Chapter 2

I arrived downstairs to an unpleasant surprise. Ethel was standing in my kitchen and gazing at me in a murderous manner.

She is my brother's and Alpha's best friend. Like my brother and Alpha, she is 25 years old and has known them all of her life. She is currently clinging to them like a lifeboat. She was furious since neither my brother nor Alpha were her friends. It didn't stop her from trying to become Luna, though. She constantly demonstrates her value to Alpha while appealing to him to pick her as his mate.

Capable of werewolves.

If their present partner dies or if they are unable to find their ideal mate, they can take a chosen one. It is not acceptable, especially in our pack where we place a high importance on our friends. In general, packets work. However, some people are more tolerant of particular pairings.

Being tall, blonde, and attractive, Ethel was ideal. Her makeup was always impeccable. Her hair was always nicely styled and maintained. But all of that was done by the way she behaved. She was bitchy, obnoxious, and rude. She hated me and treated me like I was nothing. only if you and I were alone. When my brother or Alpha weather, she took on an entirely new persona. She was kind to me and even told my brother that I reminded her of her younger sister. Yuck. Even when I tried to inform my brother about her, he didn't believe me. He stated that I was jealous of her and the amount of time they spent together, and I was.

“Ethel.”, I said icily as I took a mug out of a cabinet.

"Good morning, ugly," she smirked. Sleeping as much as you do must be advantageous.

"Perhaps you should try it out." I started I filled my mug with coffee. You need as much rest for beauty as you can get.

I made a sneer on my face and turned to face her. She was furious.

Through her teeth, she snarled, "You little bitch." I'm going to turn into Luna shortly, and I'm going to banish you so fast you won't have time to blink.

She did it consistently. When she turned into a Luna, she threatened to expel me. I could only hope that she didn't turn into a Luna since I knew she would carry it through.

I wanted to respond, but I heard the front door open before I could. Our Alpha entered our kitchen along with my brother. In a flash, Ethel put her best fake smile forth.

I grinned wryly. How could anyone have missed how false she was?

My brother gave me a forehead kiss and said, "Good morning, little one."

That was his preferred moniker for me. He loved to point out that I was little, smaller than any wolf my age. especially given how big he was. He was 6'4" and ripped all over, just like Alpha.

We had striking similarities. Blue eyes and brown hair were features we shared. However, he had a darker tan than I did. I inherited my mother's fair skin. I spent a lot of time outside in the sun, yet I never seemed to tan.

Alan, good morning. Justin, good morning. I said while grinning.

Only in the privacy of our homes am I allowed to address Alpha by his first name. I have to call him Alpha on other occasions. Possibly Alpha Justin.

Not to Ethel's liking. Over their shoulders, she gave me an I will kill you' expression.

Saying "Good morning, Whitney ." As he sat at our kitchen table, Justin said.

"What are your plans for today, Whit?" As he prepared coffee for Justin and himself, Alan questioned.

I answered, "Nothing much." "I'll just hang out with Shirley and Brian after my hour-long training session."

It's your first shift tomorrow. Do you feel excited? Justin questioned me and then snatched my brother's coffee cup.

With a broad smile, I replied, "Yes." I'm eager to meet my wolf, I say.

"Perhaps, Whitney, you'll meet your soulmate," Ethel spoke icily. And perhaps tomorrow we shall lose you to him.

She gave my brother a phony sorrowful expression. Goddess, if they didn't see through her charade, they were so deaf.

My brother assured Ethel, "Don't be concerned." She will forever be our younger sister. That won't be taken away from us by any mate.

I felt like screaming and puking. Not my sister at all! She was a phony who was eager to get rid of me! I tried to grin at him, but I was unable to do so.

"You can begin working at a papackedouse after your shift.", stated Justin. You attended high school network at the pack office, correct?

I answered, grinning, "I did." "I am eager to get to work." “Good.”, Justin said while grinning.

When he smiled, he looked even more attractive. And that was uncommon. He typically took his role as an Alpha very seriously and was only interested in it. He always acted in his pack's best interests. He was very successful because of this.

He had the same height and physique as my brother. possibly even more. The two strongest wolves in the group were always the alpha and beta. And that was always obvious. The identities of alpha and beta were always obvious. He had green eyes and dark blonde hair. His lips appeared to be soft, and his jaw and nose were both nicely carved. He was sultry. That Ethel was so into him makes sense.

She lusted after my brother as well, but she didn't think she should be Beta's mate. She would, however, accept my brother's choice to make her his wife as well. She merely wanted the position and the authority. Sadly, they failed to notice that.

My thoughts were cut off by a doorbell. Brian came over.
