Plotting:
Xyler wanted to shift. Aldric fought against him. He felt it too. He wanted to run back into that office and demanded that Rhett confess what he was feeling. The mate bond was tugging and pulling at him; it felt like he was going to be torn apart. Aldric walked further away from the pack house putting distance between them. He didn't know how long he could do this. Reaching the housing area where his pack was, Xyler settled down seeing the people he was fighting for. Outside the home several small children were running around playing. A small golden-haired girl spotted him and ran towards him. Aldric smiled seeing her. He kneeled down and the little girl crashed into him laughing.
“Alpha! Where have you’ve been? Your missing hide and seek!” She giggled.
“Kristy! How many times must I tell you not to bother the Alpha!” Kristy’s mother said coming towards them.
“Now you're gonna get us both in trouble.” Aldric laughing and poking Kristy.
“Alpha, I am so sorry. We mean no disrespect. Kristy she’s a little strong willed.” Kristy's mother said, bowing her head.
“Strong willed and Wild!” Aldric laughed, tickling her.
“Ahhhh!” Kristy yelled, laughing.
He stopped tickling her, patted her on the head and passed her to her mother. Kristy's mother bowed her head apologizing again.
“Strong will isn’t a bad thing. Don’t discourage her. Her will is what will make her chase her dreams and be something big someday.” Aldric said to Kristy's mother.
“Alpha, you are too kind.” Kristy's mother nodded and scooted Kristy along.
“That little girl is sure going to be something one day.” Waverly said, coming up behind Aldric.
“She reminds me of you.” Aldric smirked.
“Hush don’t curse the poor little creature.” Waverly laughed.
“It wouldn't be a curse. Your family is very proud of you.” Aldric said to her standing up.
“Mhmmm. So what now?” Waverly asked quietly.
“Well I figured I get a team together who would want to help in the fields and then head over to the training grounds. We only have two hours till then.” Aldric shrugged.
“That’s not what I meant.” Waverly sighed.
“Well it is what I mean. You can follow and keep whatever thoughts you have to yourself or you can keep yourself company.” Aldric said shortly.
“Fine.’ Waverly grumbled.
Attention all pack members, I need all members who have knowledge of farming and crops to report to get with me. We have assignments and are going to help out while we stay. I would like whoever knows this information to come see me. Aldric sent out to his pack members still ignoring Waverly.
Mason adjusted the binoculars he was looking through. The human world was affected by disease and famine as well but not compared to the werewolf world. All the humans had to do was up their security around medical facilities. There had been so many raids to get medicine. Little did they it was most wolves trying to get medical supplies. Wolves were hit pretty badly by the virus. The lack of medical supplies and how they respond healing wise made it impossible for them to seek help without exposing themselves.
Four guards in front. Mason linked samuel.
Four in the back. Samuel responded.
Do we have uniforms? Laura’s voice came through.
Right now they were just scouting everything out. Trying to figure out shift changes. It would be the best time to slip in. Four guards seems to be the most they have at one time at post.
We have uniforms and badges. Samuel replied to her.
Cameras posted at the gate and another along the sides. Mason sent to them.
Same as the back Samuel responded.
So what’s the plab? Laura asked.
Best bet would be to wait for shift change and move it. The later the shift changes, the more relaxed it should be. We just need to figure out when the last change happens. Mason said to them.
Works for me the quicker we get this over with, the quicker we can head home. Samuel grumbled through mindlink.
Beta Micah we have found where Aldric went. A voice buzzed in Micah’s head.
Hearing it he smiled, he needed to give his Alpha some type of news. He was becoming relentless. Micah glanced at him as he watched Calvin start another round of pacing. He understood his anger and resentment but the path he was chiseling into the forest floor isn't helping anyone.
Go ahead. Micah responded back.
Aldric has gone and sought refuge with the Dark Moon pack. The scouts voice answered.
“Uh.” Micah said out loud in surprise, answering the scout.
Why would he go there? Rhett was not known for accepting outsiders. He was a bit shocked that he was even there and Rhett did not outcast them. That’s where the resentment came from. Each rogue had their own story most similar in the fact that when the world got bad and packs started falling apart no one stepped up to help. Most turned a blind out and only watched out for their own pack. Now there was a group of angry rogue’s on a path of revenge.
“Uh?” Calvin responded by locking eyes with Micah.
“Aldric’s pack as sought refuge with Dark Moon.” Micah said to him and braced for the response.
“Rhett took in Aldric!” Calvin yelled.
Micah stood in silence. He wasn't going to risk answering or responding to the question. Calvin was known for his temper.
“So it's only certain people good enough to get help. What’s so special about Aldric and his pack that they would even let him in.” Calvin growled.
