Chapter 10

I was mopping the floor the next day at the company, as my mind kept drifting back to the mysterious bouquet of black roses that had appeared on my doorstep last night. I couldn't shake the feeling of unease that had settled over me since then.

Just then, Mia and Jessica walked into the company, laughing and joking with each other. Mia had a piece of black rose in her hand, and my heart sank immediately I noticed. It was clear that she was the one who had sent me those flowers.

I felt a mix of relief and anger wash over me. On one hand, it was good to know that the Black Bird Wolves weren't after me. But on the other hand, I couldn't believe that Mia would play such a cruel trick on me. I quickly finished up my work and headed to the restroom to talk to Miranda.
