Selene's POV

The Harvest Festival was held on top of the mountain, enveloped in mist and moonlight, surrounded by trees that swayed gently with the wind. The venue was a luxury resort, decorated with shining glass and golden lights, tucked right into the hillside.

Inside, a wide event hall smelled like roses and sweet wine. The air was filled with soft violin music mingling with the sounds of laughter, chatter, and the clinking of wine glasses. While everyone looked really beautiful, to me, I felt… empty.

When I arrived, the first floor was already packed. It was loud and hot and filled with faces I didn’t recognize. People pushed past me in glittering gowns and pressed suits. Everyone smelled like perfume and power, and I felt like I was drowning in it.
