Chapter Fifty-Seven

Blake

Dropping to the ground as I feel my bond with Savage break. I yell and pound the ground in pain and anger. “Why did she have to leave us?”

In the midst of my anguish, a sudden hush falls over the clearing, as if nature itself holds its breath in reverence for the profound loss that has befallen them. The air grows heavy with sorrow, and the leaves of the surrounding trees seem to droop in mourning alongside me.

As I kneel here, tears streaming down my face, a soft rustling catches my attention. Turning my head, I see a figure standing at the edge of the clearing, bathed in a gentle ethereal light. It is a figure I thought I would never see again, a figure that fills my heart with both longing and hope.

“Savage…” I whisper, my voice barely more than a breath, as I gaze at her in wonder. She stands before him, her eyes filled with love and understanding, a faint smile playing on her lips.
