Chapter Five: “Frisky.”
Lyra and the warriors journeyed to the pack's border, as they moved forward in this lengthy and disgraceful journey, the warriors were merciless, pushing Lyra forward with no gentleness. Lyra's foot scrubbed the rough grounds of the forest, her clothes torn and disheveled, dirt littered all over her body. “Move fast!” The guards ordered, growling. Lyra's body ached with each step she took, making the pain within her worsen. They treated her like she was nothing, a slave meant to be punished and used, never regarding their well-being. At the time they got to the pack's border, the clouds covered the sky, making it darken. Droplet of rain began to fall one by one, soaking Lyra's clothes. One of the guards stepped forward, his lips curling into a cruel smirk, then he said: “Your days on earth are number, you would never be able to survive out there.” Lyra shut her eyes, refusing to let her tears flow. She raised her chin, looking at them with fierce eyes. “If so, then so be it.” She declared. The guards laughed sarcastically: “Yeah, of course those rogues out there will make sure of that.” The released her arms, unsympathetic, letting her hit the floor with a thud. These were the people who protect the strong and persecute the weak. This was their usual routine. On the other hand, it meant a lot to Lyra. “In the name of Alpha Karl, you are thereby exiled from the Silver Moon pack, if you're caught anywhere near our borders, you will be killed on the spot.” The warrior declared. A slow but refreshing pain hit Lyra, creeping all over her body. Without remorse, they turned walking away, never looking back, leaving Lyra alone in the wilderness. The rain stared falling heavily, drenching Lyra beyond wet. Her breathing became hollow as she turned to face her new world. Today, made Lyra realize she was all by herself in this world, no one like not cared about her, she was truly alone. She stood up moving forward, each step heavier than the last, she had nowhere to go, nowhere to lay her head, no one to confide in. The rain fell without pity, increasing by the second, lightning flickered across the sky, thunder roared powerfully in the sky. “So I'm really going to die.” Lyra asked herself, “No, I can't, I have to survive.” She whispered, encouraging herself. The further she moved away from the pack, the more she felt cast away and frustrated. She had been betrayed by the place she once called home. Lyra pondered: “Was I ever significant, or just a timid Omega intended to be a slave? So they only wanted me to be their slave who served tea and scrubbed the floors.” The rain kept falling, all her surroundings were pitch dark; it was nightfall, the clouds were dark and thunderstruck, Lyra plunged into the dense forest, never looking back. “You need to rest.” Crystal, her wolf said. But she had no choice but to keep moving. Her legs numb from hours of lumbering, her brawn trembling and full of exhaustion. Lyra’s stomach grumbled, reminding the fact that she hadn't eaten. Lyra had no idea where she was going, but she had no choice but to keep moving. The word “Weak” kept resounding in her mind, but she wasn't weak, Lyra was only overlooked and belittled. The leaves were rustling, the wind blowing, sending shivers down her spine and chilling her bones with extreme coldness. Lyra was lonely and hopeless in this never-ending woods. Finally, her body gave up, retreating to a nearby tree. Gasping heavily and trying to catch my breath, I relaxed on the tree's rough bark, letting the rain droplet fall on her face. The sounds of footsteps frightened her; immediately panic surged in. Lyra turned her head to the side and saw them, their eyes shining in the dark. She stiffened, her breath stuck in her throat as three figures appeared from the darkness, their looks twisted with predatory mirth. Rogues Their filthy scent hit her, her heart fell to her stomach. “Well, well, well, look who we have here!” one of the rogues said, his voice belated and threatening. “A little Omega lost in the woods.” Lyra moved backwards, her heart beating fast and hard, she was too weak and drained to run. “Please,” Lyra begged, her voice is not obvious. “Don't hurt me.” For some reason, the rain suddenly stopped. Another rogue laughed loudly, "Oh darling, don't worry; we're just here to help you.” The third rogue lunged at Lyra, gripping her hand and pinning her to the muddy ground. She screamed, struggling, but she was no match for his physique. He jerked Lyra out of the tree; she with a loud thud They circulated her like predators capturing their prey. “Frisky.” One of the rogues laughed, grabbing Lyra, tears spilling down her face as she flailed, punted, and screeched, but it only seemed to please them; then, another one ripped the fabric of her shirt. The sound of ripping fabric ringing in her ears like a death's bell. Lyra's wolf Crystal howled in agony; she couldn't move or shift, she was stuck. Tears clouded her vision. “Oh, we're so going to enjoy this.” “Please, leave me alone!” Lyra screamed in anguish, but they didn't listen; one of them pressed his weight on her, tearing the remains of her clothes. Just when she felt all hope was lost, she heard a thunderous growl, ferocious and powerful, reverberating through emerged from the trees, running extremely swiftly; it was almost a blur. Lyra blinked her eyes just in time to see a husky wolf, with dark fur, his eyes fierce but bright blue eyes. Before she was able to apprehend what was happening, the rogue was ripped off her, his howl short as he was thrown to the ground with a sickening thud. The other rogues barely had time to react; the figure moved again quickly, his fists, and claws tearing them apart like paper, one of the rogues dropping lifeless on the ground The last one tried to escape, but the muscular figure caught him and snapped his head. Lyra lay on the ground trembling; her body shook uncontrollably. She clasped the remains of her torn shirt to her chest; Lyra could hardly breathe, her still trying to process what just happened. The husky wolf changed back to his human form, he was tall and handsome with a striking features. The muscular figure expression was unclear as he scrutinized Lyra. He knelt beside her, covering her with his coat. “Are you okay?” he asked, been injured badly. Hearing this, she remembers the bruises on her body, making her to frown as she felt a pang of pain. He helped her stand to her feet. “I'm Gamma Xander of the Silver Fang pack.” he said, sounding dominant and commanding. “Don't worry; you will be alright,” he said, reassuring Lyra. Seeing she was unable to move, he carried her, “Don't worry, you will be safe.” Lyra nodded weakly; she clung to him tightly as he walked through the woods. For the first time, she felt safe and protected. But she never knew it was just the beginning. Lyra closed her eyes as darkness engulfed. It has just been two days after Rylan attacked Lyra. Lyra’s wound healed quicker than the others; she was extraordinary, of course. She possesses healing powers. Since the incident, Lyra had been training; she was angry that she couldn't defeat Rylan. She smacked harder and pushed with frustration. “If I can't protect them, who will? I was saved for a purpose, and I couldn't achieve that.” Lyra cursed at herself.