Chapter 3

Penulis: Snail
After leaving the master bedroom, I casually picked a guest room to stay in.

I didn’t bother unpacking the clothes I had neatly folded. I just left them inside the suitcase because I would be leaving with them soon anyway.

I took my ID and went to City Hall to file my withdrawal from the Fangtooth Pack. The clerk told me my application would be approved in three days. By then, I would be officially free from Fangtooth and could leave this place for good.

Three days later… Wasn’t that exactly the day Harry and Chloe were holding their bonding ceremony? Up until today, I had always thought that the ceremony was meant for me.

My chest tightened, and even breathing felt painful. Because of my injured back, I stopped by the hospital. While I was there, I also asked for a full checkup on the pups in my belly.

My back was covered in dark bruises, but thankfully, the babies were unharmed.

The doctor looked at the report and nodded with satisfaction.

“Both babies are very healthy. Do come back for another checkup next week. You’ll be able to see their ultrasound images then.”

I gently caressed my stomach, my expression softening.

At least I still had them. Even if I left the place I had called home for so many years, I wouldn’t be alone.

When I returned to the estate, the living room couch was already piled high with shopping bags like a mountain. Chloe was pulling Harry along, her face glowing with excitement as she dug through them.

When she saw me walk in, she lifted a leather handbag with a smug smile.

“Lianne, Harry insisted on buying me all these things. Do you see anything you like? I’ll give you some.”

Looking uneasy, Harry said to me, “Chloe has an event coming up in a few days, so she needs a lot of things. I’ll be accompanying her then. After all, she’s pregnant. She needs someone to take care of her.”

His wolf let out a mocking laugh. “That’s right. The ceremony is going to be exhausting. She’ll even have to walk through the whole thing in a wedding gown. Oh, by the way, isn’t that gown the one you had made for Lianne? Five tailors, six whole months, and nine hundred ninety-nine moonlight crystals sewn into it. It’s absolutely stunning!”

My mind went hazy, and I suddenly remembered what I had once said to Harry.

“Harry, the stars at night are so beautiful! It’s a shame we can’t see them in the day. I wish I could keep them all. For our ceremony, wouldn’t it be amazing if we could stitch every star into my gown?”

My heart ached, and tears spilled down my cheeks uncontrollably.

‘Harry… so you do remember those words I blurted out. But why would you give something that belonged only to me to someone else?’

Three days later, at dawn, five sleek black cars lined up neatly in front of the hotel. Harry held Chloe’s hand carefully as he helped her into one of them.

From the corner of the street, I stood quietly, watching her gown glitter in the sunlight. The fabric swayed slightly with each step, catching the light like flowing starlight. It was breathtaking.

As the motorcade pulled away, I grabbed my suitcase and left alone.

Inside the car, Harry’s wolf was still growling in his ear.

“You’re hopeless, Harry. Hiding this from Lianne? Aren’t you afraid she’ll find out? I can’t imagine how furious she’d be if she knew.”

Harry kept his gaze fixed outside the window, answering half-heartedly, “She won’t find out. I’ll keep it from her forever. Once I’ve handled things with Chloe, I’ll give Lianne an even grander, more spectacular ceremony.”

Just thinking about me made his features soften, and the corners of his lips curved in a faint smile.

“Besides, she loves me too much. Even if she gets angry, as long as I make it up to her, she’ll forgive me.”

However, before that smile could fade, his phone began ringing frantically.

“Alpha Harry, there’s a riot of rogue wolves at the airport. They’ve taken control of the whole place!”

Harry’s brow furrowed sharply. “Send the patrol squads to suppress them. I’ll head over as soon as I’m done here.”

“But…” His second-in-command hesitated on the line. “There’s worse news. Someone has reported seeing Lianne at the airport. And… in a live stream just moments ago, she was spotted lying in a pool of blood. I’ll send you the photos right now…”

His eyes were bloodshot, like a man on the edge of madness.“I’ve searched for you for four years. Four years! I took revenge on everyone who ever hurt you. I thought about you every single day, and yet you’ve forgotten me?”Frightened, I hid behind Wesley.Suddenly, two children rushed out from backstage. They clung to my legs, glaring at Harry with fiery eyes.“You bad man! Don’t you dare hurt our mom!”Harry froze. His gaze locked onto the children who looked so much like him.“These… Are these my kids? Lianne, when you left, you were pregnant with my children?”His fingers trembled as he reached out, wanting to touch their faces, but at the last second, he pulled back. In a hoarse voice, he whispered, “Kids… I’m your real father.”Wesley immediately shielded me and the kids behind him, his expression colder than ice.“You think you deserve to be Lianne’s mate? To be their father? Do you know? If I hadn’t arrived in time five years ago, all three of them would have been d

