Chapter 5

I stood up on all fours a little while later, my white fur glistening in the moonlight. I boldly raised my head after taking a long breath.

My family and friends whirled around and exclaimed. Her aces are white. Luna Rachel uttered.

I tilted my wolf head as I turned to face her. Is that unique in any way?

"Whitney, we are a true white wolf pack. Everyone is not a pure white wolf. Hazel said.

Why do you mean that? I prompted her. "White wolves exist. I have previously seen them.

‘Yes. However, none of them are entirely white. With pride, she said. They all have different-colored patches and unique paws. All of us are white.

"What does that mean?" you ask. Shirley softly questioned.

My brother continued to stare at my wolf while saying, "I don't know." But she is gorgeous.

"She is," Brian spoke softly.

I looked at him and immediately felt disappointed. No sparks. No connection. He is not my mate.

We are not his, said Hazel. "We are someone else's,"

"Hazel, what do you mean?" I inquired, perplexed. Do you recognize our mate?

‘I do.’ She spoke. "You'll find out soon,"

What's his name? I queried. How did you find out?

A wolf rarely has any idea who his or her partner is. Only when they see them do they realize. but not earlier. What is happening?

"I am not discussing it with you," said Hazel. "At this point, put this out of your mind and concentrate on your loved ones." Attempting to mind-link you is Alan.

I turned my attention away from what we were saying and concentrated on the voice of my brother in my head. I can now mind-link the entire pack because I changed.

Whitney? He called me. Can you hear me, Whitney? Yes. I answered. I apologize; I was speaking to Hazel.

Whitney, you look lovely. With pride he said. Would you like to go running? Yes! I exclaimed, sounding ecstatic.

We all went for a run after my brother instructed the other members of the group to change. Hazel got to know every wolf, and it was clear that she adored them all. They adored her. Especially Apollo. Like Alan is with me, he paid close attention to Hazel and was cautious with her.

When enough was enough, I mind-linked Alan and ordered him to turn around. I became exhausted from the excitement and anxiety.

When we returned to the clearing, we put our clothing in our mouths. To reposition and change, we all went behind a tree.

"Backshifting also hurt, although not as much as the first time".

"It will get simpler every time we do this", Hazel added. It won't hurt at all after a while, they said.

My loved ones were waiting for me when I returned to the clearing. They kissed me a lot and offered me hugs. They are pleased that I now have my wolf and are proud of me. No one spoke about the fact that I'm pure white, I  simply chose to disregard it. Nothing exceptional about it. I'm not unique in any way.

Luna Rachel departed first. We spoke and laughed while we lingered at the clearing. After a short while, we proceeded to make our way home.

Alan and Shirley were in front of us as I walked with Brian at my side. The man said with anguish in his voice, "So, we are not mates."

"I suppose not," I replied without turning to face him.

However, he added, "That doesn't mean we can't be." "I'd pick you as my partner. I cherish you, Whitney.

I surprisedly turned to face him. My brother, however, interrupted me before I could respond.

He firmly stated, "Brian, no." "Not yet, at least. My sister is only 18 and there's a chance she'll find her true mate, but I know you adore her.

You can designate her as your preferred mate if she doesn't discover her partner by then and you don't in a few years. If she wants to find a predetermined partner. Nevertheless, not before she's had a chance to meet her real mate.

I peered between Brian and Alan.

Brian wanted to argue but understood that my brother was correct. I adore Brian, but I also want the opportunity to meet my ideal mate.

Brian and Alan stared at one other for a short while before Brian nodded and bowed.

You are correct, he murmured. But I'll hold out for her. I took Brian's hand in mine and murmured, "I'm sorry.

He smiled at me and said, "You have nothing to be sorry about."

The entire time, Shirley kept to herself, but I could see she was dejected. She sincerely desired for Brian and me to be mates.

We kept walking through the forest till we reached our home again. Following their farewells, Brian and Shirley returned home.

I glanced at my watch as Alan and I returned to the house. 10:00 p.m.

Hey, would you like to see another film? It is still possible. After asking, Alan removed my jacket and stored it.

I would, but I'm so exhausted. I said.

He grinned. “Yeah. That's what the first shift will do to you.

I just stated, "I'm going to bed." "I appreciate today. I was smitten.

He exclaimed, "I loved it too, little one." while beaming broadly. "I adore your wolf, as does Apollo."

I added with a smile, "We love you too."

While Alan went to the living room, I headed upstairs.

I got dressed in my pajamas and jumped in the shower. I instantly closed my eyes after climbing under the covers.

I don't believe I slept for very long until a loud banging on our front door aroused me.
