Chapter Fifteen

Savage

Tossing and turning, I groan as I glance at the clock and realize that it is only five am. With a heavy sigh, I toss the blanket off me and head for the shower because there is no point in trying to sleep now.

The steam from the hot water fills the bathroom as I stand under the shower, trying to shake off the events of the previous night. The burning sensation on my face has faded, but the memory of the mysterious figure's chilling warning lingers in my mind.

As I step out of the shower and wrap myself in a towel, I hear a knock on the bathroom door.

“Savage, it's me,” Auntie Skyler's voice calls out. “Can I come in?”

I quickly unlock the door, and Auntie Skyler enters, her expression drawn with concern. She hands me a small jar of ointment. “This should help with the burn,” she says softly.

I nod gratefully, applying the ointment to my face as Auntie Skyler watched over me, her eyes filled with worry.

“Thank you for taking care of me,” I whisper, touched by her kindness.