Wesley was drawn to my resilient nature. He developed a strong affection for me and kept urging me to go South with him.“At Whitebush Pack, it’s like spring all year round,” he said eagerly. “Flowers bloom everywhere, and I promise you’ll fall in love with it! Come with me. Besides, wasn’t your original plan to travel South anyway?”I didn’t know why, before losing my memory, I had planned to head South. However, since that was my original journey, following Wesley didn’t seem impossible. So, I went to the Whitebush Pack, and just as Wesley had described, it was beautiful beyond words.A year later, I gave birth to a pair of twins—a boy and a girl. Wesley was even happier than I was. He came to see them every single day. When the children turned three, Wesley finally won me over, and I decided to accept his proposal.News spread quickly that the Alpha of Whitebush Pack was holding a bonding ceremony.Wesley was a capable man. The day of the airport riot, I was indeed standing at the entrance, just about to board my flight, when a pack of rogue wolves burst inside and attacked everyone without distinction. Screams and frantic footsteps filled my ears. I dropped down fast, hiding under the check-in counter, too afraid to breathe.Just five meters away, a girl about my age was mauled by several wolves and collapsed in a pool of blood right before my eyes. When the wolves finally left, she crawled a few steps in my direction. Sobbing, I rushed to her side and took her hand. Her eyes were already unfocused, her lips trembling as she whispered, “I’m cold…”I slipped off my jacket and gently draped it over her body. I stayed there, holding her, until the light faded from her eyes. Only then did I run desperately toward the exit.Alas, my luck didn’t hold. Before I could reach the doors, three wolves spotted me. They surrounded me from different angles, their eyes gleaming with hunger and malice.I ran wit

Harry couldn’t believe I had left. His mind was in a daze, and deep down, he refused to accept it.Why would I just leave for no reason? Unless…His heart skipped a beat as he suddenly remembered the butler’s strange behavior.Harry quickly called his second-in-command. “Check the butler’s recent movements. Report back to me immediately.”When he saw the report, anger and disappointment clouded his face. He turned to the butler and demanded, “You’ve been with me for over ten years. Why would you let yourself be bought off so easily by Chloe?”It turned out Chloe had bribed the butler long ago, ordering him to keep watch over me.The moment I left the estate today, Chloe was informed right away. She was secretly delighted and even instructed the butler not to let Harry know until after the bonding ceremony was complete. However, no matter how careful her plan was, she hadn’t counted on me being attacked at the airport or that Harry would find out anyway, exposing the butler in

Chloe’s eyes lit up with hope as she looked at Harry.“Harry, our packs are deeply connected. Can you really bear to destroy such a strong bond? My dad only has one daughter—me, and he’s always loved me. If you walk away in the middle of the bonding ceremony, he’ll be furious! Is offending him over something so small really worth it?”Harry paused for just a moment. Then, he kept walking, his steps steady, not a trace of hesitation.“I’m sorry. My mate’s life is no small matter. Once I find her, I’ll come back and apologize to your father myself.”His pace quickened until he was running full speed toward the airport. There was only one thought in his mind—he had to find me.By then, the battle at the airport had reached its peak. The patrol units were driving the rogue wolf pack out with overwhelming force.Harry’s second-in-command spotted him rushing over and tried to give a report, but Harry cut him off in agitation.“Where is she? Where’s Lianne?”The second-in-command froz

“What did you just say?”Harry suddenly sat bolt upright, his face darker than ever before.Inside his head, the wolf within him was howling restlessly. “What? What did you say? Lianne’s dead? That can’t be right. Why would she be at the airport? She’s supposed to be at home.”Slowly, his lost sense of reason returned. He tried to comfort himself. “That’s right. Lianne has been at home. There’s no way she’d show up at the airport.”With trembling hands, he dialed the number of the butler at his estate.“Is my wife at home? Put her on the phone now!” He didn’t even notice how much his voice was shaking. After a long silence, the butler finally replied on the other end of the line.“Madam is in her room. She’s already asleep.”Harry let out a breath of relief, his expression easing as he muttered, “I knew it. There’s no way she’d leave. She would never go to the airport.”Chloe had been watching Harry closely. When she saw the tension leave his face, her lips curved into a faint
