“The water comes from the mountains at the pack borders. Its mostly snow and glacial, so that’s why it has that color.” Olina says as I step away from her and really take in the area.
“Its breathtaking.”
“I know. It’s my favorite spot. I actually lied, this isn’t a popular swimming area. It’s mostly my swim area, Quai and I used to come here but always had to leave at dark because my mom didn’t like the idea of swimming in the dark. So he installed these lights forever ago so we could stay later sometimes.”
I turned around and saw a small smile on her face and her gaze was fixed on the water as the memory played out in her mind.
“Who is Quai?” I asked. The name played over in my mind, bringing out feelings of calm and happy, yet I couldn’t place why I recognized it.
She heaved a deep breath and walked over to a flat rock near the waterfall.

It’s been a week since Lana arrived now and I wish I could say her first week was full of nothing but settling in and getting to know her new pack and our family getting to know her more, but that would be a lie.Since the day the boys shared with us the issues between the Water Rock and Brook Hole packs, things have only gotten more tense. As expected, Water Rock did nothing to initiate a fight. Once we reached out to them, we got their side of the story and it wasn’t a surprise. They had been the ones to reach out to my dad about the issues because they were finding Brook Hole warriors trying to infiltrate their borders. The last attempt had included an attack on a Water Rock patrol and that was when they reached out to us. The current laws says packs should attempt to solve disputes between them, and then if not possible, before turning to violence they must reach out to the King to attempt to settle the dispute with mediation.

I’m not sure who I was expecting to walk through that door, who I imagined the clutch person was that the King went to in situations like this would be.
