The Rejected Mate
As I approached Alpha Blake, he turned to face me with a solemn expression. His eyes, which used to be filled with love and adoration for me, were now cold and distant. I felt a pang of worry in my chest, but I pushed it aside, thinking it was just nerves.
"Alpha Blake," I said softly, smiling up at him.
"Hello, Sophia," he replied curtly.
I frowned slightly, wondering what was wrong. But before I could ask, Alpha Blake turned to the crowd of werewolves gathered around us.
"Thank you all for coming here today to witness the engagement ceremony of Sophia and myself," he said, his voice booming across the clearing.
There were cheers and applause from the crowd, but I couldn't concentrate on anything except Alpha Blake's strange behavior. Something was off, and I couldn't quite put my finger on it.
"However," Alpha Blake continued, his tone serious now. "I have come to a difficult decision. As the Alpha of the Night Walker pack, it is my duty to ensure the survival and prosperity of our kind. And with that in mind, I have decided to break off my engagement to Sophia."
My heart dropped to my stomach, and I felt tears prickling at the corners of my eyes. This can't be happening. Alpha Blake couldn't possibly be breaking up with me. We were meant to be together forever.
"I have instead chosen Leah, Sophia's stepsister, as my mate," Alpha Blake announced.
Sophia is heartbroken at that moment that Alpha Blake, chooses her stepsister over her. Devastated, Sophia decides to start a new life in a different country, and that is where her worst nightmare started from because she get a job in her pack's biggest enemy company, Alpha Derick Mondragon. She was mistreated to the last drop...

Chapter: Chapter 82~Sophia~The MC took the mic, his voice booming through the venue. "Let's welcome the CEO of the party ball roll, Alpha Eduardo!" The crowd erupted into applause, hands clapping in unison. Alpha Eduardo made his way to the podium, his presence commanding the room. He collected the mic, his gaze sweeping over the eager faces before him."I welcome you all to the ball roll party," he began, his voice steady and confident. "But this year, ball roll will be different. You know, before, millionaires became billionaires by winning a ticket. But for tonight, you will all win more than money."I turned to Derick, a sense of curiosity and apprehension gnawing at me. "What is he up to?" I whispered, my eyes fixed on Alpha Eduardo.Derick's eyes narrowed, a thoughtful expression on his face. "Just like I thought," he murmured. "He might be up to something."Suddenly, a voice whispered urgently behind us, sending a shiver down my spine. "I don't think I can stay here. We need to leave now!"Deric

Chapter: Chapter 81~Alpha Blake POV~ I found myself back in the underground chamber, a hint of relief and anticipation in my chest. Derick and Sophia had surprisingly agreed to my proposal, and I was determined to use this opportunity to my advantage. The power balance had shifted, and I would try to manipulate their followers to support my cause.Positioned next to me, Derick's loyal rogues appeared guarded. They weren't willing to let their guard down, which I understood perfectly. I had caused their Alpha considerable trouble and hurt, and now it was up to me to rebuild their trust."Hey, you guys care for some wine?" I inquired with a friendly tone, trying to ease the tension in the room. They exchanged cautious glances, and one of them replied, "No, thanks."I noted their reluctance to engage with me on a personal level. It was clear that they were maintaining their professionalism, and perhaps a hint of suspicion lingered. I decided to press on, breaking through their defensive barriers."Come on

Unbeknownst to him, Blake was concealed, hidden away from his prying eyes.Alpha Eduardo sniffed the air, his nostrils flaring as he detected the distinct scent of a wolf. His brows furrowed with rage, and he commanded his rogues to search every corner of the mansion. "Find Blake! If he's here, I will make Derick pay for his treachery."The rogues, obedient to their Alpha's command, scoured every room, their eyes darting with intensity. They turned over furniture, opened closets, and investigated every possible hiding spot, but Blake remained elusive.Alpha Eduardo's impatience grew with each passing second. "Where is he?" he growled, his voice laced with frustration. "Bring him to me, or I will tear this place apart!"The rogues returned empty-handed, their expressions filled with disappointment. "Alpha, we have searched every inch of the mansion. There is no sign of Blake,

