am adopted and never knew who my real parents are…” Thalia continued, laughing as she read it out loudly.
“Give it back!” I cried in horror but no one listened.
“Didn't you hear her? Give the damn book back!” Xyala thundered and lunged against her, she grabbed Thalia's hair but Thalia was able to wriggle free and got a hold of me instead.
“Hands off or you'll regret it!” A male voice thundered.
It was as if the entire world paused because we all froze and turned out heads to look at the direction of the voice. A boy tall and handsome well with his hands tucked into his pocket, a frowned plastered on his face and murderous intent walked in.
He looked at me and I could swear that he smiled briefly then turned to face Thalia. “Didn't you hear what I said? Get your filthy hands off!” He snapped.
Thalia immediately let go and I could see that she was scared, she began to chuckle nervously.
“I wasn't doing anythi-.” She stammered but he shut her up with a deadly glare.
“Are you alright?” He asked me and I almost dropped dead. Me? I could feel Thalia's death glare bore into my skin.
“M-me-me?” I stuttered.
He clicked his tongue, snatched the diary from Thalia and handed it over to me, however, he drew me closer and hugged me intimately. “Nice to see you again Callie, God! You smell heavenly.” He whispered into my ears.
Thalia almost buried herself underground and he casually walked over to Xyla and pinched her nose while she stuck out her tongue at him.
“What took you so long? You know how to make an entry don't you?” Xyla threw at him, playfully.
He opened his mouth to speak but a teacher walked in and we all scurried to our seats. He walked up to the teacher who had a huge smile plastered on her face.
“Good morning and welcome back to school students, you have a new classmate and he'll introduce himself to you.” Mrs Salvatore uttered.
“I'm Xandros Xavier.” He introduced, briefly.
There were murmurs and gasps. The name sounded familiar to me and I could swear I've seen him before. I was lost in my thought and looked up to see him pointing at me then walking over.
Alerted, I almost froze as he sat on the seat beside me. I looked at him and he gave me a ghost of a smile which is when it finally dawned on me who he was. “Xandros!” I gasped. He is Xyla's twin brother
Author's POV It was around ten in the night during the time of this situation when Andean called Xandros to give him some good news.“What's up Andean, Where are you though? You left the truck as soon as got here” Xandros asked“Yeah! I had to, I went into the room to see for myself" Xandros moved away from the policeman and Xyla to listen to what Andean had to say carefully “Yeah? What did you notice" “I can't see anything much but the food and the drinks are spilled everywhere, there's also puke everywhere" “So there's nothing that could prove that Xyla didn't do this because they are trying to take her away" “Nothing really!" Andean said while Xandros sighed and felt confused about what to do.“What the fuck!" Andean yelled“What is it? What did you see?" Xandros asked him to know why he exclaimed over the phone “There's a camera at the balcony, right above where Tyler fell from" Andean said"Thanks goodness, that's good news, you're a genuine Andie” Xandros said with some v
Author's POV “I'm deeply sorry ma'am, this must be hard for you" The guards said"Call Xandros on my phone, tell him to come pick me” Xyla said to the guards soberly "Yes ma'am “ He said as he picked the phone and asked“What’s the password ma'am?” "Eight five twelve stranger street lipstick” The guard looked confused as he confusedly typed the ambiguous password to unlock her phone so he could dial Xandros line."Hello sir!? This is Mr.Nebula, a guard at the hotel your sister is lodging at and your sister wants you to come get her at the GP hotel, there's been an incident here”"What happened?“ Xandros expressed fake shock at the news he just heard“It's better you see it for yourself, I advice you hurry sir" The guard said, Xandros replied “Ohh okay! I'll be right there" Xandros said as he hung up the phone.Xandros went to the guard quarters to alert Andean about this news, but Andean was not around “What a time to not be around! Where could he have gone by this time?" Xandros
Author's POV Xandros got to the hotel room after he made it through the elevator safely, thanks to Andean who was monitoring the hallways and the general rooms where potential guards could be at.He knocked at the door, Tyler answered Xandros “Who's there?" Then Xandros replied “It's room service, I got your food and stuffs you need according to your payment plans" “Tyler was already in bed kissing and caressing Xyla when he told herLet me go get this babe, don't move cause I'll be right back, okay?" She blushed and said"Yes your majesty”Tyler approached the door to get the trolley while wearing a white bathroom robe with his hairy chest out for display to receive Xandros and the food “That's all for now sir" Xandros said as he pushed it over to him, then for some reason Tyler stood there and stared at Xandros like someone he knew and said “That voice! I think I know you from somewhere" “No you don't!" Xandros revolted in fear and began to back away from him.“Can I see you
Xandros's POV I saw the shaman make some incantations on the poison which was unbottled but it was in a metallic pan, he took his time to fortify it as he stretched forth his hands to me while his other hand held a knife."Let me see your palms” The shaman requested so I did give him, only for him to cut me across so deeply that blood began to fountain out."Ouch! What was that for?” I asked, then he replied "This is the moon gods request that I identify the killer of Tyler by blood, now you just need to let him injest this poison potion, it feels harmless and sweet at first taste, but after some minutes then the victim begins to feel the impact" “What type of reactions or impact will the victim face if he or she takes it?" I asked the shaman, then he replied "He will lose his mind, his thoughts begin to confuse and consume his decisions until he does something stupid enough to end his life, mostly like suicide or something stupid" “Give me your other hand" Xandros gave him, then
