Fair Compensation

        Before the sun rises, Alexander who didn't fall asleep was already busy cooking breakfast in Jingfei’s kitchen. The soup and hangover medicine that he requested last night had been delivered early in the morning. He was almost done preparing breakfast when he heard a loud bang inside the young lady’s room.

          Hurriedly placing the bowl of soup on the table, Alexander ran toward the room and almost burst into laughter when he saw the young lady on the floor, her back was flat on the floor, her head was facing the door and her legs were still on the bed. 

            “Are you just gonna watch me? Owww!!” Jingfei held her throbbing head, “Fucking hangover!” She mumbled, Alexander walked towards the young lady and helped her stand up on her feet, “Why did you fall from the bed!” The young man asked.

            “Guess I was still asleep!” Jingfei answered, still holding her throbbing head.

            Alexander handed a bottle of hangover which he got from the table beside Jingfei’s bed, “Here, drink this. You drank half of the whisky last night! You must be in so much pain.” 

           “What whisky?” With a confused look on her face, Jingfei asked while reaching for the bottle from Alexander’s grip. “You don’t remember? You took the bottle of whisky from Shell’s grasp last night.” Alexander uttered referring to the bartender. 

           Jingfei’s eyes widened when she remembered half of last night’s event. With a worried expression she glanced at the young man, “Did I? Uhmm last night, did I blabber too much when I got very drunk?” 

           Alexander shook his head, “Nope you didn’t. You passed out immediately.” The young man uttered as he took the bottle from Jingfei. He placed it back on the table, “I didn’t know you have a high tolerance when it comes to alcoholic beverages.” He suddenly blurted to keep the young lady from asking more questions about what she did last night. 

           “Well, it’s enough for me to finish half the bottle of whisky and pass out after without even remembering what had happened when I woke up the next day.” The young lady mumbled while rubbing her forehead.

           “Did you change my clothes?” Jingfei asked when she realized that she was not wearing her dress anymore.

           Alexander walked towards the bed and tidied the pillows first, “No, I asked someone to change your clothes, you puked at your doorstep last night.” 

           “Was I that wasted last night?” Jingfei questioned. She never had any experience of vomiting and getting wasted whenever she goes out to attend some party. 

           Alexander wasn’t able to answer the young lady immediately as the memories of last night when her luscious lips touched his, suddenly popped into the young man’s head. He also remembered her getting up to vomit again and even witnessed her snoring loudly and sleeptalking, calling the name of a man whom Alexander is familiar with. 

           “Do you want to eat breakfast or have a cold shower first?” Alexander asked, changing the topic. 

          Jingfei stood up and almost fell on her feet but with his quick reflexes, Alexander caught the young lady for support. “Thank you! I can manage!” Jingfei uttered as she let go of Alexander’s hand and walked towards the bathroom even though she sometimes lost her balance. 

          "Is she still drunk?” Alexander thought while watching Jingfei until she got inside of the bathroom. As soon as Jingfei closed the door, Alexander finished tidying the bed and he got out from Jingfei’s room to reheat the soup.

          Inside the bathroom, Jingfei could hear the door closing, she heaved a sigh of relief. "What did I do last night?" She mumbled while watching her reflection in the mirror. And an image of a man dressed in a white tuxedo popped in her mind, "Was that really him?" The young lady pondered as she clearly remembered the soon-to-be groom's face.

         Jingfei could not clearly remember what had happened at the event, all she did remember was that her attention was glued to the man in the centre stage. And the last thing she remembered was going out of the villa and asking Alexander to drive to the bar.

       "Oh well, I should not think about what happened last night since I think our paths will never cross again! God! This hangover is killing me." Jingfei mumbled as she rubbed her nape. She then stripped her clothes off and walked inside of the shower room. 

       A couple of minutes had passed since Jingfei had gone to the bathroom, Alexander was done preparing their breakfast when his phone suddenly rang. Hurriedly, he took his phone from his pocket and answered the call. 

       "Bonjour Monsieur Héroux, I have already called all the women whom you have contact with. I have cut all ties with them." Alexander's secretary informed him. 

      "Did you give them enough and fair compensation?" He asked while glancing in the direction where Jingfei's room is located.

      "Yes, I did! I have followed what you have told me earlier this morning, Monsieur Héroux!" His secretary politely informed him. 

       Alexander raised his head when he heard the door closed, "Good! I will not report to the company today. Please handle everything for me. And if there are any important documents for me to sign, please bring them to my apartment." As soon as Alexander's secretary said okay, the young man immediately ended the call. 

      Jingfei sat down on the stool opposite to the young man's, "Here! I have asked the chef to prepare a hangover soup for you. Be careful, it's quite hot! I reheated that since it was delivered early in the morning!" Alexander placed the soup in front of Jingfei. 

        "Thank you! Can I also have that?" Jingfei questioned when she saw her favourite fried shrimp in front of her. 

        The young man smiled at her, "Of course not! The hangover soup will be enough for you. This is all mine!" Alexander uttered while pointing at the five different dishes he cooked using Jingfei's ingredients. 

      "You better pay for the ingredients you used!" She mumbled and started blowing the hot soup. When she was about to shove the spoon of soup on her mouth, Alexander placed a piece of shrimp on top. "Just one!" He mumbled and went back to eating his own breakfast. Jingfei secretly smiled and then focused on eating her hangover soup with lots of vegetables on it. 

        The atmosphere was peaceful and quiet as the two ate without any noise, but suddenly, Jingfei opened her mouth and questioned the young man. "Did the crew got home last night?" She was curious if they got home safely because she had totally forgotten about them because of what she saw last night. 

         "They did got home safely!" Alexander briefly replied. "We better hurry since we are already late for work!" The young man uttered and Jingfei just made a salute as she finished her soup quickly. It was partially her fault why they are going to work late. As soon as Jingfei was done, Alexander washed the dishes while she went back to her room to get her backpack that she usually bring to work. She also made sure that she doesn't smell, she almost sprayed all her favourite perfume. 

          When Jingfei got out of her room, Alexander was already done doing the dishes, "Let's go?" He uttered and Jingfei nodded her head, "We are already late for work. I'm sorry!" She uttered and Alexander just shuffled her hair while smiling, ''No need to worry. I already informed them the reason why we will be coming late."

           The two then went out of the young lady's apartment unit, they were greeted by the staff whom they meet in the hallway. Jingfei was the one who pressed the UG button. 

            Alexander took Jingfei's bag as soon as they arrive at the parking lot, "We will be quite busy today. We got two events today." Alexander informed the young lady when they got inside of his car. 

            Jingfei just nodded her head and immediately, they eft the parking lot as soon as Alexander revived the car's engine.