Chapter: Chapter 79~Sophia Pov~Derick and I found solace in the peaceful haven we had created for ourselves, as we go on vacation beside ocean. The Moonstone Pack flourished under Derick's wise leadership, and together, we basked in the tranquility that had eluded us for so long."You know, Sophia," Derick said, a smile playing on his lips, "it's refreshing not having to constantly watch our backs."I chuckled, savoring the newfound freedom. "Indeed, Derick. It's a welcome change to be able to enjoy our lives without the constant threat of Blake and Mia looming over us."We strolled hand in hand through the lush, sun-kissed meadows surrounding our pack's territory. The soft rustle of leaves and the melodious songs of birds filled the air, creating a symphony of serenity."Remember when we used to fight tooth and nail just to survive?" I mused, a hint of nostalgia in my voice.Derick nodded, his eyes filled with a mix of pride and determination. "Those days are behind us now, Sophia. We've come a long w

Chapter: Chapter 78The wind whipped through the car, carrying a heavy silence between us. Eventually, I mustered the courage to break it."We can't run forever, Blake," I spoke softly, my voice tinged with a mix of fear and determination.Blake glanced at me, his eyes filled with a mix of frustration and resignation. "I know," he admitted begrudgingly. "But right now, we need a plan. One that doesn't involve crawling back to Derick and Sophia."I nodded, understanding his reluctance. "Agreed. We can't rely on them anymore. We're on our own."Suddenly, the realization struck me like a bolt of lightning. "Wait," I exclaimed, my voice tinged with a glimmer of hope. "There might be someone who can help us."Blake's eyebrows furrowed in confusion. "Who?""The Crescent Pack," I replied eagerly. "They're neutral in this conflict, and they have the resources and strength to stand against Alpha Eduardo."A hint of intrigue flickered in Blake's eyes. "Do you think they'll listen to us after everything that's happ

Chapter: Chapter 77The weight of our impending battle with Alpha Eduardo bore heavily on my mind as I paced the dimly lit room. Desperation led me to suggest an unlikely alliance with the Moon Stone Pack, knowing that their strength could be crucial in our fight against the tyrant alpha. The weight of my suggestion hung heavily in the air as Blake's fury flared, his grip tightening around my neck. His eyes glowed with anger, and for a moment, I feared he might do something irreversible. When he finally released me, I took a deep breath, trying to steady myself."Listen to me, Blake," I urged, my voice resolute. "I know our history with Derick and Sophia is complicated, but this isn't about pride or past grudges. Alpha Eduardo is a true threat, and we need all the help we can get."Blake's face contorted with frustration, but he seemed to consider my words. "I can't believe I'm even considering this," he muttered, rubbing his temples."It's not easy for any of us," I admitted. "But desperate times call

Chapter: Chapter 7~Serah POV~Branches tore at my gown as Tristan dragged me through the woods and behind us, hooves pounded and men shouted as I heard my father's voice cut through it all like a whip, steady, cruel, detached. "Bring her back alive! The child is proof. Don't fail Lord Veylen." My chest tightened, he didn't even say my name."Keep moving," Tristan's breath was rough, his grip like an iron on my wrist. "Don't look back!""You don't understand," I stumbled over a root, nearly falling. "That was my father!""I know who it was, and I don't care! He made his choice, now make yours and live.""I can't outrun them," I gasped. My thigh throbbed where the blade had cut me and blood was soaking through the makeshift bandage. "They'll catch us, Tristan."He spun on me, eyes blazing. "Do you want me to carry you?""Uhn?" My eyes were wide with surprise, "No!""Then run! Because I swear Serah, if you stop now you're handing Jethro exactly what he wants." His words hit harder than the pain and I forc

Chapter: Chapter 6~Serah POV~"They're coming for both of you." Tristan's voice shut the camp down like a blade. No one argued as orders flew: wagons packed, children bundled, blades checked; the mercenaries moved with an ugly efficiency; fear makes people fast. I felt the baby spin, a small, real thing inside my hollowed chest, and the world contracted to two words: keep breathing."Serah," Tristan said, low, "stay near me, and no matter what, do not show any sign of fear.""You think I'd leave you?" I snapped, because saying it kept me from saying the other truth: I did not want him to die because I had been weak. His jaw tightened. "Then, don't get killed doing something stupid."We moved along the beaten track, boots soft on wet earth, the night smelled like smoke and someone's unfinished prayer. From the trees came the first sound of them... a wet, sucking noise, like mouths drawing breath."Hunters?" I asked."A blend," Tristan said. "Human hunters backed by blood-magic, I'm sure Jethro sends the

