Auriana's POV

I woke up with the space beside me empty. Lennox wasn't there. I frowned. How could he leave without informing me? I looked at the clock on the wall and my eyes grew wide. Did I sleep that long? It was already 9 am. No wonder he was already gone. Still, he should have told me.

I didn't even realise when sleep took me last night. Thinking about last night made my tummy flutter. After all, we did get a little intimate.

Snap out of it Auriana.

I left the bed, going to the bathroom when I noticed a small note on my study table. It was from Lennox and what was written there made my tummy flutter more. He told me he had something to take care of and would take me on a date to cheer me up.

I smiled, how considerate of him. Without wasting more time, I rushed to the bathroom and freshened up before slipping into a flowery gown. I was all over the moon when I heard my parents' voice downstairs and my mood completely changed.

Everything about last night came weighing down on me. I

Auriana's POVI scanned the nearby counters — glass vials, surgical instruments, bandages, disinfectant — but found nothing that seemed safe. The machines around her emitted soft beeps, while the silver fluid continued to pulse through the IV line.“Ella, hang in there,” I urged, panic creeping into my voice. Her eyelids fluttered, and a faint golden light began to shimmer under her skin, spreading from her fingertips to her veins.“Auriana…” she whispered weakly, her voice barely distinguishable. “Step back.”“What? No—”“Please,” she urged, her eyes glowing more intensely.Reluctantly, I took a step back, shielding my face as light emanated from her body. The silver in the IV line started to hiss and bubble, darkening before completely evaporating. The machines went haywire, their readings spiking then flatlining.Once the light dimmed, Ella's breathing had normalized. Her skin had gained warmth and life. She inhaled shakily and looked up at me with a tired smile. “That’s better.”I

Auriana's POVMy eyes darted at the boy on my window. I was sure I didn't know him but something about home felt oddly familiar.“Who are you?” I finally asked the question that had been troubling me. He looked behind me for a minute, maybe making sure no one was around, then he finally spoke.“Can I come in first, it's pretty uncomfortable here,” he asked with a sheepish smile. Normally I should have said no, after all, it wasn't safe letting a stranger in but to my surprise, I nodded and gave way as he jumped into my room.“Now, can you tell me who you are?” I demanded once he was inside.Instead of answering, he moved closer, studying me with an intensity that made my pulse quicken. Then, to my shock, he began sniffing me — like he was trying to confirm something.“It’s you,” he murmured, his tone filled with awe.“What do you mean?” I frowned.“I wasn’t sure when I got here,” he said slowly, “but now that I’ve seen you, I’m certain — you’re the one he’s been talking about.”“He?”

  • The Rebirth of His Enemy    Chapter 60: Dream

Auriana's POVI laid on my bed, tired of everything as my mind kept replaying the principal's words. My punishment— death….My death and mostly…. Lennox's death if I didn't marry Liam.I couldn't do that. I didn't even want to entertain the thought of marrying someone else. My mind drifted to Lennox. The way he looked, he couldn't even raise his head. My heart bled as I hugged my pillow tightly, reminiscing how tightly I held him last night. His scent still lingered faintly on the sheets. How I wish I could turn back time. If only I had woken up early enough, I would have stopped him from meeting with Liam. If only I knew this would happen, I wouldn't have brought him into this house….Lennox was going to be executed and it was all my fault. My choked sobs filled the room as I restlessly tossed on the bed. I felt helpless—unable to help him, I could only lie here and weep while he was being tortured. The screams resonating in my mind shattered me further. I cursed myself for being so w

  • The Rebirth of His Enemy    Chapter 59: Punishment

Lennox's POVI laid on the ground, my mind restless, my wolf subdued. I had tried to mind link the others but it wasn't possible. I couldn't even reach my wolf.My mind felt troubled, worried something was wrong with Auriana. I couldn't explain it but I felt it. I needed to know if she was fine. But how?My thoughts were interrupted by the sound of footsteps that echoed from the shadows. I didn't bother looking. It was probably another hunter.“It is so satisfying seeing you like this—where you belong.”That voice…My head snapped up to see Liam staring at me with disdain from the cell bars.“What a surprising visit. Did you come to check on me? How kind of you,” I mocked though my voice sounded hollow.“Tsk. Like I care. I still don't know why the hunters haven't killed you,” he hissed.“That's because unlike you, I'm useful Liam. Did you know one of them offered me to join them? I guess even the hunters prefer me over you.”His expression darkened instantly.“Stay away from Auriana.

Auriana's POV“Mr. Oliver, w.. what are you doing here?” I asked, forcing my voice to sound stable though I could feel my palms get wet from nervousness.“I came over to have an important discussion with your family. Where are you going?” He asked, his eyes narrowing slightly at me.“Oh. Uhm. If that's the case, my parents are inside.” Maybe he didn't know I was grounded. This was my chance to slip away. “Anyways, I'll get going.” I said, attempting to walk away when he stopped me.“You haven't answered my question Auriana,” he insisted, a soft smile gracing his lips. “Where are you going at this hour? If I'm not mistaken you are grounded.”My face went pale. He knew I wasn't allowed to leave, which meant he probably knew the reason why. Gosh, did mum really have to rat me out to the hunters? Aren't parents supposed to protect their kids? Well, I guess her honour as a hunter was more important.“Your mother and I are doing everything to plead in your favour. So don't make things diff

  • The Rebirth of His Enemy    Chapter 57: Offer

Chapter 57: Offer Lennox's POVA bucket of freezing water crashed over my face, forcing my eyes open. I drew in a ragged breath, trembling as my body felt numb. I tried to move but all I felt was pain. Slowly, my gaze lowered— my feet were chained, as well as my hands.I looked around, totally clueless of where I was, only the iron bars telling me I was in a cell. I tried to shift, but my wolf wouldn't respond. That was when I felt a cold metallic object wound around my neck.It was a choker and for the strangest reason, it caged my abilities. Did humans possess magical objects too?“You're finally awake,” A voice sneered, pulling me from my thoughts. I lifted my head to see a shadow figure approach me.“Princi—”I didn’t get to finish. He seized me by the collar and slammed my head against the iron bars. Pain exploded through my skull, the world tilting for a dizzy second.“You really had me fooled with your act,” he hissed, forcing my face against the cold metal.“Now–” he continue
