The morning sun barely pierced the windows of the tracking post where Jack stumbled through the door, leaning heavily on one of his men.

Every step sent a jolt of pain through his bruised ribs and torn shoulder, and his face was smeared with dirt, blood, and sweat.

Behind him, the other trackers followed, groaning quietly, limping, clearly beaten from the encounter in the forest the night before.

Jack dropped into a chair, collapsing with a thud.

“We… failed,” he admitted, his voice ragged.

The long corridors stretched endlessly, lit only by scattered lanterns that flickered against the stone walls. The silence was thick, broken only by distant footsteps, the occasional murmur of guards, and the quiet hum of a place that never truly slept.Mira’s arms were crossed tightly, her brows drawn together in worry as her gaze stayed fixed ahead of the hall but her thoughts were elsewhere, fixed on Max.“I don’t like this,” she muttered under her breath.Beside her, Jack glanced at her, his hands tucked casually into his pockets, though there was nothing casual about the way his eyes softened when he looked at her.“You’ve said that three times already,” he replied gently.Mira sighed, running a hand through her hair in frustration.“And I’ll say it again. I don’t like this" she said.Jack let out a quiet chuckle, though there was no mockery in it.“I figured.”They turned down another corridor, their footsteps echoing faintly in the stillness.Mira slowed slightly, her shoulders

Brian moved through the halls with purpose. His steps were sharp, impatient, echoing loudly against the marble floors as he strode down the long hallway. His jaw was clenched so tightly it ached, his fists curling and uncurling at his sides as if he were already preparing to strike someone.“This is a joke, a complete joke” he muttered under his breath, his voice low but venomous. His eyes burned with fury as he turned another corner, barely acknowledging the guards stationed along the walls. They stiffened as he passed, sensing the tension radiating from him, but none dared to speak.Brian didn’t care. His mind was on Eugene.“That man walks in here like he owns everything, like he didn’t destroy lives, like he didn’t tear everything in my life apart” Brian continued, his voice tightening. His breathing grew heavier.“I should have killed him when I had the chance.”His hands tightened in a fist.“I won’t let this go. I don’t care about this ‘truce’ and I don’t care about this due

Seraphina paced the length of the room like a caged predator, her heels striking the polished floor in sharp, relentless rhythms. Seraphina was burning and no room could contain that.“She touched me,” Seraphina muttered under her breath, her voice trembling with restrained fury. “She dared to touch me.”Ava stood near the edge of the room, leaning slightly against a carved pillar, her arms crossed, her gaze fixed on Seraphina with unwavering attention.“She did more than that. She tried to kill you" Ava said quietly. Seraphina stopped abruptly, her breathing uneven now.Seraphina turned slowly, her eyes blazing.“She pushed me down those stairs like I was nothing” she continued, her voice shaking with rage too deep to stay steady. Her chest rose sharply.“And my child…”Her voice cracked. The silence that followed was heavy.Ava stepped forward slightly. “She’ll pay for it.”Seraphina let out a hollow laugh.“Oh, she’ll do more than pay. I’m going to make her suffer”she said. Av

Eugene and Becca's footsteps echoed as they walked deeper into the mansion, guided by dim lighting and the distant presence of guards stationed at various points.Becca could feel their eyes on them. She leaned slightly closer to Eugene. “They don’t trust us.”“They don’t need to. They just need to stay out of my way” Eugene replied. There was no arrogance in his tone. They turned down another corridor, this one quieter, more secluded.“This should be far enough,” Eugene said.Becca glanced around. It was still grand, of course it was, but there was a noticeable difference here. It had less activity, fewer guards and more privacy.“A guest wing?” she asked.“Something like that.”He stopped in front of a large wooden door then without hesitation, he pushed it open. The room beyond was spacious. Before Becca could respond say anything, a knock sounded on the door.Eugene’s expression didn’t change.“Come in,” he said. The door opened immediately to reveal Desmond. He didn’t wait for p

Relief flickered across Becca’s face as she looked at him, her hands finding his arm as if grounding herself in his presence.“You did it, you stopped it” she said, her voice warm with quiet admiration. Eugene exhaled softly, some of the tension leaving his body at the sound of her voice.“For now,” he replied.Becca shook her head gently. “No, don’t downplay it. That could have turned into a massacre.”Her gaze hardened slightly as she glanced at the direction Skye and her father had left.“But you found a way,” she added. Eugene didn’t respond immediately because even as she said it he knew this wasn’t a solution. It was a gamble and the cost of losing would be everything.A scoff cut through the moment.“Oh, please.”Eugene’s expression hardened slightly as he turned toward look at Seraphina. She stood a few steps away, her arms crossed tightly over her chest, her eyes blazing with undisguised irritation.Becca frowned. “Excuse me?”Seraphina stepped forward, her heels hitting t

  • The Rejected Omega's Redemption    A Duel to Rule

Eugene stood at the center, his boots planted firmly against the cold earth of his territory. His gaze was sharp, calculating, as it swept across the opposing forces. “You’re outnumbered. I expected more resistance from the great Alpha Eugene” Skye’s father said calmly, his deep voice carrying across the open ground.A few of his men chuckled but Eugene didn’t react. Behind him, Max stepped forward with a scoff. “Don’t flatter yourself. You came with numbers because you’re afraid.”“Afraid? Of what? A broken pack barely holding itself together?” One of Skye’s father’s commanders laughed.Eugene turned his full attention back to the man in front of him.“You want this territory?” he asked.“Yes.”“You think you deserve it?”“I do.”Eugene nodded slowly.“Then prove it.”A murmur rippled through both sides.Skye’s father narrowed his eyes. “What are you suggesting?”Eugene didn’t hesitate.“A duel" he replied. There was immediate silence, even the wind seemed to pause.Seraphina’s
