Chapter Five: “Frisky.”
Lyra and the warriors journeyed to the pack's border, as they moved forward in this lengthy and disgraceful journey, the warriors were merciless, pushing Lyra forward with no gentleness. Lyra's foot scrubbed the rough grounds of the forest, her clothes torn and disheveled, dirt littered all over her body. “Move fast!” The guards ordered, growling. Lyra's body ached with each step she took, making the pain within her worsen. They treated her like she was nothing, a slave meant to be punished and used, never regarding their well-being. At the time they got to the pack's border, the clouds covered the sky, making it darken. Droplet of rain began to fall one by one, soaking Lyra's clothes. One of the guards stepped forward, his lips curling into a cruel smirk, then he said: “Your days on earth are number, you would never be able to survive out there.” Lyra shut her eyes, refusing to let her tears flow. She raised her chin, looking at them with fierce eyes. “If so, then so be it.” She declared. The guards laughed sarcastically: “Yeah, of course those rogues out there will make sure of that.” The released her arms, unsympathetic, letting her hit the floor with a thud. These were the people who protect the strong and persecute the weak. This was their usual routine. On the other hand, it meant a lot to Lyra. “In the name of Alpha Karl, you are thereby exiled from the Silver Moon pack, if you're caught anywhere near our borders, you will be killed on the spot.” The warrior declared. A slow but refreshing pain hit Lyra, creeping all over her body. Without remorse, they turned walking away, never looking back, leaving Lyra alone in the wilderness. The rain stared falling heavily, drenching Lyra beyond wet. Her breathing became hollow as she turned to face her new world. Today, made Lyra realize she was all by herself in this world, no one like not cared about her, she was truly alone. She stood up moving forward, each step heavier than the last, she had nowhere to go, nowhere to lay her head, no one to confide in. The rain fell without pity, increasing by the second, lightning flickered across the sky, thunder roared powerfully in the sky. “So I'm really going to die.” Lyra asked herself, “No, I can't, I have to survive.” She whispered, encouraging herself. The further she moved away from the pack, the more she felt cast away and frustrated. She had been betrayed by the place she once called home. Lyra pondered: “Was I ever significant, or just a timid Omega intended to be a slave? So they only wanted me to be their slave who served tea and scrubbed the floors.” The rain kept falling, all her surroundings were pitch dark; it was nightfall, the clouds were dark and thunderstruck, Lyra plunged into the dense forest, never looking back. “You need to rest.” Crystal, her wolf said. But she had no choice but to keep moving. Her legs numb from hours of lumbering, her brawn trembling and full of exhaustion. Lyra’s stomach grumbled, reminding the fact that she hadn't eaten. Lyra had no idea where she was going, but she had no choice but to keep moving. The word “Weak” kept resounding in her mind, but she wasn't weak, Lyra was only overlooked and belittled. The leaves were rustling, the wind blowing, sending shivers down her spine and chilling her bones with extreme coldness. Lyra was lonely and hopeless in this never-ending woods. Finally, her body gave up, retreating to a nearby tree. Gasping heavily and trying to catch my breath, I relaxed on the tree's rough bark, letting the rain droplet fall on her face. The sounds of footsteps frightened her; immediately panic surged in. Lyra turned her head to the side and saw them, their eyes shining in the dark. She stiffened, her breath stuck in her throat as three figures appeared from the darkness, their looks twisted with predatory mirth. Rogues Their filthy scent hit her, her heart fell to her stomach. “Well, well, well, look who we have here!” one of the rogues said, his voice belated and threatening. “A little Omega lost in the woods.” Lyra moved backwards, her heart beating fast and hard, she was too weak and drained to run. “Please,” Lyra begged, her voice is not obvious. “Don't hurt me.” For some reason, the rain suddenly stopped. Another rogue laughed loudly, "Oh