LOGINMaliyla's POV
As the day went on, it passed slowly. The only visitors I had were Doctor Neal, who came to check my vitals and change the bandages, and Jeanie, who brought me lunch. Dr. Neal informed me that the wounds should be fully healed in two days. Meanwhile, I was advised to take it easy and relax. The only comfort I saw in that was that I could stay here longer and develop a game plan for my next move. Although in the back of my mind, I honestly didn't want to leave. Something about this place just felt right, and of course, Hector was easy on the eyes.
Upon returning to the bedroom from the restroom, I heard voices.
A man I didn't know asked, "What will you do?"
"She can stay here for now. I'll figure out how to tell her eventually. The rejection hurt her wolf, but she will return with time." Hector replied.
"What about the Blood Rose Pack?" the other voice asked.
"It won't be easy, but I will devise a plan. I refuse to let her suffer longer than she has," Hector growled.
"I understand and don't worry, I will do whatever it takes to help," the other voice said.
A short silence followed before the sound of a door opening and closing caught my attention. I was just about to step out from behind the door when it suddenly slammed right into me, making me fall back on the floor. I yelled out in pain and rubbed my forehead; I looked up only to see it was none other than Hector, who stood in the doorway grinning.
"Did you know that eavesdropping on other people's conversations is an invasion of privacy?" he asked, crossing his arms. As I stood, I glared at him.
"Did you know? A door hitting someone intentionally is assault," I replied. Hector gasped as if I had just said something outrageous; a loud laugh erupted as he exclaimed, "Well, I never!"
A sigh of relief escaped my lips as I gave him the finger and walked away, knowing I had made my point. As I headed toward the bed, I noticed a tray.
"I had Jeanie bring dinner to the room for us," Hector smiled as he walked past me. The grin on his face suggested he already knew what I would reply.
My brows furrowed at his choice of words, "US?" I repeated.
"Yes, I thought you'd prefer company rather than eating alone. If not, I can leave, and you can dine by yourself if you wish." Hector teased, knowing I had already been in this room for two days.
As he removed the cover from the tray, I limped back to my bed and sat down in deafening silence. I watched as he pulled a chair closer to the bed and sat down, his gaze never leaving my face. The warmth in his eyes softened my heart, and my anger melted away. I lowered my gaze and mumbled a quiet, "Thank you."
"You're welcome," Hector murmured, a tender smile playing at the corners of his lips as he handed me a plate of food.
There was nothing not to like about the food. It was a perfect meal with sirloin steak and steamed vegetables. Hector's face was filled with contentment as he watched me eat.
A sly smile spread across his face as he asked, "Tell me about the books you read?"
As soon as my books were mentioned, I felt my face flush. What could I say about the books? Even my parents didn't understand my fascination with them. I smiled shyly,
"Um, what would you like to know about them?" I asked.
"Well, tell me what they are about?" Hector replied as he stood up and grabbed one of the books off the nightstand. "What about this one?" he asked, holding up Alec, the Lycan King, who was my ultimate love.
I took a breath as my face flushed before I began explaining the book as quickly as possible.
"Umm, it's basically 50 Shades of Gray meets Twilight," I sighed as I shrugged my shoulders.
Hector looked at me perplexed; it was obvious that he was not understanding what I was saying.
I smiled and said, "It's a romantic fantasy novel full of drama, sex, and suspense."
"So p**n basically, and about werewolves interesting," Hector chuckled as he placed the book down.
"Whatever," I replied, rolling my eyes as I took a bite of my steak. Then I tilted my head to the side and decided to ask him a personal question as well. "Is it true?" I asked.
Hector's brows furrowed. "Can you be vaguer?" he replied.
I chuckled at his reply, "Are the rumors about you true?" I responded.
His eyes narrowed as he frowned. "It depends on the rumor. Tell me, and I'll let you know if it is true," he answered.
"Well, I've heard you killed your mate. Some say you're being punished for past sins, and some believe you're gay." I feigned a couch at the end.
Hector stared at me for a few moments before he laughed. "The rumors are false," he said. "I'm not being punished, and I'm definitely not gay."
In response, I asked, "Well, if you're not being punished, why don't you let your pack attend any of the other packs' ceremonies?"
"Who said we didn't attend?" Hector challenged.
"Well, I've never seen you at any events before, so I assumed everyone wasn't allowed," I muttered.
In response, Hector smiled and said, "Well, they are free to attend, but I choose not to."
"What about your mate?" I mumbled.
As he looked at me, he asked, "What about her?"
"Do you not have one?" I asked.
A smirk spread across his face. He responded, "Who said I didn't have a mate?"
Having no idea what to say, I remained silent. As Hector stepped closer to me, he smiled.
