Vidia's POV

“Turn him into a wolf,” I watched Lennox's expression darken as I said that. I still couldn't imagine what would have made him so attached to these humans. He had despised them for so long for killing his mother. Maybe I just needed to remind him of that.

“No. I won't,” he denied. “Find another solution.”

“What do you mean by no. That's the only solution possible at this point.” I stepped closer again but he took another back, creating the distance that existed between us. “Why are you even hesitating? Have you forgotten what they did to your mother?” I began, trying to ignite his hatred. “Don't be fooled by them, Lennox. They're only acting nice now but what do you think will happen when they find out the truth?” I pressed. “Don't make the same mistake as your mother.” I could see his Jaws tightening.

“Enough,” He spat as his fists clenched so tightly his knuckles turned white but I didn't stop. “I know this will piss you off, but if that’s what it takes to get you thinki

Lennox's POVI flinched not because I was scared to answer but I didn't know what to say. I had been so caught up with everything else that I ignored the real reason I was here.“Why the sudden silence Lennox,” the alpha's voice echoed, low but firm. “ Don't tell me you haven't transformed anyone yet.”“Of course the conversion has begun,” I replied calmly.“So how many people have been transformed?” He asked again.“Surely you don’t think I’m counting every person they’ve transformed. Do you?” I questioned back.“Of course not. I just want to know how many you have transformed.” He kept pressing the question. I frowned, why was he so persistent, was he doubting me.“Why are you so silent Lennox?” Why was he so persistent? “Don't tell me you haven't started yet. Are you even putting an effort into this? I've noticed something has changed in you.” he pressed.“What exactly do you imply by change?” I answered with another question but I didn't let my composure falter because I knew the

Lennox's POV“Maybe,” I said. “He probably must have seen something shocking that night in the forest,” I added carefully.“”Do you think it's bad?” She said over the phone.“I don't know Auriana but I think you shouldn't try to do anything that might trigger it. What he saw might have been too shocking for his mind to handle so I think his mind must have forgotten it to protect him from the shock,” I said, trying not to raise any suspicion.“I shouldn't have told him that truth.” I could hear worry in her tone. “Liam is very fragile.”“Don't worry Auriana, maybe we are wrong and it was just him reacting normally to the truth” I assured her but I knew the real reason behind it. “however, I'll need to see him tomorrow to make sure.”“Alright. I have an idea about that,” she whispered and I could hear a sense of relief in her voice. “Thank you Lennox,” she muttered with gratitude. The word "thank you" stung more than it comforted. I wasn't helping her out of selflessness, and their sin

Auriana's POV“Liam, are you okay?” I asked again but he didn't reply. He held his head like he was trying to remember something. I hurriedly opened the door and took him inside, sitting him on my bed. That was when he seemed to calm down a bit. I gave him a glass of water, taking a seat by his side.“What happened,” I asked, turning to face him.“I don't know,” he said confused. “I felt like there was something I was supposed to know but it wasn't clear. You said you saw what killed Reese,” he asked again and I nodded slowly. “And it was a wolf?” I watched his eyes darting in shock as he said that. I hesitated for a moment before giving another nod.“Why did the school lie about this,” he held his head again, as if trying to remember something but I laid my hand gently on his shoulder.“They probably didn't want to cause any panic,” I tilted my head down, trying to meet his gaze. “Assure me. You're not going start another crazy investigation right,”He contemplated for a moment befo

AurianaI stared, eyes wide at the intensity of anger he held in his eyes.“I went out,” I said calmly. That seemed to have pissed him more. “With who?” he asked again.“Le.. Lennox,” I answered, still surprised at his reaction. Why was he looking at me like I had murdered someone.“Lennox” His jaws clenched so hard I could see his muscles stand out. “Did you know how long I've waited for you,? I even tried to call but you didn't answer. I was so worried, Auriana!”I stared at my phone and he had indeed called, several times even. “I'm sorry Liam. I didn't mean to scare you,” my voice dropped almost as a whisper but that seemed to have flared his anger more.“Sorry,” his nostrils flared with barely contained fury. “Is that all you have to say, I mean you have no explanation. I told you I was coming. You should have at least informed me before leaving. And with the Lennox guy? I told you to stay away from him,” his tone cut like a whip.I stumbled back, trying to process his reaction.

Auriana's POVThe necklace shimmered more and Lennox looked alert, like he had noticed something. But it wasn't the necklace he was looking at. His gaze looked past me like he had spotted something approaching. Worried, I asked.“What's wrong.”“It's a wolf,” he said, swiftly getting out of the water. “Don't leave here till I'm back.”“You're not thinking of confronting it right?” I bit my lips nervously. I had a bad feeling about it.“Don't worry,” he assured. “I've dealt with this plenty of times. I'll be right back.” He jumped off of the water and I watched him venture into the forest in search of the wolf.Once he was no longer there, I clutched my shoulders nervously, praying that nothing would happen to him. The necklace still shined and I heard ruffling noises from the forest. For a moment, I wanted to join him. Maybe I could be of help but I held myself, anxiously waiting for him to come back.Places were quiet for a moment when suddenly, a noise emerged from the forest. I hal
