Meagan's POV

He paused abruptly on hearing her voice.

“How did you know that?“

“I had a best friend when I was in the human community. We attended the same school until…” Meagan's words turned into a bitter wail as she remembered how much she had suffered for years. “It's nothing. Life has never been fair to my family,” she concluded as she gulped down the few drops of water she had for the day.

“Meagan?“ the man called out as he wore a confused look approaching her slowly. They both held their gaze on eachother as they realized the truth. “Is this really you?“ He squatted in front of her as they both gaped at each other.

“How did you get here? How long have you worked with the Alpha?“ She asked as they collapsed into a hug. “Goodness! Meagan. It's hard to believe. You disappeared for a long time without notice only to find you in this condition? How did it happen?"
