That night I didn’t sleep much. I could hear Amethyst's slow and steady heartbeat in the room to my left, and Ambrosias erratic heartbeat in the room to my right.

Amethyst never had nightmares, she slept easily and without issue. Ambrosia, on the other hand, still seemed to suffer. I offered for her to sleep in my room with me, but she insisted that she sleep in her own room.

I was lying in my bed thinking about everything Amethyst had said about The Others and the Ringmaster, Claude, that it wasn’t like I was asleep anyways.

I knew Ambrosia didn’t get much sleep after she woke up from a nightmare, because I had watched her night after night with the same style of routine. None of it involved going back to sleep right away.
