CHAPTER 24

Damon

“We are no more bonded,Damon!” Aurora yelled out. Trying to resist my approach. Yet, it will drove my wolf even more wild. My eyes followed her every movement as she feebly averted my gaze.

She kept looking for any corner to make a quick escape. But, I closed up any opening. “Why do you keep resisting me, you know we have a connection stronger than any bond.” I said to her in a soft voice. Her eyes kept avoiding me, yet it was obvious she was moved by words.

“You were the one who broke our bond.” She snapped back. I was taken back, but I regained my composure immediately.

“Even so, we are destined to be with each other…” I gently grazed her arms with my fingertips. I could sense the elevation in her breath by my every touch. She tried to shimmer it away, but I continued to graze my fingers on her arms till I held her hands.

She still tried to let loose of my grip, however, my strength overwhelmed her. When she finally stop resisting, I leaned forward to press my lips with hers. Just as they were about to touch…

My eyes opened to painting of a huge wolf plastered on my ceiling. I looked over to my side and was greeted with the sight of Ember sleeping comfortably next to me. The bed sheets slightly revealed her bare back that slid downwards. Normally, there was no better sight to wake upto. Yet, all I felt was annoyance washed over me. I took a weary sigh and headed to the bathroom to get ready for the day of long strategic meetings ahead of me.

Luckily, I had a moment of solace to continue my sweet dream. The water drops gently touched my body from the shower rejuvenated all my muscles. Just as I enjoying my bath. I felt soft hands making its way all over my body. For a moment, I allowed myself to indulge those soft touches. Thinking my imagination has finally manifested.

“This imagination feels so real and nice.” I thought to myself. My mind drifted far as the hand movements became more intense. I also held the hands to also guide it all over my body.

Even the soft moans whispered into my ears further intensified all the movements. Just before things took a higher level, I heard a calm voice. “Does this please you, Alpha?”

That familiar voice belonged only to Ember, subconsciously I removed her hands on me. I turned around to confirm it was her. Her eyes were filled confusion. She also had a befuddled look on her face.

“Did I do anything wrong?” She asked with a puzzled look. She always had the talent of been obnoxious to any of her actions and playing the victim. I didn’t want to start any conflict this early morning.

“No, I’m just not in the mood.” I slowly brushed her off and left the shower on incase she wanted to continue. I took my towel and cleaned through and got dressed. She stayed for a few seconds and came out quickly and also got ready.

I wore my attire all set for the meeting looking confident and elegant. I could still feel her deep stares on me as I dressed but I paid no heed.

As soon as I was done, I headed out to the dining to stay my day having breakfast. I was surprised to see all the staffs standing like they were waiting for someone. I also met my beta also standing close to the table looking mysterious and cheeky.

“What’s going on, why is the table not set?” I asked him with a hint of irritant in my voice. He nervously replied.

“My apologies Alpha…the Luna asked we should hold till she comes out.” He said in a hoarse voice. I looked at him with a concerned look. “What is ember planning?”I thought to myself. She never woke up early to prepare the breakfast set. She usually got out bed during noon.

Moments later, she rushed out adjusting her green tight-body gown. It stopped just inches above her knees revealing her long pale legs. As soon as she entered, the entire demeanor changed. She always had a way of drawing all the attention in any room. She looked up towards me like she was fishing for a compliment, but I simply looked away. Her action on making a move on Aurora was still very fresh in my mind. My wolf also grunted in annoyance. I huffed and sat down on a chair opposite to hers. There was a considerable space between us as the imported table was long. She feigned ignorance and put up a forced smile on her smile and she rushed to serve me.

She stacked my plate with almost everything on the tray.

I still remained unfazed as I ate a little portion a little and got up to continue my day. She had a shocked look on her face after seeing I didn’t even eat upto half of my usual eating appetite.

“My Alpha, is there something else you prefer to eat? I can get the kitchen staff to whip it for you.” She softly asked. All the staffs including my beta could feel the tension in the room and were so eager to leave. I didn’t want them to witness anymore of our squabbles.

“I am late for a meeting, I am not hungry today.” I hastily said as I gestured my beta to follow me to the throne room. I could feel her stares as she watched my retreating figure exit the dining room.