darling, don't worry; we're just here to help you.” The third rogue lunged at Lyra, gripping her hand and pinning her to the muddy ground. She screamed, struggling, but she was no match for his physique. He jerked Lyra out of the tree; she with a loud thud They circulated her like predators capturing their prey. “Frisky.” One of the rogues laughed, grabbing Lyra, tears spilling down her face as she flailed, punted, and screeched, but it only seemed to please them; then, another one ripped the fabric of her shirt. The sound of ripping fabric ringing in her ears like a death's bell. Lyra's wolf Crystal howled in agony; she couldn't move or shift, she was stuck. Tears clouded her vision. “Oh, we're so going to enjoy this.” “Please, leave me alone!” Lyra screamed in anguish, but they didn't listen; one of them pressed his weight on her, tearing the remains of her clothes. Just when she felt all hope was lost, she heard a thunderous growl, ferocious and powerful, reverberating through emerged from the trees, running extremely swiftly; it was almost a blur. Lyra blinked her eyes just in time to see a husky wolf, with dark fur, his eyes fierce but bright blue eyes. Before she was able to apprehend what was happening, the rogue was ripped off her, his howl short as he was thrown to the ground with a sickening thud. The other rogues barely had time to react; the figure moved again quickly, his fists, and claws tearing them apart like paper, one of the rogues dropping lifeless on the ground The last one tried to escape, but the muscular figure caught him and snapped his head. Lyra lay on the ground trembling; her body shook uncontrollably. She clasped the remains of her torn shirt to her chest; Lyra could hardly breathe, her still trying to process what just happened. The husky wolf changed back to his human form, he was tall and handsome with a striking features. The muscular figure expression was unclear as he scrutinized Lyra. He knelt beside her, covering her with his coat. “Are you okay?” he asked, been injured badly. Hearing this, she remembers the bruises on her body, making her to frown as she felt a pang of pain. He helped her stand to her feet. “I'm Gamma Xander of the Silver Fang pack.” he said, sounding dominant and commanding. “Don't worry; you will be alright,” he said, reassuring Lyra. Seeing she was unable to move, he carried her, “Don't worry, you will be safe.” Lyra nodded weakly; she clung to him tightly as he walked through the woods. For the first time, she felt safe and protected. But she never knew it was just the beginning. Lyra closed her eyes as darkness engulfed.“Oh my daughter Natasha, I can't wait for you to be the Luna of the pack.” An elderly woman said, grinning as she stared at her daughter with admiration.“Yes, mom, I told you I had Kael wrapped around my fingers. Invitations have been sent out; the Alpha King will be attending my wedding. It's a dream come through, mom.” Natasha's eyes sparkled as her lips curled in a wide grin. She sat on her chair comfortably, her legs crossed. Pride glimmering in her eyes.“Elder Owen, whose wedding is everyone talking about, I heard you got an invitation.” Lyra said, facing him, her eyes glowing“Oh, it's from Kael, Alpha of the Silver Moon pack; his getting married to his chosen mate,” Lyra interrupted.“Wait, you mean Silver Moon pack?” Lyra demanded, her smile frozen as her mouth fell open.“Yes, do you know him?” Elder Owen.“Um yes, I mean no, no. I don't know him; I've never heard of him before; that's why I'm shocked.” Lyra explained, trying to comport herself, she couldn't believe her ears
Chapter Twenty THE VILLAGERSThe news of Lyra's healing powers began to spread like wildfire throughout the village. Elder Owen smiled in his heart seeing what Lyra had accomplished, and Patrick was amazed, knowing she was now of great importance to the village. As they celebrated, chatted and enjoyed themselves, something terrible was happening. A loud wail resounded, vibrating through the whole village, screams echoing here and there. Everyone became alerted, seeing the mighty beast before them, they were in group, beasts in group were the hardest to defeat.Worried about Lyra's safety, Elder Owen ordered: “Patrick, take Lyra to a safe place now.” He yelled as he eyes scanned through the chaos before him.Patrick ran towards Lyra grabbing and racing to the forest, but Lyra stopped, she felt a current in her refusing to go. “No, we have to help the villagers, they'll need more manpower.” Lyra pleaded, her heart in frantic beats. She knew the that danger lurked, and it was surging up
