Bianca’s POV

The hall erupted in gasps of surprise at his words.

I staggered back, struck by his words.

The little air that had gathered in my lungs was punched out as my breath began to leave me in small gaps.

My eyes blurred, my vision swimming before me as my entire world began to tilt on its sphere.

“No…” the words barely escaped my lips whole.

They sounded how I felt–broken.

He couldn't possibly mean that.

"Why are you rejecting me?" I demanded in a shrill voice as I clutched my chest with my hands.

Marcus’s voice did not falter when he spoke.

“You are weak and unworthy to be my Luna. The Luna is to be a pillar of strength and a champion who can match her Alpha. She is not to ne a fragile healer who can’t even stand on her own."

The words hit me like an avalanche.

"And that is what you are Bianca.”

I shook my head, unwilling to accept what he was saying.

My chest tightened the more.

"Weak? You didn't think of that when you fucked me three nights ago?!" I screamed.

His eyes widened, but he quickly recovered his composure.

"You were in my bed willingly Elara, I didn't force you."

I nearly choked on my tongue as he turned to Selene and took her hand.

He drew her close and lifted her hands high for everyone to see.

“This is the woman I choose,” Marcus declared.

My heart sank to my stomach.

He was really going to reject me for her?

“She is strong and noble," he began. "She come from a bloodline that is worthy of standing beside me as Luna. Together we will build a secure future for this pack.”

"No, no," I shook my head weakly.

The tears burned my eyes, covering my vision as it poured out like an angry rain after a sunny week.

I couldn't believe it.

This couldn't be real.

It had to be a nightmare.

Selene turned to me and I saw her smirk curve into a full smile.

My knees began to give out beneath me but he grabbed me by the shoulders before I could greet the ground.

His eyes bored into mine.

I saw nothing of the Marcus I knew: only impatience and mercilessness was lurking behind those glassy orbs.

I saw it in them, his decision.

His mind was made up.

"I reject you Bianca, accept the rejection lest I use force," he bellowed in my face. "Do you accept?" He demanded.

I had no choice.

I could agree or be forced to.

I would rather let go.

"Yes, I accept," I whispered in a weak voice.

The invisible bond between us instantly shattered.

I screeched as pain followed, rippling through me after his inconsiderate and merciless words.

My chest constricted.

A scream tore through my throat as it burned me.

He let go of me to battle him own pain and I collapsed to my knees.

The mate bond was running through me like the fires of hell and breaking me apart cruelly on the inside.

I saw my healing light go off like a candle in a storm.

“Marcus!” I gasped.

I clawed at the floor as if I could hold on to it.

“Please… don’t do this. You are hurting me. You are destroying me,” I begged through my tears.

But, he didn't listen.

No one did.

Marcus didn’t even look at me in pain, surprising me who was almost dying in my knees.

He turned instead to Selene, leaving me to wallow in agony.

"My Luna!" He announced.

The entire pack ululated; some were clapping and whistling in approval while the others were torn.

My vision blurred with tears and the agony inside my chest made it hard to breathe.

It felt as if broken glass was stuck deep in my chest, piercing my heart tissues either each tear.

I could only hear voices buzzing in whispers around me.

“But she really wasn’t strong enough.”

“I always knew Marcus deserved someone else.”

“Bianca is good but she is not the best for Luna.”

“Poor girl… this could have been done differently.”

My hands shook uncontrollably as my healing power began to flash in weak, unstable sparks.

The broken bond had affected it.

It had broken too.

It had broken alongside the years I had spent with this man, my mate, who was discarding me for another woman.

“Marcus…” I whispered again with desperation. “Please...”

But his back was already turned to me and he was buried in Selena’s arms like nothing had just happened.

"And I want to also announce, that my new Luna is expecting our first child and the heir to our pack."

I froze.

My eyes widened.

Expecting?

Marcus had been cheating on me? With her?

I screamed.

"No! No! That's not true!" I yelled.

But nobody glanced at me.

The crowd ululated at the news while my heart shattered into a gazillion uncountable pieces.

The shards of betrayal pricked me deeper when I clutched my chest, weeping in anguish at what was lost.

He had called me the most beautiful, undressed me and fucked me hard just three nights ago.

All those words, I thought he meant them, telling me we were mates who would be mated.

All of those tactics just go get into my bed and into my pant.

I was so gullible.

I recalled all of our times together, me and him, the early stages of our relationship.

I recalled the late stages, the cold dismissal and the replies her had given me lately.

I recalled how the time we had spent had significantly been reduced.

He had either been with the council or with Selene, discussing pack business.

They discussed pack business in his throne room, in his office, in his study.

And even in his bedroom.

Marcus had said it was nothing.

He had lied.

I realized that it had never been me.

I was never his.

It must have always been her.

Selene.

My world had just ended.

I wept, lamenting in the midst of those who celebrated and gloated over my misfortune.

I cried till I saw feet in front of me.

I raised my face to see Councilman Reid

He was one of the most respected elders of the pack and he was staring down at me.

His expression was unreadable but his eyes were not cruel or cold like Marcus.

They were heavy with something else that was apparently worse than pity.

“Child,” Reid murmured.

He bent down close enough to me so that I was the only one who could hear him.

“Get up and pull yourself together. We need to talk now, about your future in this pack.”

My heart which was though torn and bleeding instantly skipped a beat.

What was happening?

“My… future?” I rasped.

My voice was barely audible.

Reid’s expression darkened.

“You won’t have one here if we don’t act quickly.”

Confusion washed over me.

"Why?" I demanded.

"Because a cast out Luna is seen as a threat and always thrown out of the pack."

I immediately felt faint.

Everything rapidly blurred and the hall began to spin all around me.

