Victor's POV

I opened my mouth to answer, but she stepped forward before I could speak.

“Alpha Victor,” she said loud enough for people nearby to turn their heads. “You were the one who chose Camilla. You made me leave.” Her words were sharp and honest. There was no shaking in her voice, no sadness either.

Roland, who was standing beside me, shifted awkwardly, clearly feeling the tension between us. He patted my shoulder.

“You two… should maybe go talk in private,” he whispered before quickly slipping away.

But I couldn’t move. I was too drawn in.
