MasukXandros’ Pov
Four years, for four years have I left the city to study overseas. Apparently, being the heir had more problems to the title and for four years have I not set eyes on her.
She was little and timid when I left, too young to know the impact of what was happening, too cute and innocent to realize that me gently patting her on the head wasn't because I was bullying her neither was it to spite my twin sister.
It was the only chance I could get to sniff in her scent and hold on to that remembrance of her and every painful day is a reminder that she needs to be protected, so when I had to chance to return, I went against my father's wishes of being homeschooled and enrolled in the same school as her.
It was barely a week yet I was engrossed in the beautiful woman she has grown to be.
“What the hell did you do to her Xandros? Did you break her? She barely said anything after she went towards your room's direction.” Xyla accused me as I stepped into the living room.
My eyes fell on Calliope who sat quietly in a corner, scribbling in her note and avoiding eye contact with me. The incidence earlier flashed across my memory and I smirked, maybe I was a bit too hard on her but I was getting more impatient to make her mine.
“What do you think, Xyla? Can anyone escape this beauty?” I bragged, flaunting my handsomeness.
Xyla scoffed and threw a pencil at me which I effortlessly dodged. “You're shameless! Why did you come back?”
“For what belongs to me.” I responded promptly and stared intently at Calliope. “And I'm never leaving until I get it.” I added, meaningfully.
Xyla snickered and began packing her stuffs. “It's late already and we're done with the presentation anyways, let's just all go to bed, we have a long day ahead of us.”
“I'll just stay with Xandros and leave first thing in the morning.” Dylan uttered and I snickered.
“No one shares my room with me, it's for that special person. You can stay in the guestroom.” I retorted.
Xyla hissed playfully at me and beckoned on Callie to join her. Callie shyly goes towards her direction and brushed shoulders against mine, causing a spark of emotions and she blushed, immediately trying to hide it. I smiled satisfactorily and called her name. “Callie!” She stopped midway and looked at me. “Goodnight pumpkin.” I said and waved gently at her, causing her face to glow with a darker shade of pink.
I chuckled amusedly to myself as I eavesdropped on her conversation with Xyla, they talked about Dylan, their future plans for a baby and other girly gossips and I could feel Callie tense up whenever my name was mentioned.
‘There’s no escape from this, those four years were not in vain.’ I mumbled to myself before falling asleep.
The next morning, she was gone and I asked of her from Xyla who seemed to be pissed at everything I did simply because ‘I avoid bonding with her mate’ which I found dramatic and a bit extra.
I waited impatiently for a new week to begin so I can see Callie and even offered to ride with Xyla who informed me she is picking her from her house.
“What is wrong with you? You're acting very weirdly!” Xyla asked, suspiciously as I offered to ride with her.
I tut. “Drive bonehead.”
She gave me a gentle knock and pulled over at Callie's house. Calliope was shocked to see me and could barely hide it. There was a brief commotion as the three of us marched into the school and I went to the Principal's office to get my schedule.
“We're honored to have you here Mr Xavier, your father ordered that we do everything to make you comfortable and I can fix your classes with Miss Flinch to give you more time together.” He said with a wide smile.
“Why?” I asked, sharply.
“It's better to spend more time with your mate seeing that you'll be married soo-”
I cut him short as I abruptly stood up and clenched the schedule tightly in my hand, crumpling the paper. “That would be all. Have a nice day, sir.” I said, forcefully and walked away.
I heard a little commotion as I approached the classroom and walked in to see Thalia picking on Callie, calling her all sorts of names while Xyla tried to stop her.
“What? Are you going to cry? Because your father left your whore of a mother so you're technically a bastard.” Thalia spat, viciously.
“Didn't I say I'll break that finger of yours if you dare lay it on my sister?” I asked, loudly.
Half the crowd scurried away and Thalia suddenly changed her countenance, acting all innocent and high. “Xandros, I'm glad you're here. I was just telling Xyla how we should get along and she should discard this piece of trash-”
I walked past her and up to Xyla who sneered at me. “What a lovely bride she's going to make.”
I turned to look at Callie and her eyes swell with tears. Her paternity was exploited and insulted, I could feel the hurt that gripped at her chest so I bridged the space between us and pulled her into a hug.
“Are you doing fine pumpkin?” I asked, quietly and everyone froze with shock and fear. She tensed and then eased into my embrace.
“She called me a bastard.” Callie whispered and I could hear her through the mind link.
Thalia's facial expression turned sour and I ignored her frantic screams and insult.
“How could you touch such garbage? I'll -”
I grabbed her arm and twisted her wrist. “One more word!!!... I'll ensure you spend the rest of your life in a coma!” I barked at her and she backed away.
A teacher came in and we all dispatched to our seat. Callie was quiet and barely ate anything the rest of the day and I volunteered to drive her back home.
“What do you want from me Xandros? Why are you being so nice?” She asked quietly as she alighted from the car.
I chuckled softly and smiled. “You know what I want Callie, Believe me or not, we both want the same thing.” I responded.
“Eat well before going to bed, I'll see you in school tomorrow.” I said before driving off.
