New chapters are still on the way. Please be patient with me. Life has not been kind at all. There will be a couple chapters uploaded but as of yet nothing else new. I do apologize for the hiatus. It's been extremely hard to write with the sudden loss I've had to experience. You will get to see how the story of Akaisha comes about. i apoligize one more for the hiatus. The moment they were outside, Akaisha felt the cool breeze hit her warm skin. Annoyance exuded from her. “Why did you talk to him so friendly like? And what insignificant matter did he mean? Was he talking about the issue with me?” She huffed. It wasn’t her business, but she had to know. Acheki wanted to stop her before she could work herself up into a frenzy. Somehow, in the short time frame, he figured out the way she operated. He placed his hands on her shoulders. Heat radiated off her skin. It was scorching to his touch. The desire to cup her face became stronger. He ignored it. “Listen, there’s a lot we should discuss while we walk. Plus, I still owe you a meal.” “I don’t want anything to eat. I’m not hungry anymore.” Her stomach growled low and long. She ignored it and pressed on. “What I want from you is to know what are you doing helping him? You know he’s a horrible man. And for him to say that Dave is his adopted son?! I have never seen that damn man with him before. Never!

Akaisha and Jalefel spent more time with each other than they thought they would. Despite the burgers being nothing to rave about. They stayed there at the diner. She leaned forward against the table. “So tell me about your department? You’re with the special task force, right? After Dave showed her a fraction of his altered appearance. Akaisha couldn’t believe that he was a failed experiment. It made sense if she remembered everything taught to her about lycanthropes. Their metabolism is impossibly fast. They formulated a special-grade medication for them because of the way their body metabolizes anesthesia. If I had worked within Dave, he would have been extremely powerful. Not as powerful as an alpha would be, but pretty close. It also made sense why he seemed to run hotter than other people. She looked around to see her new coworkers scanning their work. Handheld computers were a thing of the past. Holographic screens and the mind took their place. With her empty desk, there was nothing for her to do but settle in. Being a former assistant, Akaisha didn’t have much to bring down with her. Someone came up to her as she stood near the desk. It was an elf. Compared to Acheki, they were smaller and thicker. The Elven race had their differences, just as humans did. The man spoke to her. “Ms. Akaisha?”“That’s me.
