Sorry for the long wait. As of right now this book is on a hiatus until the end of the year. Please bare in mind I'm not only a writer, I'm also a mother, a wife, and a caregiver for several people. I can only work on one book at a time. I will update this novel as soon as I possibly can. Thank you for those that are reading this story and waiting patiently for its continuation. In the mean time please check out my other novel The CEO's Amusement. That is the current novel I am working on for the Ceo and I contest.
New chapters are still on the way. Please be patient with me. Life has not been kind at all. There will be a couple chapters uploaded but as of yet nothing else new. I do apologize for the hiatus. It's been extremely hard to write with the sudden loss I've had to experience. You will get to see how the story of Akaisha comes about. i apoligize one more for the hiatus. If you have any questions or comments please check my bio for information on how to leave them and i will do my best to answer them unless it reveals a spoiler. thank you again.
“She’s never known love. Family love. What about friendship? That’s a form of love. How sad her life has been. No wonder she hasn’t scorched the earth yet.” Just by the thoughts running through his head, Akaisha could hear what he was thinking. It was almost an invasion of privacy. He already knew so much about her. She should shut those pesky thoughts down. Why shouldn’t she stop any potential romantic entanglements with him? Yet, she didn’t say a word. Not a one. Not even an acknowledgement. She could hear his thoughts. Jalefel could potentially become upset with her by the invasion. Sergeant Acheki watched her as she watched through him. The look in her eyes were filled with something, longing. He was sure that something was going through her mind. The full pout of her lips, kissed with bright pink lipstick, was perfect. The dip in her brow as she concentrated. Her eyelashes, long and thick, cascaded over those beautiful violet eyes. How could he ever look at her and not see she wa
The moment they were outside, Akaisha felt the cool breeze hit her warm skin. Annoyance exuded from her. “Why did you talk to him so friendly like? And what insignificant matter did he mean? Was he talking about the issue with me?” She huffed. It wasn’t her business, but she had to know. Acheki wanted to stop her before she could work herself up into a frenzy. Somehow, in the short time frame, he figured out the way she operated. He placed his hands on her shoulders. Heat radiated off her skin. It was scorching to his touch. The desire to cup her face became stronger. He ignored it. “Listen, there’s a lot we should discuss while we walk. Plus, I still owe you a meal.” “I don’t want anything to eat. I’m not hungry anymore.” Her stomach growled low and long. She ignored it and pressed on. “What I want from you is to know what are you doing helping him? You know he’s a horrible man. And for him to say that Dave is his adopted son?! I have never seen that damn man with him before. Never!
Akaisha and Jalefel spent more time with each other than they thought they would. Despite the burgers being nothing to rave about. They stayed there at the diner. She leaned forward against the table. “So tell me about your department? You’re with the special task force, right? That’s for the humans that aren’t quite humans, right?”He took her plate and placed it atop of his, setting it out of the way. “Yes, and no. We monitor and capture humans that display abnormal abilities. We arrest the ones that intend to do harm with those abilities.”“That doesn’t sound very good. Is that all you do?”“No. We also are in charge of all disputes and crimes that involve meta humans.”She nodded her head. They seemed to do a lot of work compared to the other departments. “So, those assholes I took down a few notches they were arrested?”“Yeah, and you should be in our headquarters being questioned. Sadly, there seems to be an arsenic crime attached to your name right now. I should be arresting yo
She wrapped her arm around his and walked towards a deserted street. A step more and then she teleported them to the hospital. “That would’ve taken too long.” She let go of him slowly. Wondering if he had his balance. “are you good? Does your stomach hurt? Feel nauseous? Headache?”He allowed himself to gather his senses. Acheki patted his body down and touch his ears. Physically, everything was there. His stomach didn’t bother him. “I’m good. Don’t do that again without my expressed consent.”“Got it, but we should hurry.”The two of them rushed to Mahima's room. Nurses and machines passed the room. No one was around. She got to the door. Nothing was out of the ordinary. When she opened the door, Mahima slept soundly. The machine beeped steadily. Akaisha touched Mahima’s hand. It twitched in her sleep. “Mahima?”The woman groaned in her sleep. Acheki looked around t
The night ended without any other incidents. Acheki got in his car. Akaisha watched as he put it in gear. “Will you be fine?”“Yeah, of course. I can pop home without any problems.”“Still be careful.”She waved him off. “You’re the one that needs to be careful.”“I’m the law. I’ll be fine.”“You know, they say a hard head makes for a soft ass, right?”He chuckled. “Yeah, I heard. But I have my weapon with me. And I’m not the hard-headed one, Ms. Morningstar.”She shrugged her shoulders. “Just go home. The sooner you leave, the faster I can go.”He waved his hand, pulling out of the parking lot. When he turned left, she teleported to her new home. Blue and Misty greeted her. “Are you going to get my bed? It be really nice to sleep on my soft bed.”Akaisha shook her head, not in disp
After Dave showed her a fraction of his altered appearance. Akaisha couldn’t believe that he was a failed experiment. It made sense if she remembered everything taught to her about lycanthropes. Their metabolism is impossibly fast. They formulated a special-grade medication for them because of the way their body metabolizes anesthesia. If I had worked within Dave, he would have been extremely powerful. Not as powerful as an alpha would be, but pretty close. It also made sense why he seemed to run hotter than other people. It was a lot to tell her. It was even risky to ask her for help. The thought came to mind that it was a ploy. Dave could be attempting to lure her into a trap. She hoped that wasn’t the case, but anyone tied to the professor could very well be just as bad as him. Which was evident by his junior. The one she had never met but knew about. He seemed to be a successful experiment, too. She looked around the disorganized room. It smelled of stale air. Mahima’s dressing ro
There was no guarantee that Amethyst could take care of herself. The world may not have been on the brink of disaster, but everyone needs to know how to defend themselves. Akaisha cradled the envelope to her chest once she took it. amethyst smiled at her. “Should we head down now?”“Oh, I don’t have to organize Mahima’s dressing room?”“You could, but it would be better for you to get to know Mitchum first. She can give you directions to where to meet the professor.”She didn’t want to go there to meet the professor, but she did want to meet her new boss. “Sure. That’s fine with me. But who will tell Mahima that she’s getting a new assistant? Hell, who is her new assistant will be?”Amethyst shrugged her shoulders. “Not sure. They are waiting for her to come back to hire a new assistant. And I haven’t heard of any of them getting in touch with her yet. A doctor called when they said she would be staying longer.”Her eyebrows raised. “What did the doctor say?”She shrugged. “That Mahim