Chapter: Chapter 5~Serah POV~The camp was chaos as men grabbed blades, women snatched their children, horses shrieked in panic, then Tristan's voice cut through the uproar. "Move! Take only what you can carry." He turned to me, eyes sharp. "Stay closer to me."My stomach twisted, and the baby fluttered as though sensing danger. "What if they catch us?" I asked."They won't," Tristan said flatly, shoving a cloak around my shoulders. "Not when I'm alive." His words chilled me as we fled into the forest, branches clawed at my gown, mud s*ck*d at my shoes and behind us, the campfires dimmed, swallowed by night. Then, faintly, the sound of horns came"They're close," Tristan muttered.I stumbled. "They're here for me and the baby."He gripped my arm, steadying me. "Then we'll make them regret coming."Hours later, when the hunters finally caught us, the moon was high, shadows moved between the trees, half a dozen men in black armor, the Veylen crest gleaming on their chests. The leader sneered. "By order o

Chapter: Chapter 4~Serah POV~My hands ached, raw from the dagger's hilt and the blade slipped, slicing my palm. "Again!" Tristan barked.Blood dripped onto the dirt as I bit back a curse. "I'm pregnant, you should take it easy on me.""Neither excuse nor weakness matters in war." His crimson eyes narrowed. "Again!"I gritted my teeth, lifted the dagger, and slashed at the wooden dummy. My arms trembled, but the blade cut true. Tristan finally nodded. "Better, you may yet survive long enough to see vengeance."I dropped onto a log, breathing ragged. "You enjoy torturing me, don't you?"He smirked. "I enjoy shaping something useful out of wasted potential, note that.""Charming." I pressed a cloth into my bleeding palm. "And here I thought you cared.""I don't." His voice was flat, but he handed me clean bandages all the same.I caught the flicker in his eyes as I tied the cloth, he cared about me more than he wanted to admit. Nights bled into weeks and my belly grew, small but undeniable. Every time I

Chapter: Chapter 3~Serah POV~The rain had eased by dawn, leaving the streets slick with mud, my gown clung heavy and wet, the hem torn where I'd stumbled over cobblestones. I hadn't slept, I hadn't eaten, but I kept moving.I whispered to my stomach as though the child could hear me. "We'll survive this somehow."The tavern keeper at the city's edge sneered when I begged for shelter. "No coin, no roof, get out!" He slammed the door in my face.So I walked through alleys and markets where merchants jeered, through crowds that parted like I had carried the plague by nightfall, I collapsed on the riverbank, the world tilting around me."Pathetic sight, isn't it?" a voice drawled. I jerked upright and saw a tall man leaned against a tree, half-hidden in shadowy black cloak, eyes gleaming red in the moonlight like a predator's gaze.I stumbled back. "Stay away from me!"He smirked. "If I wanted you dead, little bride, you'd already be bleeding."His words chilled me. "Wait, you… know who I am?""Oh, everyo

Chapter: Chapter 2~Serah POV~I woke the next morning with red eyes and an empty bed. The maids entered quietly, their faces blank as they set down a tray of untouched food, avoided my gaze, and slipped out again as though I were contagious. I sat there for hours, staring at the cold bread, until a knock broke the silence. The healer entered, a frail man, his hands trembling as he bowed. "My lady, forgive the intrusion. I was ordered to examine you, as is tradition for newly bound brides."I forced myself to sit straighter. "Alright."He worked in silence, muttering incantations, checking my pulse and aura, then he froze as his eyes widened."What is it?" I asked quickly."My lady…" His voice trembled. "You carry a child."I blinked. "A… child? You mean a child in my belly?""Yes." His lips quivered into a hesitant smile."That's the lord's heir."I scoffed and was confused, because an heir? Jethro's heir? Perhaps this was my chance, my one piece of leverage, if love wasn't enough, maybe duty was. "Tha