I was content with my actions and went for a drive before heading back home. Joyfully, I stepped into the house, ready to cook myself a meal which was extremely rare but stopped dead in my tracks as a familiar voice and scent greeted me.
“Hello Xandros, having fun?”
I frowned deeply, clenching my teeth. “Dad.”
Calliope's POV ONE WEEK LATER The morning chills engulfed Xyla, she couldn't sleep throughout the night because she was worried about being so far away from her family in an old cabin at the top of the mountain. I woke up to see her sitting on the stairs leading to the door of the house. She was staring at the sun. “What's wrong? You up Xyla.”“Yeah I am, I haven't seen my boyfriend in how many days and you think this is alright. Besides, there's nothing more we do here other than eat, drink, and train.”“Yeah because I'm getting you trained for the school, you're my partner don't you understand that?” I wondered why she woke up with these thoughts in your head. Come on we're in one team, what do you expect me to do? Let you allow Thaila and her people to defeat me. It's impossible, I have to win at every step of the way, she's going to enjoy the taste of defeat until I'm done with her. “What if I don't want to train anymore? Come on, I haven't seen my father. What if they've de
Xandros POV Two weeks later. Calliope has been absent from school along with my sister Xyla, I don't know the reason why she would skip school and not come home. My father isn't worried because I've been covering up for her, convincing him that she would return to the house after her girl's camping event. “What are you thinking about Xandros?”“I'm worried over my sister's whereabouts, you and I know if my father finds out that she's missing. It could lead to war against both packs and we can't have that because it's going to put a hold on everything we got going on.” I explained to her, she acted casually about it, placing her hands on my chest as she embraced him. “Yeah you're right about that, you should not be worried about your sister's whereabouts. At the right time she's going to resurface.” Thaila chuckled, this isn't her sister that's why she's not bothered about it. I wished she would have the courtesy of sympathizing with me but she didn't. “You're not even sad over h
Calliope's POV This is the worst day of my life because I don't know why she thinks that she can get at me. She doesn't know how deep I know her now that everyone thinks that I lost my memories. I have to know who's still out there for me and not to fall for their deceit again, I know how it is to make a big figure bend to its knees. “What are you thinking about? You've been acting off since we arrived at the house.”“What does your brother think about you staying here?”“I don't care, Calliope, I've mentioned this countless times. I don't care what he thinks, I'll always be here to see my father and mother when I want to. If you're tired of me staying here you can say it.” Xyla ran her hands through her hair while eating the chips. “So tell me why did your brother choose that lady? She's very cocky and she doesn't have the ability or strength to push him forward. She's more or less his downfall.” I said out loud, wondering what her response would be. “I know you don't remember a
Xandros POVThe training wasn't ideal for me, it wasn't what I wanted but I had to work with it because this is basically the only chance I get to prove that I'm better without Calliope. Everyone thinks she's this new and improved version of Calliope, see what she did to Thaila. She felt good about it, and Thaila, on the other hand, got scared. This is my time to let her know that I'm better and way smarter than she is. If she thinks she can take my sister away from me, she has another thing coming.“Xandros, Thaila, Cathy, and Tyler.” The Tutor called our names again for clarity. “ Caillope singlehandedly defeated the twins and now we have to do whatever it takes to defeat Xandros and Thiala. They can be deceitful.” Due to my ability to hear from a distance, I heard Tyler's warning to Cathy as she nodded in concession to his words. The duel began, and she pounced on Thaila. She was gaining the upper hand against her, so I had to step in to save Thaila. So I collected her sword an
Calliope's POV “If we're going out there, we're going out as one, so we don't get defeated by other teams,” I explained to her so she would understand that this isn't just a fight, but I have to win to be a thorn in Xandros and Thalia's flesh combined. “I'll do whatever it takes to protect you.”I wish Xandros and Thiala would be our opponents so that I get to have my chance at making him an epitome of mockery. When we arrived at the field, it wasn't just a battlefield. It was an ancient landmark, where my dad fought his enemies and defeated them. “I know she doesn't remember her father since she's lost her memories but Calliope's father defeated his enemies using a formidable strategy that no one has ever used even to this day.”“So sad that she doesn't remember her father. Who knows if she's too weak to even lift a finger?” Thaila was hell bent on taunting me but never knew that Calliope was hell bent on winning her through the semester. “Today we're going to be learning the bas
Author's POVXandros was surprised that Xyla didn't come home, it was the first time she'd ever stayed outside the pack. “I told you Xandros, Xyla's glued to her already.” Tyler chuckles as he gets off the stairs. “She didn't come home last night.” Xandros said it out loud letting Tyler laugh about it because he realized that Xyla didn't send a message to Xandros explaining her wellbeing. “Yeah everyone got her message excluding you I guess.” He scoffs, “What message?” Xandros asked as Tyler read it out to him. “I won't be coming home tonight, I'm staying with Calliope. We're working on something, I'll meet you at school.” Tyler pronounced every word loudly for Xandros to hear. “Everyone, I guess you mean just you.” Thaila interrupted as Xandros watched his father announce.“Dear father, I know how worried you'll be not seeing me at home. I'm safe, staying at a friend's place. It's a fortress and a new environment, so it wouldn't be bad to stay away from my brother for a while.”
