The night before the Champion Trial, Midnight Pack was alive with anticipation.

Warriors sharpened their blades until sparks danced through the air.

The armor was polished. Strategies were debated. Across the fortress, excitement and confidence echoed from every corridor.

Tomorrow, Midnight will defend its honor.

But far from the cheers...

Hidden behind ancient stone walls and a curtain of climbing ivy lay a forgotten garden, known only to a handful of trusted souls.

Here, Commander Megan was not the undefeated champion.

He was simply a man.

Moonlight spilled across the flowers as Viera waited , her hands rested protectively over the small life growing inside her.

She heard footsteps.

She didn't need to turn.

She would know those footsteps anywhere.

"Megan..."

He stopped only long enough to look at her.

For a heartbeat, the weight of command disappeared from his shoulders.

He crossed the distance between them and gently took her hands in his.

"You waited for me."

"I always will."

Her words were barely louder than the breeze.

Megan smiled, a smile reserved for only one person in the entire pack.

He lowered his hand to her stomach, his touch unbelievably gentle for a man feared across the realm.

"Our little wolf..."

His voice carried wonder instead of authority.

"I still cannot believe you're real."

Viera watched him silently.

This warrior who could break another man with his bare hands now looked almost afraid to press too firmly against her.

She covered his hand with hers.

"He already knows your voice."

Megan chuckled.

"Then he already knows how stubborn his father is."

She laughed softly.

"And how impossible he is."

Their laughter faded into a peaceful silence.

One they wished could last forever.

But reality never waited long.

Viera's smile slowly disappeared.

"Megan..."

He looked up immediately.

"What is it?"

She searched his face.

"I heard about tomorrow."

"The Champion Trial?"

She nodded.

"I know you'll win."

His eyebrow lifted.

"That isn't what worries you."

Tears slowly gathered in her eyes.

"No."

She took a slow breath.

"I've watched Alpha Darius before."

She looked toward the distant palace.

"He smiles too easily."

"He compliments too often."

"And when he speaks..."

"...it feels like he's already three moves ahead."

Megan's expression became thoughtful.

"I've noticed."

She stepped closer.

"This challenge isn't about honor."

"It's about you."

He remained silent.

She continued.

"I don't know why..."

"But every instinct inside me tells me that man is searching for something."

Her fingers tightened around his hand.

"And I fear..."

"...he'll find it."

Megan gently brushed a strand of silver hair away from her face.

"Then let him search."

His eyes held hers.

"He will never find anything more precious than what stands before me."

A tear escaped her eye.

"Megan..."

He caught it with his thumb before it could fall.

"I've faced monsters."

"I've fought rogue Alphas."

"I've bled for Midnight more times than I can count."

He smiled softly.

"But nothing has ever frightened me..."

"...the way losing you does."

Viera's heart ached.

"You shouldn't say things like that."

"Why?"

"Because I'll start believing them."

He stepped closer until only a breath separated them.

"I want you to believe every word."

She looked away.

"What future do we have?"

The question lingered between them.

"You've already been promised to Alora."

"The entire kingdom expects it."

"The alliance..."

"The future..."

"Your duty..."

Each word became heavier than the last.

Finally she whispered,

"And me?"

Megan closed his eyes briefly.

When he opened them again, there was no commander standing before her.

Only a man hopelessly in love.

"I never chose that future."

His voice was steady.

"It was chosen for me."

He reached for both of her hands.

"But you..."

A faint smile touched his lips.

"You are the first choice I ever made for myself."

Fresh tears rolled down her cheeks.

"I don't want to be your secret forever." She said.

His heart tightened.

"Neither do I."

Silence settled between them.

Then he took a deep breath.

"If the only way to keep you safe..."

"...is to let the world believe another woman holds my heart..."

"...then I will carry that burden."

He looked directly into her eyes.

"But hear me, Viera."

"There may come a day when the Moon Goddess herself stands before me..."

