Chapter Fifty-Five: Caleb

As we all sat around the table, I was thankful that my dad had gone and grabbed the table leaf. As it was, Diana was sitting closer to me than I would have liked. Her elbow kept bumping mine as her dominant arm was next to mine. If the table was its usual size, our parents may have tried to get her to sit in my lap due to the limited space.

The tension may have been thick between the two of us, but our parents went on and on as if nothing had changed. They brought up memory after memory as if it would spark the romance between us again. When they didn't get a reaction out of that, they began to make future plans for us.

"I think that Ice Skating would be wonderful for us to do on your Christmas break! Oh, it is so romantic to skate under the twinkle lights! We can do a couple of pictures for the three of us in front of the tree. I'll have to start shopping so each couple can have a different matching Christmas sweater set! That would be so cute!"
