Seven

Ellie ran her hand over her hair as she stared at the blood that dripped from the body. The cross sign was neatly carved on the wolf's body. The person was probably an artist, his or her main goal was probably perfection and they might have achieved that.

The view was quite gruesome but she was less concerned. Apart from the fact that her eyes had already adapted to the scene, her thoughts were somewhere else. Her eyebrows were squeezed together, so were her lips. She stared intensely as her mind went back to one person.

It had to be her, Ellie thought to herself. After all, she's the only one who got banished. She wanted revenge that was why she was going through all this, Ellie concluded by herself. She had to inform Gerald. Besides, she knew how her sister could be.

"I might know who caused this," She said absently before she clicked her tongue.

Gerald and Donald stopped talking and stared at Ellie. The cold forest breeze hit her face and sent some of her hair on her face. Ellie used her hands as a brush and moved them away, fixing them perfectly.

"Who is it?" Gerald asked his mate.

"Aria of course," Ellie replied, placing her hands on her waist.

"But why would she do this? How is she even related to this? I don't think she's the one, she is not even strong enough to lift a metal rod? So how would she do this?" Donald questioned not believing her.

"Are you doubting me? I know what I am saying, it is definitely Aria! She exclaimed.

"But.." Donald was about to speak but Gerald held his hands up at his face.

"Ellie, why do you think it’s Aria," he asked as he folded his arms across his broad chest.

"Isn't it obvious? She's the evil twin, She must have cast an evil eye on the pack," Ellie replied, throwing up her hands in the air and making an exaggerated sigh. She fixed her gown properly before she moved towards Gerald.

Gerald stared at the body again and tried to rethink what Ellie had just said.

"But this is a mark made by werewolf hunters,” Donald commented.

"Why are you defending her? Do you have something to do with her? I said I know she's the one and she had to be responsible for every incident in the pack," Ellie retorted.

Gerald threw Donald an unpleasant glare and he knew what to do.

"I am terribly sorry my Luna, I should really not doubt you, you are right," He apologized to avoid any more problems.

"But Donald might be right, it may not be her doing," Gerald added, still examining the body from afar.

"Let's try to find pieces of evidence around, like scents or something before we reach further conclusions," Donald added bravely on hearing his Alpha’s confirmation.

He grabbed a handful of dirt in his hands and sniffed it.

"It doesn't smell like a wolf at all," He said.

He sniffed again. He stood up and moved towards Gerald. Donald placed it under his nose and Gerald gave a brief sniff.

"It's a human's scent," Gerald concluded.

He had a better experience as alpha because he had to leave their territory sometimes and handle things on the other side. He was very familiar with a Human's scent.

"You see? We were right, after all, please my luna we shouldn't come to conclusions like this, what if another wolf heard or saw this? They would want to have Aria's head!" Donald enlightened

"But for the werewolf hunters to gain access to this part, they need access right?" Ellie asked.

"Affirmative," Donald replied.

He turned back to what was doing and ignored what Ellie was saying. Gerald also assisted. They continued to sniff and search until they found another hint or at least a wolf's smell.

They heard the bushes ruffle and they turned in that direction. Gerald stood up and checked what caused the noise. Donald and Ellie were both quiet as they watched Gerald.

"Oh, it's just a little bunny," Gerald said.

"For a second I thought it was a hunter," Ellie said as she held her hands to her chest.

"They wouldn't hurt you, my love," He said before he entwined his long fingers in hers.

"Even if they tried to lay a finger on your head I will kill them one by one" Gerald reassured before he smiled.

"I love you," She said before she placed a kiss on his cheeks.

"This is a wolf's scent," Donald interrupted before he stood up.

"Let me see," Gerald said, letting go of her hands and he approached Donald.

He brought it close to his nose and he also sniffed.

"It smells quite familiar," Gerald said. "It is a female scent," Gerald added.

He rubbed his temple briefly for he heaved a sigh.

He walked towards Ellie and placed the scent under her nose.

The smell hit her and she shoved it away from her nose. She growled at him and he poured it back on the floor.

Ellie looked up at her mate and shook her head.

"I told you so, didn't I?" She said smugly.

"What if it was just pure coincidence? What if she happened to just pass here?" Donald asked.

"Or what if she was just a victim? They probably wanted to kill her instead?" Donald added.

"But what if she was not a victim? Let's look at this on the bright side! Hello, she's the evil twin! What if because she was angry she walked down through this path then she met them, so what if.." Ellie stopped her sentence and looked in Donald's direction.

"No," Donald refused to believe

"Yes, that could be the only way, I mean who else could do this?" Ellie asked.

"She is the one, she's the one who gave the werewolf hunters access out of rage," Gerald concluded before he looked at his mate.

Then he said in a chilling voice as he stared at Donald.

“She needs to be stopped!”