An image flashed in his mind. It was raining, He could still feel the rain stinging his skin as he carried her in his arms. Her soft brown hair flowing over his arm as he cradled her to his chest. He remembered the panic that set in when she caught the virus. He went to them begging and pleading on his knees. They turned him away. If he could have just gotten her medicine. Could have gotten the smallest amount of help. His daughter may have lived. Rhett didn't even come to the gates, didn't even have the courage to tell him no in person. His daughter died in his arms that night.
He didn't realize it but his claws had extended and were digging into the palm of his hands. A warm river of blood began pouring from the puncture wounds. Aldric’s pack tried to help but they were worthless. They couldn't save his daughter. He left their pathetic pack and sorted out Rhett’s but he was too late. Rhett was too dismissive. He would pay.
“Alpha at least both targets are now in the same spot.” Micah said, hoping the comment may calm his Alpha down.
“Same spot.” Calvin yelled.
“Yes Alpha.” Micah said calmly.
“Same spot.” Calvin repeated the words settling in and making sense.
“This might work better for us. I have ideas.” Calvin chuckled.
“We could turn one Alpha against the other and watch them fight each other. Then when they're broken down and vulnerable, ruin them both completely.” Calvin laughed more.
“Micah have scouts check out Rhett’s borders. I know he has taken every precaution but we need to find a weak spot.” Calvin said his wheels were turning in his head.
“Yes Alpha.” Micah said, bowing his head.
“Once we have that information we should start small random attacks to stir things up.” Calvin said, still thinking out loud.
“Yes Alpha.” Micah said as he mindlinked the scouts as he listened to Calvin.
“Also, I want to set it up, like it has something to do with Aldric’s pack. Find something from their land so the first attack we can leave something behind linking the attack to Aldric.” Calvin chuckled at his plan slowly forming.
I need a few members to head to Aldric pack’s land and find little trinkets or something related to his pack for Alpha Calvin. I need about four of you to go scout Rhett’s border and report back any weak points. Move out. Micah sent to his scouts.
“It’s done Alpha.” Micah said quietly.
“Perfect.” Calvin said, looking at the slow healing punctures in his palms.
“Anything else your needing Alpha?” Micah asked.
“Now we wait.” Calvin said watching one of the punctures close.
“Once we have something to link Aldric to the rogue attacks we will begin. Rhett is so distrusting that the slightest thing that goes wrong and the smallest thing linking Aldric to possible rogue attack. Rhett will blame Aldric and the chaos will begin.” Calvin laughed.
“It sounds like the perfect plan, Alpha.” Micah smiled at him.
“It is we will let them destroy themselves and then finish them. Two Alpha’s in the same area for too long will always be a power struggle. Even if one is attempting to be respectful. The power struggle will come out at some point or another. This will also play into our advantage.” Calvin laughed.
Training;Waverly followed Aldric out onto the field. Luke was waiting for them, greeting Waverly with a smile as she approached him. Aldric caught it and smiled to himself. He still had hoped that Waverly might have a happy ending after it all. There were several soldiers lined up and waiting. Others were already sparring or training. Aldric looked over the men and he could see they all physically looked the part. He began sizing them up to see if they were actually as lethal as they should be. Aldric noted that there were no women present.“Where are your women?” Aldric asked and felt Waverly’s presence; he knew she was thinking the same. “We have enough warriors that we only train the few that need to be.” Luke said with a shrug.“A word of advice from experience. Every member of your pack should know how to fight. Right down to your children: The world we live in right now. No one is safe and you will never know what the end result will be.” Aldric said not looking at Luke as he
Hospital: Mate. The word hit Rhett like a mac truck. Did he say it to him? Was he hallucinating? It had to be the lack of oxygen. There was no way he was talking to him. Maybe he was thinking about someone. Rhett tried to justify what just fell out of Aldric's mouth as he rushed to the car. He began panicking as Aldric lost consciousness. He needed to get to the hospital now. Did you want it to be about us? Hendrix asked. No, what are you saying? Rhett answered back as he got Aldric in the car. Listen, I can't handle your commentary right now. Rhett growled at Hendrix. Waverley was following behind and pulled open the passenger side door for Rhett. Rhett placed Aldric in the car and rushed over to the driver's side. It didn't take him long to jump in and speed off. He barely left enough time for Waverly to slide into the back seat. Waverly leaned the passenger seat back so she could keep an eye on Aldric. Rhett had sweat beaded across his forehead. He glanced over at Aldric
