#Chapter 4 Meeting The Alpha

Amelia’s POV

The next morning, I woke up to the smell of breakfast cooking in the kitchen. I got up and walked out of my room, following the scent to the main living area.

Lucas and Isabella were already there, and they greeted me warmly. Lucas handed me a plate of pancakes and bacon, and I dug in hungrily.

"So, what's the plan for today?" I asked, between bites.

Lucas looked at me thoughtfully. "Well, we should probably start by figuring out where you want to go next," he said. "Do you want to try and find another pack to join, or do you want to stay here with us?"

I paused, considering my options. "I don't know," I admitted. "I don't really have any other options at this point. But I don't want to be a burden on you guys."

"You're not a burden," Isabella said firmly. "We're here to help you, no matter what."

I smiled gratefully at her. "Thank you."

Lucas stood up. "Why don't we go for a walk and talk about it some more?" he suggested.

We all put on our jackets and headed outside. The air was crisp and cold, and I pulled my coat tighter around me.

As we walked, Lucas asked me more about my past and my experiences with other packs. I told him everything, holding nothing back.

When I finished, he sighed. "I'm sorry that you've had to go through all of that," he said. "But I want you to know that things can be different. We're not like other packs. We don't reject people just because they're different."

I nodded, feeling a sense of hope flutter in my chest. Maybe there was a place for me after all.

We continued to walk, talking about everything from the weather to our favorite books. It felt good to be with them, to be part of a group again.

After a while, we came across a small clearing in the woods. Lucas suggested we sit down and rest for a bit.

As we sat there, enjoying the peace and quiet, I noticed something moving in the trees. At first, I thought it was a deer or some other woodland animal, but then I saw the glint of yellow eyes.

I tensed, and Lucas noticed my reaction. "What is it?" he asked, following my gaze.

I pointed towards the trees, and we all watched as a large wolf stepped out from the underbrush. It was black as night, with piercing yellow eyes that seemed to glow in the sunlight.

As soon as it saw us, it froze, staring at us intently.

"Is that a werewolf?" I whispered, feeling a shiver run down my spine.

Lucas nodded, his eyes never leaving the wolf. "It looks like it," he said quietly.

We all sat there, watching as the wolf circled us slowly. It seemed to be studying us, trying to decide if we were a threat.

After a few tense minutes, the wolf stopped in front of me. It sniffed at my feet, and then looked up at me, locking eyes with me.

I held my breath, unsure of what to do. But then, to my surprise, the wolf lowered its head and licked my hand.

I gasped, feeling a rush of emotion wash over me. It was like the wolf could sense my pain and wanted to offer comfort.

Lucas and Isabella both looked amazed, and I could see the excitement in their eyes.

"That's incredible," Isabella said softly. "I've never seen anything like that before."

The wolf continued to nuzzle my hand, as if it was trying to tell me something.

"What do you think it wants?" I asked, feeling a strange connection to the animal.

Lucas shrugged. "I don't know. Maybe it's trying to tell you something."

We sat there for a few more minutes, watching as the wolf eventually wandered off into the woods.

As we got up to leave, I couldn't help but feel like that encounter had meant something. Maybe it was a sign that things were starting to look up for me.

We continued our walk, discussing the wolf and what it could mean. Lucas suggested that we do some research on local werewolf packs and see if any of them were more accepting.

By the time we got back to the cabin, I felt more hopeful than I had in a long time. Maybe there was a pack out there that would accept me for who I was.

As we settled in for the night, I couldn't help but think about the wolf and what it had represented. It was like a glimmer of hope in the darkness, a sign that things were starting to change for the better. And for the first time in a long time, I went to sleep with a sense of peace in my heart.