Marcus’s rejection was still burning in my veins and Reid’s words had only just cut it as deep as the rejection.

My life in this pack would be over?

How was this all happening?

I swayed as my vision dimmed but Councilman Reid’s grip steadied my body.

The last thing I heard was his whisper, low but urgent as it rang loudly in my ear.

“Everything you thought you knew was a lie.”

  • The Rejected Omega Who Was Always Meant To Be Queen   An influx of patience

The door to my healer's court was pushed open as two women rushed in, holding young children in their arms. I dropped the wooden stick with which I was stirring the herb I was filling into jars and hurried towards them. “What? What is it?” I asked, panic already setting in at the agitated movements. Some of the men also followed behind them, with cuts on their arms and faces. “We don't know,” one of the young women who had come in said. “We all just woke up and saw that everyone was down with something. And it seems the curse in the land is spreading faster than it had in several years,” she explained to me.“Oh my!” I gasped. “Set up the beds! Put the children there so I can attend to them!” I barked orders at the able bodied. It was all hands on deck as we arranged the beds and had everyone who could not move settled down. This was a sign of the curse. I could tell by the paleness of their skin and the colour of their eyes. The children cried loudly as I tried to check their wou

  • The Rejected Omega Who Was Always Meant To Be Queen   The pressure is getting worse

LOGAN'S POV “The council still awaits you, Alpha.” Kieran called out gently, half stepping into the room. “They have…” “I do not want to see anyone at the moment.” I replied. There was a resigned sigh as the door opened wider, Kieran stepped in and stood before me. “There is no way I can tell them to leave, Alpha,” he said, frustration evident in his voice. None of it was his fault. I knew that but it did nothing to soothe the anger in me.“Would you rather I chased you along with them?” I snapped. His eyes widened at my words, “Alpha.”“Send them away, I'll call for them when I want to.” His head dropped as he bowed before he walked out of the room, leaving me in my despair.I eased back into the chair and rubbed my eyes. This had to be one of the hardest decisions I have ever had to make. Choosing between obeying the council and ruining the life of the healer. It was more painful because they were refusing to see my point. If she could heal the lands like they claimed, then sh

  • The Rejected Omega Who Was Always Meant To Be Queen   Deadlines Will Not Hold

LOGAN'S POV I stormed out of the healer's quarters, crushing the paper in my hands. The symbol of disrespect that had just been sent to me. A deadline. How dare they choose a date without my permission?Kieran followed me quietly, pushing the door open when we arrived at my fortress. I headed to my office.“This should be against the law!” I growled immediately as we stepped into my office. “This should not be possible!” Kieran's head dropped low. “Alpha, you need to calm down.” My body was shaking, not from fear but fury. I wanted to march down to their territory and chop off their fingers for daring to send such a message. My wolf prowled within me. Like a wounded animal in a cage. “I am an Alpha,” I snapped at Kieran. “I can make decisions myself.” He nodded quickly, “Yes Alpha.” “Is there no way to stop this?” His eyes held mine briefly. “In all honesty, I don't think you can do anything.”I balled my hands into fists to avoid punching him for being blunt about it. He sho

BIANCA'S POV.“The bleeding won't stop.” The young woman said frantically as her eyes dashed all around the healing tent.“Sit down and hold her.” I instructed her. This was the third burn this week and it was beginning to get me worried. She had said her daughter played with fire but it shouldn't bleed as much as it did.The girl's eyes were wide open as she stared at the blood, her lips trembling. I picked up a wet towel and cleaned the blood gently. The wound wasn't as bad as I imagined. I let out the breath I'd held since she stepped in with the child.“It stopped.” The mother cried, her eyes glistening with tears. I smiled at her and got to putting the bandage on the little girl. That was a relief. It would have been worse if she didn't come in on time. The bond pulsated beneath my skin like an uninvited guest. I closed my eyes and tried to push it down. There was a knock at the door before it could subside. I dropped the bandage carefully and walked to open the door. Alpha

LOGAN'S POV.Bang! Bang! Bang!Someone knocked on my door with so much pressure and urgency. My wolf let out a growl as I jumped out of bed, every nerve in me wide awake, I tightened my pants and opened the door, the day had barely begun, judging by the darkness that hung outside. Why was someone at my door this early?Kieran bowed as my face came into view, his eyes dropping to the ground immediately.“I bring news, Alpha.” Bad news, I could instantly tell. “What's wrong?” Kieran raised up his head gently. Only then did I notice the plaque in his left hand. The one the council sent each time there was a meeting. “The Council? Are they…..?” I spat, wishing he would say otherwise. Instead, he nodded, still unable to meet my eyes.“They called for a meeting,” his voice was hoarse and I hated how he avoided my eyes. It only meant trouble. “I thought they would wait but they insist it is of great importance and are already seated at the council room.My hand gripped the door hard as I

  • The Rejected Omega Who Was Always Meant To Be Queen   Assumption Spread Like Wild Fire

BIANCA'S POV I winced as the steam from the cauldron spread across my face, slightly stinging. “Oh, Moon goddess.” The scent of the last herb I prepared filled the room as I lifted the cover of the cauldron. A smile spread across my face. After a few days, I had finally prepared a herb to heal fever in children. All they needed was a small portion. “Did you hear?” A voice whispered outside. I dropped the cover quietly and listened. If there was one thing I had learnt since I arrived. It was the fact that nothing stayed a secret in this pack. The maids knew more than they should and most of the information I had been able to gather had been from their gossip.“What is that?” Another voice replied. The breeze blew the flap at the entrance of the door, revealing two young ladies in the maid's uniform. They had big bowls in their hands. “Word has it the Alpha's mark flickered in the garden.” I gasped as I covered my mouth. That had happened in the absence of the maids when I was a
