Chapter 8 : Seduction And Silence 

A wave of dread washed over her as the triplets walked towards her. 

“Good morning, ma'am!” The triplets all greeted in unison, wondering why the woman had called them. 

“How can we help you?” Ella shrugged at the woman, her voice firm and steady. They had never been on Good terms with her son, so why had she called them? 

Gianna lost control of herself immediately, she couldn't breathe. She felt suffocated by the sight of the triplets. She was speechless. Their pointed noses, their eyes, everything_ it was the same as Landon, her husband. 

Gianna forced herself to regain composure, letting out a fake smile before facing them. 

“That's right!” She murmured with a smile, running her hand through Ella's hair. 

“Luke actually reported something to me

“ Their faces change immediately, shifting from their normal expression to one of disdain

“That we bullied him?” Evan questioned and Gianna nodded her head. 

“But I'm not here to scold any of you. I just want you people to set aside your issues with each other and be friends. I'm sure you'd have a good impact on Luke as his friend, considering how intelligent you guys are,” Gianna said teasingly, making them blush. 

Luke didn't like the idea of this. He didn't understand what his mother was doing or why she was behaving this way right now. 

“I'm sorry ,ma'am, but we can't make friends with a rude ,arrogant person like your son.” Ella blurted out. the boys burst into laughter, making Gianna regret bringing up the topic in the first place. 

She was disappointed at them. Indeed, they were exactly what Luke had described them to be. 

Conceited, rude and arrogant. They were mean children. It would have been understandable if they had been born with a silver spoon. She couldn't believe that a destitute commoner like them had the audacity to speak so ill of her son_ to her face. Indeed, they had no fear. They weren't afraid of anyone.

“And who would want to be friends with you commoners?” Luke retaliated at them. Angers surging through his tone. 

“Commoners?” Ella laughed hard. 

“Hmmm, I don't think so. My mother always tells us our father is rich, and once he comes back from travels, he will give us lots of money and take us on vacation to…..” Ella rasped in at him in annoyance but quickly stopped when she saw the boy's eyes signaling her to keep quiet. 

“That's enough,” Ethan whispered in her ears, tapping her hands. 

“I'm sorry!” She apologized, feeling Ashamed for letting her anger get the best of her. 

Gianna blinked at them continuously, stunned by their actions and how composed they were. 

“Tell me a lot about your father. Did your mother tell you he travelled?” Gianna questioned them politely, hoping to get some information out of them. 

“And why do you want to know about my father?” Ethan challenged, making Gianna's eyes flinched. 

“Alright!” She murmured,her tone laced with disappointment. 

“Please head to your class,” she rasped in at them and turned to Luke the moment they were gone. 

“You too!” 

Something left her body the moment the triplets disappeared. Her ego. It had been brought down by those triplets. If she had known she would be insulted,she wouldn't have called them out in the first place. She regretted her actions, but she was happy she had managed to get a strand of their hair. 

She needed it to run the DNA test..now, all she needed was a strand of Landon’s hair. and she'd be good to go. Once the result confirmed her suspicions, she would proceed with her plans and eliminate anything_ or anyone that might interfere. 

First, she needs to seduce Landon. Her husband. 

Even if it means having sex with him, to get a strand of his hair,she would do it.

Gianna waited for hours for Landon to return. She had been at home all day, watching movies. She wore a sexy bikini, knowing it might stir lust in him the moment he saw her. 

Hours passed, minutes, seconds and finally….

She heard the honk of his car, sending waves of nervousness through her

She really needs to do this. It had been a long time since she tried seducing him. The last time she did, he rejected her. He hadn't been aroused, no matter what she did. 

But this time around, she had to try harder. Even if he doesn't sleep with her, that was fine. She just needs to put him in the mood. Distract him, and plunk a strand of his hair. That was all.  

Gianna quickly turned on the television, switched to a music channel and started dancing like a stripper. 

Her moves became more intense when she heard of the door open, and then, there he was. 

Her husband. 

She twerked and swayed like a woman in a nightclub. Seductively moving her lips. 

Gianna increased her pace when she caught a glimpse of him watching.She could tell his eyes on her, and she was certain they were focused on her exposed curves. 

“Ohh!” She gasped and quickly danced to him. 

“Forgive me! I didn't notice when you came in.” She apologised. 

“Welcome back, my love.”

 Landon rolled his eyes at her words, he couldn't even remember the last time she had called him that. 

“ I miss you so much.”

Gianna pressed her body against his, making sure he could feel her soft curves. She gently touched his face, her fingers slowly trailing up to his hair. 

and then, she plunk it, a little too hard, making him wince. 

“I'm sorry.” 

She murmured innocently. 

She had successfully gotten a strand of his hair, now, he could push her away if he wanted, just like he always did. 

“What are you doing?” He finally asked, his Face serious. 

“What am I doing?” Gianna repeated, her tone low and filled with disappointed 

“I am your wife! The mother of your son!!” she snapped. 

Gianna wanted to scream at him, but she knew she couldn't. Not to someone like Landon, who was so strict. 

“Are you really sure about that?” Gianna startled at the tone of his words, fear crept up her spine. 

What did he mean by that? She suddenly felt restless, realising how Foolish She had been to put on a show like this. She should have known Landon would never fall for it. 

“ We've been living together for the past twelve years, and I can't even remember the last time you touched me after we had Luke,” Gianna stuttered, her eyes flowing with uncontrollable tears. She couldn't hold it back. 

“Because I never found you attractive to begin with. I only did what was necessary to get what we wanted.”

Gianna's breath caught in her throat. The words hit her like a blow to the chest.  

She felt like the weight of the world was crushing her. 

With a broken heart, she finally asks the question that had been haunting her. . 

“ If you don't find me attractive, then, what kind of woman do you like?” her voice trembled, her teary eyes filled with desperation. 

If he wanted someone thinner, she would starve herself. If he preferred someone curvier, she would gain weight. whatever he wanted, she would become. 

She was desperate to be what he desired. She just wanted to be enough for him, to be the one he chose. 

She wanted to keep him. 

She wanted him all to herself. 

“Avery!” 

Landon's voice was firm. 

“I like her type of woman. From the few minutes I met her, I felt a connection. I like her. I feel like we wronged her by breaking the contract we made twelve years ago.”

Gianna collapses onto the sofa. 

her body failed her. 

She was losing her strength. Losing everything. 

“If I ever see her again, I'd like to apologise to her… and maybe, perhaps, take in those disabled kids you claimed she had birthed.” 

No! 

Gianna knew that could never happen.

 She would never leave London to meet Avery. Perhaps… This was a mistake from the start.
