Defending Renee

Arielle’s POV:

I had a lot of words to say to Richard right then but I could tell that it was going to be the wrong move. After all, he was staring- no, more like glaring daggers at Renee as she walked out of my office. He looked like he was going to rip her throat out for even breathing the same air as him.

This was not the Richard I knew; he was clearly so angry that I doubted he’d listen to reason now.

But what else could I say?

What could I tell him to convince him that he was wrong about Renee?

Before I could even say a word as soon as the door of my office shut behind Renee’s exit, Richard promptly turned to me.

“I told you to not trust her,” were the first words out of his mouth. His handsome face was screwed up into a scowl and he looked positively furious.

In an attempt to calm him down, I tried to speak up.

“Richard, the thing is that-“

But he cut me off, and was pacing around my office like a wild animal on the prowl. He looked dangerous, his aura intimidating and powerful.
