Damon POVI watched the retreating silhouette of Aurora as she ran out of my room. I felt a tang of guilt, but it quickly dissipated. After I wore my jeans and ripped T-shirt. From the corner of my eye, I could see Ember Rivers adjusting the hem of her dress seductively. She ran her hand through her thick hair that reached her waist. Her dress accentuated her figure. She had a good height of 5’7ft with all her features proportioned perfectly. “She will make a good eye candy.” I thought to myself. Her beauty was light years ahead in comparison to Aurora, a petite girl whom I found unattractive. Yet, for some cruel twist of fate, my wolf growled in desire anytime she was near me. How could this slave be my mate? I hissed at that thought.Aurora had always been repulsive to me, even since she was younger. She had a fragile frame and always looked weak and pathetic. I only derived joy in taunting her and watching her squirm. That was the only reason I kept her in my presence. She was lik

DariusI woke up in a panic state, glistening with sweat on my forehead. I let out a deep sigh as I wiped it off. “It was just a bad dream,” I mumbled quietly to myself. I sometimes have dreams that feel so real, like a distant memory. It was a dream about a young pup, presumably me, being chased in the woods. I always woke up just when the people chasing me were very close. Their faces were blurry, but I could sense their anger and hatred.I let out a weary sigh. The air seemed thicker and colder than usual, which sent chills all over my spine. All the hair on my skin stood up, there was just a gut feeling that something huge was going to happen today. My wolf growled restlessly, sensing the unease in my heart. I gently placed my hands on my chest to calm down. I took a deep sigh and headed out to the general hall. I preferred staying there to listen to the complaints and challenges of my pack.It was a large hall filled with pictures of former alphas all dressed in ceremonial attir

Aurora POVThe early sunrise gently caressed my cheeks as my eyes slowly opened. I woke up in a large, soft bed that was thrice the size of my former mattress back in the Moonfall pack. Immediately, I was hit with different emotions. My breath caught in my throat. At first, I felt a breath of fresh air without the panic thought of rushing out to early morning duties. However, there was also a pang of guilt that I didn’t get to see my best friend Vanessa before I was hurriedly taken away. A wave of anxiety washed over me, not knowing what it entails for me, but I quickly snapped back to reality. “This is a new chance for me.” I consoled myself. I wore the night gown, placed on a chair beside me, and headed off to greet my new Alpha.“Good morning-” My eyes searched around for Darius. I came out of the room and met a she-wolf outside the corridors.“Hello, my name is Raven. I was ordered by the Alpha to attend to your every need. Is there anything you have in mind?” She asked. She had

DariusThe clouds were gloomy, scattered all over the sky, dark-ish. It didn’t help improve my mood as I stepped out of the palace. The palace servants and guards greeted me on my way out with respect and courtesy.“Good morning, our Alpha, may your reign be long and prosperous.” They all said, slightly bowing to me in sync. I reluctantly nodded my head in approval as I strode out. I caught the gaze of my beta, Cameron, who had a troubled facial expression. It’s like he could read my thoughts, no matter how much I try to hide them, which I found upsetting. I hissed as I walked passed him hurriedly. He immediately followed me closely behind and remained silent till we were in the open, away from prying eyes. After he checked around, making sure no one could hear us, he leaned close to me.“My Alpha what’s troubling you? You seem to be moody after you came out of your chambers.” Cameron asked with a befuddled look. His tone sounded sincere, but I could tell he was only fishing for infor

AuroraIt had been over a month, and I had yet to have any deep conversation with Darius. It felt like we were worlds apart, yet our rooms were just a few inches away from each other. I grew tired of connecting with him. But it all was to no avail. I resigned myself to wait till he was ready for me. Alpha Darius was widely known not to open up to people easily, so I will bide my time and wait till the perfect moment when he can no longer ignore me.“He’s my second mate, I know he will come to me,” I muttered to myself. I sat down deep in my thoughts till I was tapped on the shoulders. “Are you alright, Aurora?” I turned around to view the tall man in his early twenties standing behind me. He wore a waistcoat, which gave me a dignified look. I squinted my eyes and saw it was Cameron. Darius’s Beta.“Sniff…I’m fine, Ser.” I replied calmly. I was oblivious to how much time had passed for the day. As I sat in the corridors of the palace. Cameron sat down beside me.“You don’t have to be