“Take it slow; you will overcome it. You just have to unlock your inner strength.” Crystal, her wolf, advised.“I've tried several times, but nothing, nothing is working.” Lyra screamed in her head, a whirlwind of emotions heaving her chest.“Lyra! Lyra!” Lily, Lyra’s closest friend, called out, bringing Lyra back from her thoughts.“Hey, don't be too hard on yourself.” Lily said, patting Lyra’s back. “You haven't had breakfast, and it's lunchtime already; come and eat something.” Lily said, more like a command, leaving Lyra with no form of refusal. The village was in eeri
Chapter Thirty It's been a week since Rylan stalked the village borders. Though he hadn't struck yet, the villagers were still on high alert. The forest has been a place of fear since Rylan stalked. Lyra, stubborn yet obedient, still went to the forest for a run.“I really want to run in the forest, and besides, there's no sign of the rogue coming back now.” Lyra said with pleading eyes.“Lyra, it's still not safe. What if something happens to you?” Patrick asked with concern.“Don't worry, I'll be back quickly.” Lyra promised a quiet smile. Her smile was a little contagious; Patrick chuckled and said, “Go ahead. I'll cover so that Elder Owen doesn't find out.” “Thanks a lot.” Lyra appreciated it, her gaze full of gratitude. The forest was full of life and vitality; everywhere was calm. After taking a deep breath, she began to run fiercely, her speed increasing.Exhausted Lyra didn't head home; walking through the forest with green lush trees, Lyra felt a presence, a presence simila
The darkness was peaceful and quiet except for the rustling of leaves, movement of small creatures, and the wind that blew steadily. But this silence carried a hint of menace. It was a warning-like feeling that tingled through the surface of many yet was veiled. In this darkness stood Rylan, his wide physique mystic in the dark. His deep blue eyes, like the ocean, glowing in the forest. He was handsome; his profound jaw tightened. But his presence wasn't ordinary anymore; he had changed. This world had grooved him into what they call a rogue, a castaway, a betrayer, and a beast. Under all of these were flaws that no one dared to disclose. Rylan once belonged to a pack; he was the beta of the pack. Working alongside the Alpha, he was completely loyal to the pack, but the pack feared him, even the Alpha. He was quite powerful, his strength surpassing any other wolf. He was held accountable for treachery and accused of other crimes he never committed. The wolves he fought for shed
It was another bright morning in the village Lyra resides in. Lyra the young girl, banished, rejected and unwanted was now reborn, not only that she could heal people, she possessed special ability others didn't possess, her fighting skills were top notch, she could speak with nature. Little by little Lyra was building herself training on the grounds. As her mind swirled past all she had suffered, she added more strength. “Stop! ”Elder Owen ordered, noticing how fierce she looked. Lyra inhaled deeply, calming herself down. She struck again, this time with agility, strength, and focus. Sweat was running down her back, evidence of how much effort she was putting in. “Child, you're getting better, but your reflexes are slow. You need to think faster than your opponent. Study your movement precisely as you act.” Elder Owen lectured, a sly smile on his lips; he is proud of Lyra. Lyra, exhausted and tired, sighed. “I'll retire now and continue tomorrow.” “Of course, go ahead
He stretched out his hands to reach for hers; Diana's body was weak, but she leaned on him. She looked at the man, his calm demeanor and chiseled jaw, and then his unfamiliar scent hit her, although it was soothing.“You're a member of the Silver Moon pack, right?” He inquired.“I'm not a member anymore; I've been exiled.” Diana replied with the little strength she had.“Oh, so that's the case.” The man responded.“You must be thirsty; drink this water.” She suggested offering her a bottle of water.Diana hesitated, but considering her current situation, she had to trust the stranger and drink the water. Immediately her tongue tasted the water; it rejoiced as her once dry throat had water flowing through it. Her thirst was high, so she finished the whole bottle.“Thank you; I'm grateful for your help.” Diana said, expressing her gratitude towards the man.“No need to worry; you’re in safe hands.” The man reassured her, holding onto her as they roamed the forest.“How much longer do w
ONE WEEK LATER Diana has been in a state of unrest, pacing around her room. Her mind has refused to remain calm. What her eyes had seen was tormenting, and she was stuck with what to do. Well, Kael and Natasha were back from their vacation. “Alpha, welcome back.” Liam said with a welcome gesture, shaking Kael's hand. “I'm glad to be back.” Kael replied. “Welcome back, Luna.” Liam greeted Natasha. She smiled and then walked in, heading to the Alpha's quarters. “Everything has been in control since you left, but there's one thing.” Liam said, lowering his voice. “The woman Diana has been doing some dirty business I believe might be of harm to the pack.” “I'm not so sure, but her communication with those outside the pack is alarming.” Liam reported to Kael. “We will look into that soon. I'll be in my quarters.” Kael said and left. Diana stood up from her bed sweating bullets, her heart beating rapidly, her lips pale, and her head aching. She paced in her room. Then decided in