"...and tells me to choose between my title..."

"...and you."

His voice became almost a whisper.

"I would still walk toward you."

Her breath caught.

"Megan..."

He rested his forehead against hers.

"I cannot promise you a title."

"But I can promise this."

"My heart has already chosen……."

"And it chose you…… Viera , be my hidden mistress."

The words shattered every wall she had built.

She broke into tears and wrapped her arms around him.

He held her tightly, as though trying to protect her from the entire world.

After several long moments, she looked up through tear-filled eyes.

"If I cannot stand beside you as your mate..."

"...then let me remain beside you however fate allows."

She managed a fragile smile.

"I would rather live hidden in your heart..."

"...than openly in another man's."

Megan lifted her chin gently.

"You are not my shame."

"You are my greatest strength."

Their lips met in a slow, lingering kiss beneath the moonlight.

Viera stripped away every defense, exposing herself completely to him.

He pinned her down, his hands gripping her breasts as his mouth locked onto her skin.

The raw heat of it wrecked her, an undone gasp ripping from her throat.

He threw aside his heavy leather armor and warrior badges, stripped bare for the only woman who mattered.

He crowded over her and she opened her legs wide.

He drove straight inside her, his cock burying deep, pounding in and out with a fierce, relentless friction.

The crushing pleasure hit like a physical blow.

Viera arched off the bed, her nails tearing into his back as she screamed his name into the dark.

“Megannn…”

They made love in a brutal, breathless rhythm, tearing through the night until the morning light broke.

The next day, the Champion Ring stood beneath the open sky.

Thousands gathered.

The banners of Midnight and Redclaw moved with the wind.

The Silver Night Pack watched silently, because everyone knew.

This was more than a battle.

It was a statement.

The doors opened.

Commander Rogan Sable entered first.

The Redclaw warriors roared his name.

Then…

Commander Megan stepped into the ring.

The entire field erupted.

“MEGAN!”

“THE MIDNIGHT BLADE!”

The sound shook the ground.

Rogan smiled.

“So the stories were true.”

 Megan responded.

“Stories are not what you should fear.”

The horn sounded.

The battle began.

Rogan attacked with overwhelming force.

His movements were aggressive and powerful.

Every strike carried the strength of a warrior trained for destruction.

The crowd cheered.

But Megan did not move like a man trying to overpower him.

He moved like someone who had already studied the fight.

One step…… One block…. One counter.

Perfect timing.

Alpha Darius watched from his seat.

His eyes followed every movement.

The opening…. The weakness……The pattern.

But something was wrong.

Megan wasn't changing into his wolf form yet.

Every time Rogan adapted…

Megan changed too.

A new technique.

A different rhythm.

A different strategy.

Darius’s expression slowly hardened.

Impossible.

A warrior could master different styles.

But no warrior should be able to shift between them so naturally.

Rogan attacked again.

Harder….. faster.

But Megan disappeared from his path and struck with precision.

The entire arena went silent.

Rogan shifted into his wolf form, while Megan remained in his human form.

As the battle grew more intense,

Rogan suddenly dropped to one knee,

the pain overwhelmed him until he was forced to revert back to his human form.

The final strike had already been decided.

Megan stood over him.

Not with pride.

Not with cruelty….. with respect.

The horn sounded.

“Winner…”

The announcer paused.

“Commander Megan of the Midnight Pack.”

The warriors of Midnight erupted.

But Alpha Darius did not celebrate.

He stared at Megan, because he had discovered something far more dangerous than a weakness.

Megan was n

ot powerful because of Midnight’s Alpha blood.

He was powerful because he was Megan.

And if that was true…

Then breaking him would require something far greater than a battle.

It would require finding the one thing he would sacrifice everything for.

Darius’s eyes darkened.

“Everyone has a weakness.”

A slow smile formed.

“Even legends.”

And somewhere in the distance…

Viera suddenly felt a cold fear she could not explain.