"I have a mate. The only problem is, I'm not sure if she knows we are mates," he said as he leaned closer to me, just inches from my face.
I stared into his eyes, feeling a connection I could not explain.
He gently brushed a strand of hair from my face and whispered, "Maybe she'll find out soon." He stepped back, and I blushed, realizing what he had just insinuated.
Hector's POVAfter landing, I immediately returned to work mode. Reviewing my emails, I discovered some that had not yet been answered and others that had. I was grateful for the time off to be with my mate, but I knew my pack also needed me. Jonathan and Daunte had done an excellent job in my absence. Crestview Pack was the only thing they would rather not handle without me. Daunte had expressed his concerns, and after the report I had received, I wasn't too sure I wanted to do business with them.(Flashback)"Nice to hear from you, Alpha Hector. How was the honeymoon?" Evangeline's voice came through on the other end of the phone."It was great. We had a good time," I replied."Well, that is good news, but I am sure you didn't call me just to say hello. To what do I owe the pleasure of this call?" she asked.
Maliyla's POV***Four weeks later***It had been a week since Hector and I left Maketa. It turned out that the storm that kept us there for an extra week was not as bad as they expected. Despite initial reports of a category-five hurricane, it turned out to be a tropical storm. Despite the heavy rain and wind, the storm did not prove to be as severe as expected. After being away from home for a month and one week, it took a few days for me to get back into the swing of things. The fact that Hector did not miss a beat was to the point that it was as if he had never left in the first place. Jonathan was glad to see us again.(Flashback)"Next time you two plan a honeymoon, don't," Jonathan told us after picking us up from the airport."Surely, it wasn't that bad," I uttered as I entered the car."Please don
Maliyla's POVMakatea, goddess, this place was incredible. From the food to the ocean, it was paradise. I thought I had seen everything until I stepped foot here. Words couldn't do justice to the beauty of this place. In a way, it was like entering a dream. This beach was filled with clear, warm, and inviting water. Trees, lush greenery, and white sand created a peaceful, inviting atmosphere. Hector and I spent the entire morning and afternoon on the beach. We spent the whole day swimming, sunbathing, and exploring the area. It wasn't until my stomach growled that Hector said we should head back."No, we can stay a bit longer," I whined as I turned on my stomach."Don't make me drag your ass back to the hotel," Hector replied as he stood up.I laughed, "You wouldn't."Suddenly, I felt his hand grip my ankle, and he dragged me down
Hector's POVOur first day had been spent worshiping each other's bodies. I couldn't get enough of my adorable little vixen. Fire and passion are the only words I could use to describe her. She matched me in that aspect. Maliyla was wild and unapologetic in her desires. I felt alive being with her and wanted to make her feel the same way. Making her feel loved and cherished was my top priority, and I knew I would do anything to make her happy. We had an intense connection that was unlike anything I had experienced before. Every moment together felt like a dream. As I awoke the following day, I could smell food and hear soft music. I glanced over at the alarm clock on the bedside table and saw it was nine o'clock. After getting out of bed, I put on a pair of sweatpants and went to the bathroom to wash my face. Having finished washing my face, I walked to the kitchen. There, I found Maliyla preparing breakfast wh
Maliyla's POVAs Hector's lips peppered kisses down my neck, I gently placed my hand on his cheek. The touch of his hand sent shivers down my spine, and my heart began to race. His hands slowly made their way to my waist, and I turned in his arms as I pulled him closer and kissed him ever so passionately. A soft moan escaped from me as Hector's hand slipped onto my ass and lifted me. My legs instinctively wrapped around his waist as he spun around and headed toward the room. We stumbled through the door with Hector's arms around me tightly. Taking me up against the wall, he passionately kissed me. I felt my heart rate increase as I melted into his embrace. I could feel his heart pounding, his breath quickening. I whimpered when his lips left mine. Still holding me against the wall, he looked deep into my eyes."I love you, Maliyla Giuliano. I have loved you since the day I found you lying in the forest. It was
Maliyla's POVThere aren't enough words to describe Hector. Every aspect of the man is remarkable. He is always willing to listen and does not judge. His support has been invaluable during some of my most challenging times, and he is always there to help me. Honestly, he is one of the most amazing people I have ever met. Kindness and generosity are what make him who he is. My life would not be the same without him, and I am eternally grateful for all he has done for me. My mate is incredible, and I am so lucky to have him.As soon as he said we were going to Makatea, I had never heard of it before, but when he said it was an island just off the coast of Tahiti, I knew immediately where it was. It would have been easier for him to say Tahiti, but men are men. Once we were airborne, I let sleep take over until I heard my name called."Maliyla," she whispered softly. My eyes opened to fi
