Chapter 8

Athena and Ardolf woke up early the next morning after a night filled with love and passion. Ardolf was already up and stuffing some clothes into their backpacks. Athena rubbed her eyes and yawned. "Are we still on track to get to Luka today?" she asked.

Ardolf nodded. "We should be able to get some useful information about Luka from some of my old acquaintance here in Esteros. The only problem now is finding them and making sure they are still loyal to me.

As they sat by the fire, Athena and Ardolf discussed their plan for finding Luka undetected. Ardolf's sworn enemy, Luka Pack, had been causing chaos in the area since he was betrayed and captured by the Omega Lab scientist, and he didn't want to risk being seen by any of Luka's spies or allies.

"We need to be careful," Ardolf said, his voice low. "Luka Pack thinks I'm dead, but that doesn't mean his people won't recognize me. If any of his member sights me in town, it will be an advantage for them. We have to appear to them offgua