Stable:“Alpha.” A soft voice called him before he walked outside the door.He looked over and saw Hannah. Hannah had been a nurse at the hospital for years. She was old enough to be Rhett’s mother and he often thought of her that way. Rhett paused as she motioned for him to come over.“Let me have a look at you.” Hannah said to him.Rhett made a face but followed her into an exam room anyways. She patted the exam bed motiong for him to sit up there. Rhett sighed, plopping up onto the bed. She gathered some supplies from the cabinets.“You look like you came out of a horror movie. All the blood yours or someone else?” Hannah said coming to him.Rhett hadn't even thought about it, he looked down over the front of him and his whole chest was stained red. He could now feel the stickiness on his face.“Both. He broke my nose.” Rhett shrugged. “I can see that.” Hannah reached out and carefully planted his nose.“Your body is already trying to heal it but it's not set. You can either live
White Wolf:Rhett pulled up to where they were housing Aldric’s pack, he let out a long sigh stepping out of the car. He wasn't sure what to expect. He had felt anger from Waverly and he wondered if the rest of his pack would be angry as well. Luke seemed to be already talking to them and prepping them as he approached. Luke was letting them know that he would be there shortly to give them all an update. Rhett walked up behind Luke placing a hand on his shoulder to let him know he was there.“Is this everyone?” Rhett asked out loud, more directed to the pack then Luke.“Yes Alpha.” Luke responded. His eyes looked over the pack. It was all women, children, and eldery. No wonder they couldn't have survived another attack. All the men were gone. He felt so surprised by that. He was caught up in his thoughts as he looked over the pack. He felt bad for them.“Alpha Rhett, you came to tell us about our Alpha?” One of the elderly women asked.“Yes, during a train exercise Alpha Aldric was hu
Listen:Rhett headed back to the hospital, his stomach turning in knots as he got closer and closer. He didn't know if it was the anticipation or if he was excited. Finding one's mate was a big deal. Part of him didn't know if he was ready for that. He parked his car in the parking lot and gripped on to the steering wheel. He took a deep breath before he shut off the vehicle. He looked at the hospital building and the urge to run crept up on him. He had never run away from anything no matter the danger. This was new to him. He forced himself to walk into the hospital .The nurses looked up but didn't bother him. He remembered the instructions the nurse had said previously to him as he followed them. He turned down a hall and then walked into the critical care unit. He felt the guilt in the pit of his stomach as he walked into the unit. A nurse looked up from the nursing station and nodded to him, pointing him the way to Aldric’s room. He nodded his thanks back and walked to the room.
Trap:Mason slammed the gas pedal into the floor of the car. His grip tightened on the steering wheel as his eyes narrowed in on the gate. They were so close. He glanced in the rearview mirror trying to get a glimpse of Samuel. As he was looking in the back he was suddenly blinded by lights. Mason's head hit the side of the driver’s window. The airbag smashing him in the face. He heard Laura let out a yell as he tried to figure out what was happening. Mason ping pong off the driver side door as the car slammed into a tree. Headlights from another vehicle peered into the car blinding them. Mason felt warm liquid running down the side of his face. His wolf pushed forward trying to help clear the cloudiness of the situation. Mason’s claws descended and he popped the air bag. The ring in his ears was making it hard to focus.“Laura.” He choked out as the smoke from the air bag filled his lungs.“Mason.” she said from the back seat.Mason tried to open his door but he couldn't. He realized
Ambush:“I don't think he has much longer.” Laura shouted to Mason in the front seat. The side was crushed in and he could barely move in the front seat. He pushed the seat back trying to give himself room. The only way he could think of getting out was through the windshield. He leaned the seat back, placing his feet against the windshield. He pulled on his wolf for strength. He drew his knees up to his chest and then slammed up into the windshield. It didn't budge. His eyes glowed as he drew more strength. He repeated it again, this time a crack surfaced. He shut his eyes and drew back. He let out a loud growl as he slammed into the windshield again. The glass crystalized across the windshield. He sat forward getting up and kneeling on the seat to get closer to the windshield. He pressed into pushing the glass forwarded. The glass fell forward onto the hood of the SUV breaking into pieces. A rush of excitement went through him as he pulled himself through the windshield. The glass
Lure: Waverly walked into the clearing, her guard but you wouldn't notice by the way she walked. Getting into the clearing, she saw a strawberry blond hair woman laying in the center. Waverly walked over to her kneeling. Still keeping and eye on her surroundings she check her vitals. She was breathing good and her pulse was strong. She was just unconscious. She was surprised no one had come out yet. She bent down like she was going to pick up Laura when she heard a branch snap. It came from her left, it sounded as if someone was inching close and stepped on it. She ignored acting like she didnt hear it. She picked Laura’s arm going to loop it over her shoulder, when a tall man came out of the clearing. “A woman….well I was hoping to lure an actual team of men to be here but now I'll just have two damsels.” He said quietly walking to Waverly. “Just let me take my friend and go.” Waverly said quietly. “Go…Go! You're not going anywhere.” He laughed, shaking his head. “You might as
