Eugene stood at the edge of the woods overlooking Blackwood Mansion. His jaw was tight, his hands were clenched at his sides.

Max shifted beside him, his eyes scanning the perimeter for movement. Dorian crouched slightly lower, studying the patrol routes with the patience of someone who had done this too many times before.

From this distance, the mansion looked almost peaceful.

“It’s still a bad idea,” Max muttered quietly but Eugene didn’t look at him.

“We’ve already discussed this” he replied

Becca stared at Eugene, her anger barely contained."Have you completely lost your mind?" Eugene, who had just settled on the edge of the bed, raised his eyes towards her."Excuse me?""How could you send your guards to arrest Vincent without properly investigating what happened? You have absolutely no proof that he or Tyler orchestrated the attack!" She said. His expression hardened."Someone from their pack attempted to assassinate me. What more do you need?" He demanded."Evidence, Eugene! Actual evidence that they were involved!" She replied, her voice rising. He let out an irritated breath."So that's what this is about? You're worried about Tyler and his cousin?" He asked."I'm worried about what could happen if you continue making reckless decisions!" She corrected.Becca couldn't believe how stubborn he was being. She understood that he was angry after someone had attempted to take his life. She also understood that discovering the assassin's insignia had given him a reason

  • The Rejected Omega's Redemption    A Reason Not to Trust

Jack knocked gently on Mira's bedroom door and waited. He had spent several minutes trying to figure out what he would say to her, but even now, he wasn't entirely sure how to approach the conversation. He wanted to convince her to leave Blackwood Pack with him before Desmond's plan caused more trouble, but he knew it wouldn't be easy.Mira barely remembered him.As much as he wanted to believe she would agree to go with him, he couldn't ignore the possibility that she might refuse. After a few seconds, the door finally opened."Hello?"Jack looked at her and offered a small smile."Hi, Mira” he greeted politely. Her expression immediately changed when she realized who was standing outside."Oh. It's you” she said plainly. He frowned slightly."Is that a problem?" He asked."No. I just wasn't expecting you” she replied. Her response was noticeably cold, and Jack couldn't help noticing the way she stood at the doorway without making any effort to invite him inside."Can I come in?" he

  • The Rejected Omega's Redemption    An Unwelcome Threat

Tyler hadn't expected Eugene to move so quickly. One moment, he had been standing in front of the Alpha King, refusing to bow to his ridiculous demand. The next, Eugene had grabbed him and slammed him against the wall with enough force to leave him momentarily breathless. His back hurt, but what angered him most was the humiliation.Eugene had done that in front of Becca, Vincent, and everyone else, as though he wanted to demonstrate that nobody could challenge his authority.Tyler wasn't going to give him that satisfaction. He struggled against Eugene's grip, using his strength to push himself away from the wall. After several seconds, he finally managed to free himself and stumbled forward, straightening his clothes."Have you completely lost your mind?" he demanded, glaring at Eugene. The guards immediately became more alert, ready to intervene if either Alpha attacked again.Eugene's expression remained cold."Watch how you speak to me” he warned.Tyler let out an angry laugh."Yo

Ava walked through the mansion's hallway, her eyes moving from one door to another as she searched for Jack. She had already visited his room, but he wasn't there. After asking a few servants if they had seen him, she eventually decided to check the eastern wing. There was something important she needed to tell him, and she didn't want to waste any more time.Desmond's plan had officially begun. With everything that had happened recently, Ava knew the mansion would soon become a dangerous place. The tension between Eugene and Tyler's delegation was already threatening to spiral out of control, and the chaos surrounding the attempted assassination had only made matters worse. She also knew Jack was involved in something that could put his life at risk.Although he had agreed to cooperate with Seraphina and Desmond, Ava wasn't entirely certain how much he understood about what was coming. She wanted him to be careful, especially now that he had become involved in Eugene's affairs. As s

  • The Rejected Omega's Redemption    A Challenge to the Alpha King

Kaelyn knew this was the perfect opportunity to turn the situation in her favour. With Eugene already furious at Tyler and Vincent, she saw no reason to let the opportunity pass. If Becca could be made to look responsible for the tension in the mansion, perhaps Eugene would finally begin questioning her judgment. She stepped forward, wearing an expression of concern."Alpha King, I hope you won't allow them to get away with this," she said, directing her attention towards Eugene. "Becca brought Tyler and Vincent here even though she knew they had attempted to have you assassinated. I don't understand why she would put you in such danger."Becca immediately turned towards her."Kaelyn, what are you talking about?" She demanded.Kaelyn looked at her as though she had just said something ridiculous."Are you seriously going to pretend you don't know? An assassin from Tyler's pack attacked the Alpha King, and now you're standing here with the very people connected to that pack” she said.

The healer carefully examined the wound on Eugene's side while he struggled to contain his anger. He hated being confined to his room, especially when there were more pressing matters demanding his attention. The poison had weakened him temporarily, but that didn't mean he was helpless."Alpha King, you need to rest," the healer reminded him as she finished cleaning the wound. "The poison has been treated, and fortunately, it wasn't in your system long enough to cause serious damage. However, the wound still needs to be monitored. You must avoid unnecessary physical exertion."Eugene looked at her impatiently."Are you finished?"The healer hesitated before nodding."Yes, Alpha King. But please take my advice seriously," she pleaded. He dismissed her with a wave of his hand. Once she left, Max stepped closer, his expression unusually serious."Have you discovered anything else about the attacker?" Eugene asked.Max shook his head."Not yet. Our men are investigating his identity and