Chapter Nineteen Orion changed his expression quickly, he showed his white teeth grinning. Kael looked deep into his eyes, he saw a shimmer of guilt shining, then the wolf's facial expression stiffened as he scoffed.“Alpha Kael I'm really not guilty of this allegation, shouldn't you be making sure the pack is safe rather than accusing its members of burglary.” Kael scrutinized Orion one last time, his instincts told him Orion was lying, but he decided to let it go for now. Nevertheless, his eyes will still be the wolf's.Natasha and Kael departed from Orion's cabin, as they were leaving, Martha approached them. A calm and quiet member of the pack, but still vibrate and submissive, a friend of Diana.“Greetings Alpha, I have some information you would like to hear, it's concerning the attack.” Martha said, speaking in a quiet voice.Kael's ear piqued with curiosity. “What information? Speak.” He ordered.Martha stood there, a little reluctant, but she spoke. “That night when the att
Hearing the commotion, Natasha comes out and squeezes Kael's hand tightly. “I need to investigate who this, take me to the storage room immediately.” Kael said veins popping in his forehead. Getting to the storage room, Kael entered, glancing at every inch of the room. The door, was ruined and almost torn to shred. On the floor were dirts and garbage littered everywhere. Natasha was by his side as they continued scrutinizing the scene lightly. Both of them tried to search for clues, Kael tried using his senses, but it seemed like the culprit had masked his scent. “Who found out about the attack?” Kael inquired, sounding steady and unshaken by the situation, of course, he can't seem weak in matters like this or the enemy can strike at any time. A member of the pack stepped forward. “It is I Alpha. I was patrolling in this path, checking on our stocks for today. Unfortunately, the stocks had been stolen, and the room had been left in disarray.” He explained, he head bowed. “Oka
THE SILVER MOON PACKALPHA'S QUARTERS“There's something important I want to tell you.” Natasha said as she sat before Kael looking at him with a straight face, one could tell that the matter is serious.Kael's eyes flashed with eagerness as he said. “Please say it, I'm all ears.” She inhaled deeply, uncertain, but she let it out. “Kael, it has to do with Diana. Her behavior recently is really alarming, Kael I doubt if Diana is still faithful to this pack and you.” A frown appeared on Kael's face, as he asked. “How are so certain that she is being unfaithful to the pack.”With a hush tone, she replied, her voice barely above a whisper. “I've noticed the way she communicates with the rest of the pack, her behavior with the pack is suspicious, she isn't trustworthy. The memory of her hatred towards Lyra is still fresh, she might be double-dealing.” Kael's eyes softened, filled with an inner glow. He was happy that Natasha looked out for the pack, even with the fact that she wasn't L
“My dear, patience is a virtue, you must be patient, slowly you will discover your talents.” Elder Owen encouraged with a gentle tone.“I truly hope so.” Lyra replied, her head droopy. “Oh, don't worry, my dear, your time will come eventually.” Elder Owen said, grinning at Lyra with a look of sincerity.“Thanks Elder Owen, I will forever be grateful to you for all you've done for me, without you, I don't know how I would have survived.” Lyra uttered, expressing her appreciation.“No Lyra, I'm with today because of fate, instead you should be grateful to the moon goddess.” Elder Owen explained.“Yes, of course, I will also thank the moon goddess for her kind gesture.” Lyra promised with a sly bow and a nod.“Elder Owen, you are really a kind person, I hope to spend more time with you in the future.” Lyra said, embracing Else Owen in an affectionate hug and a genuine smile that lighten up her face. With confidence and determination, Lyra began to practice meditation, just like Elder Ow
